I agree that it is a waste of time and money. It's more like a raffle than an auction. You don't just lose the auction you also lose the money you used to bid. You buy bids ahead of time and bid on the 12 -13 items listed. And get this, all bidders except the winner loses the money they used to bid. The site doesn't lie about how it works but they make it sound like it's easy and fun and it's neither of those things. There is a clock running and when it gets to zero if you are the high bidder you win. There is one catch, if anyone else is biddig when it is around 0 it adds 10 seconds to the clock for each bidder so the auction continuously loops from a few minutes to 0 minutes until eventually somone miraculously wins. To sum it up don't waste your money. They have some racket going and must be raking in the money.

There is no way that anyone can legitimatly win on this site i bought a bid pack for $20.00 all my bids are almost gone and i have seen the same hagglers on multiple pages how and why would you sit at the computer that long its beyond me they have to be employees being paid to raise bids on expensive items no one is going to take a loss of more than 10% on any site I asked a question on the site as to why the timer does not ever run out you can keep bidding indefinitly up to and beyond what the item really costs if someone on the otherside is willing to sit there as long as you can not a great site but not setup good also, Take your money elsewhere.

DON'T GET ON THIS WEBSITE! Whether it is a scam or not, it is not worth it. You will spend money just to lose hours of your time and energy, and eventually just lose a lot of money. I wish someone had warned me. Don't do it! You'll regret it!

For fun keep one browser with the site open and watch an item that is nearing the end say 10 minutes left wait a couple minutes. Now open a second browser and wow that's amazing the same item now only has 10 minutes left. Wait a minute? WTF is up with that. If it is not a scam then it is definetly very flawed.

I find it interesting that some of the people will purposely run it up. It will have been between 1 and 30 seconds and then they will run it up to 20 minutes with the bids. I was in an auction that had been going for hours (hours!) and it was down to me and this other person basically, all the other 1 second bidders had pretty much left. I noticed these two guys jumped in swatipuneet and mikejoe11 (or some other variation of numbers behind it) beware of these two. After I was these two jack***es racked it up to 20 minutes I notices they had done the same on several other auctions. Why? Seems wierd to me and I am done after these bids.

Another reviewer on this site had exposed this secret but I'd thought I'd check it out myself. YES there are certain bidders who dominate all auctions and when no one challenges them for an item, they OUTBID THEMSELVES! Nuff said?!

I personally stumbled upon this site about a week ago. My first time on an auction site. They give you 3 free bids when you sign up, but 3 bids for the most part are absolutely worthless. Well after watching for awhile I decided I was going to take a crack at it, I bought a bundle of bids and quickly learned what not to do and how not to bid. Since then I have won 5 items, none of which have even been shipped out yet so I can't say if the products are new as they say. It normally takes 5-7 for them to even ship it out. But I will say I got some VERY good deals as well as made a stupid mistake or 2. In all, I've come out about even but have learned a great deal in the process. Assuming all my items are delivered and come as advertised and the site doesn't become TOO popular, I will definately purchase more bids! You can't find deals like these on eBay. Sorry, no way. Not even close. I'm not giving away any hints or strategies, you gotta figure that out for yourself but there are items to be won here, and cheap! I will say be aware of certain users. People were only allowed to win 10 auctions in a month now Haggle has upt that to 20 wins a month. If u see a user basically hoarding all the auctions, start keeping track of how many items they win. Once they hit 20 and they keep winning, report them!

I believe that the website works this way: 1. I don't believe Haggle owns anything. I think they are buying the products after the auction is won, with all of our bid money. 2. Both myself and a friend spent $200 in bids and stayed on the computer for over 3 hours only to find that the same person was winning everything, for days straight.( likely automated or an internal scam- shill bidding). It's a genious scam. I just can't believe it would be legal. AND THAT'S IT. Just think about it. You post a picture of something you don't have, multiple people bid on it endlessly and pay to bid. If you win a PSP for $130 total and there are even 10 people who have paid to bid and lost even $100? That's over $1000 paid to haggle. THEY ARE RIPPING US ALL OFF AND WE HAVE OURSELVES TO BLAME. WE SHOULD ALL START OUR OWN SITES! NO CAPITAL INVESTMENT, JUST A WEBSITE.

THIS SITE IS A F'ING SCAM! BUY BIDS (SPEND $20, $50, $100, $300) JUST TO BID ON AN ITEM. GET INTO A BIDDING WAR WITH SOMEONE... WHO KNOWS IF THEY ARE LEGIT. I THINK THEY HAVE PEOPLE ON THE SITE JUST TO JACK UP THE BIDS. IT'S A SCAM... AVOID!

I work for Haggle LLC
December 2, 2009

I work for Haggle LLC.

I've noticed a lot of swirling misinformation out there on various review sites, so I thought I'd try to clear some of it up with one long post:

1. Our contact info is:
601 108th Ave NE
Bellevue, WA 98*******521

That info is also available on the website.

2. Company policy forbids employees, affiliates, and families from bidding on Haggle.com. We periodically run an internal site that employees can use to "get their bidding on". Although Haggle.com is a great site that thousands of customers enjoy, our employees prefer staying employed to bidding on the public site. It's great fun, but in this economy, no one takes his or her job for granted. Of course, the only way to "prove" that would be to show all users the names of all the bidders in the system and the names of all the company employees, but that would be a gigantic violation of personal privacy, which we take very seriously. Rest assured that, from the beginning, we have had a policy of no employee bidding because we want the site to be a delightful experience for our customers.

3. The bids themselves do pay for the discounts on the merchandise. Everything about how the site works is transparently described in the FAQ: http://www.haggle.com/Home/Help

Finally, to the competitor marketing troll who keeps spamming sites likes this - please, please find something better to do.

I hate this stupid site! The timer gets down to one second and every single time someone clicks it at one second the timer goes back up to 8-10 more seconds and then goes back to one and back to 8-10 again... on and on like that. It seems never ending. I was watching this one auction & there were two-three people having a bidding war where they kept clicking it at one sec. And the time just kept going up and down seemingly nonstop.
You have to buy bids, which can run up to $100 or more. The way these bids go it seems you need to spend $100 or more on bids just to get the item. It's so frustrating spending hrs. Watching an auction to see if it is ever going to end. Then it's a gamble as to when to click bid, because you never know if someone else is going to click it and the timer's going to go back up again. You sit there afraid to click bid because it looks like someone is going to click it too. So, you wait and wait, until it looks like the bidding is dying down, then click bid and there goes the timer back up and you didn't win the item. GRRR...
On this site you could easily spend more than an item is worth in bids just to be able to win the item. It seems this site and others like it are only good for those who run the site. They make lots of money off of people who are buying the bids and paying way more than an item's worth just to win the auction.
Stick with ebay. You can get items cheaper than in the store, you don't have to buy bids, and when the time runs out, the auction is over. You can click at the last minute and actually win the item on ebay. My suggestion to anyone who wants items less than in the store, go to ebay or other sites like it and stop wasting money to buy bids just to end up not getting anything on these stupid penny auction sites.

DON'T DO IT!
December 7, 2009

DON'T DO IT! I was a sucker and bought a bundle of bids and wasted my money! I sat up for HOURS one night, I watched a cameral I wanted for HOURS going from 1 second to 30 mintues. If you do the math, the people that win these are spending more on bids than it's worth. If you get a WII for $50 but spend $150 on bids, where's the savings? Then you are also out all that time. DON'T DO IT!

I have broken just about even. I have won an ipod touch and a wii game. I attempted to watch and learn after my first few bids were ineffectively spent. I noticed the same people winning over and over. I noticed one or two will get into a bidding war and I did this once and lost. As a another person has noted it seems some have limitless bids. I have noticed some of these that win over and over get the "haggle bids" as slightly lower than cost and go on bidding. These people may be ligit. Others bid up to a certain point and leave... and while the item is less than cost... once you add in the cost to buy bids and then the cost of the item... you are lucky to break even. They have come up with some new rules... but what good are rules if they are not enforced? I like others have spent some time watching... Most keep the winning to five a day... can't say about the maximum per month.
Overall, be extremely cautious with this site. I know there is a learning curve-but it can become very expensive, very fast, and frustrating.

So after spending close to $100 on bids, I realized that this site is obviously plagued by either scandal, ripoff artists, or a combination of them. Here's what I see, this site is either using an automated engine to continually drive up the bid count on items, or they truly have people that sit at their computers for days on end dropping hundreds of bids on items they then turn around and sell on eBay or something of the like. You see, I first went to this site with the hopes of replacing something that was stolen from me. It's X-mas time, so money is tight and I really didn't want to pay full price for something I've already paid for, so I thought I'd give it a shot. As so many other people have stated, there are seriously a couple dozen usernames that seem to have limitless bids and time. For giggles, I watched a couple items over and over to see how they worked and noted that the same username was bidding on similar items during about an 18 hour period. Is there really someone sitting there bidding for 18+ hours out of the day? Doubt it, sounds like automation (As I know another reviewer noted). In the end I will probably never use this site again. It's a huge waste of time and money. You may get lucky, but watch the trap. You buy a few bids, bid on an item, then when you run out of bids you pyschologically tell yourself you can't quite now, you'll have wasted that money, so you buy more bids. It's a trap I tell ya!

THIS SITE IS NOT A SCAM BUT AN INGENIOUS HUSTLE. AFTER READING ALL THE COMPLAINTS I DECIDED TO SIGN IN FOR THE FREE BIDS. YOU GET ONLY ONE! SO I DECIDED TO USE SOME STRATEGY AND BID ON ITEMS WHERE THE DISCOUNT WOULD BE FAR LESS THAN THE 90% SAVING THE SITE ADVERTISES. I FIGURE IF I WIN I WOULDN'T MIND SPENDING 120.00 PLUS ON A PSP GO. BUT I REALIZED THAT IT WOULD BE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO WIN. SOMEONE WHO IS AGGRESSIVE WON'T GIVE UP THAT EASILY, HOW CAN THEY IF THEY INVESTED SO MUCH TIME AND MONEY. SO IF I USE THAT ONE BID I WOULD BE OUT BIDDED. AND FOR THOSE COMING IN LATE, JACKING UP THE PRICE, UR BETTER OFF BUYING IT SOMEWHERE ELSE BECAUSE THE PRICE WOULD ALREADY BE HIGH PLUS YOU SPEND MONEY ON THE BIDS. THE ONLY WAY I SEE SOMEONE WINNING IS IF THEY HAVE THE "I DON'T GIVE A FU(K" ATTITUDE AND SCARE EVERYONE OFF. THE PSP GO I WAS LOOKING AT IS STILL BEING BID ON, ITS BEEN HOURSSS. FINALLY, HOW CAN YOU BUY BIDS TO BID ON BIDS? I TOLD YOU, GREAT HUSTLE.

The site is most certainly not a scam. My household has won 37 items off the site in less than 2 months. I am typing on a macbook that i won right now. It takes working capital for bids, strategy, and a whole lot of time to invest. I studied auctions for weeks before taking the plunge. You simply can not expect to buy 20 bids and then win a laptop.

The site is owned by infospace. Infospace is a legitimate company that owns many other web based ventures. The notion that they are injecting bots or shill bidders to drive prices up is just ignorant. Granted that level of transparency just isn't possible, they are a publicly traded company and have too much to lose due to such shenanigans.

You can get most of this information by taking some time to review all of the comments on their facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/haggle. I took the time to educate myself before spending money on the site. Looks like alot of people who have written negative reviews weren't as smart. And no i am not an employee of the company.

http://www.haggle.com/Auction/xbox-360-wireless-headset/*******

So, I'm checking out this site looking to purchase a Wii console. The premise is this:

You buy "bids" that are used to increment the auction price by 10 cent per bid. Depending on the lot of bids that you buy, the bids range between 55 cents and 75 cents per... bid. Each time a bid is placed, 15 seconds is added to the clock to give everyone a chance to be a winner. Got that?

Well, I decide to watch one of these auctions - a $50 Xbox 360 Wireless Headset - in its "closing minutes." Two bidders, Frosthawk and 1eden, are going at it furiously. In the end Frosthawk "WINS" at $14.10 Now, here's the math:

$14.10@. 10 increments = 141 bids
141 bids at avg price of. 65 = $91.65
$91.65 + $14.10 (winning bid) = $105.75 (this goes to Haggle)
Haggle's profit: $55.75
**Haggles profit@. 55/bid: $41.65

Now for Frosthawks savings:
Frosthawk bid 61 times
61 x. 65 = $39.65
$39.65 + $14.10 = $53.75
$53.75 + $5.00 (shipping) = $58.75
Total savings: -$8.75
**Total savings if Frosthawk paid. 55 per bid: -$2.65

Total buffoonery! Someone is making money. And it isn't Frosthawk or 1eden. Stay away from this site.
