I use the free version of grammarly (while I'd love more capability that the paid one gives, I just don't want to spend the money) and I use it primarily for finding simple grammar/spelling mistakes in essays for college/applications/school assignments. It's helped me fix lots of little problems that would have counted off a few points in school, so I could even say it's helped my grades. I installed the web app of it also (on my MacBook) and I haven't experienced any problems. I noticed that some other reviewers complained of hidden fees in the "free" version, but I've never experienced that. I've been using it for a bit longer than a year. Overall, I've recommended it to people already and I plan to continue recommending it unless something comes up. So far, this app has proven very helpful for me.
Having used Grammarly for a month or so now, I find it intuitive and quite interactive. It is excellent at picking up my minor mistakes and is almost always correct. Nearly perfect.
Am only using the free version and do not really need the premium version, so cannot asses the premium version...

As a writer in English as a second language, I am getting tremendous help from Grammarly and am recommending it to all my friends. Being corrected by Grammarly is a great learning experience. Looking forward to a better price for an upgrade…
Not just it's the worst program ever, but literally - this is a virus guys, i have never ever installed it, still it gets installed every week once or twice. I have reported the abuse several times. Nothing happens. This thing is back on my PC regularly.
Paid version catches more errors than the free one, but only marginally so.
And it still misses many errors, and flags things that are correct.
But the biggest reason for my 2-star rating is the fact that you have to use their crappy keyboard if you want to use their app on your phone. It won't work with SwiftKey, which is what I use. If I wanted a junk keyboard, I'd get an iPhone.
This is a company that automatically takes money out of your account and will not refund a prorated subscription. Their business seems to be based on ripping people off and not their actual product. Do better guys!
One of the best tools I have ever used. It is simple to understand and seamless. It prevents you from making typos, and then goes much further by improving your punctuation, tone, and grammar. I love this!
I paid for Grammarly via a special. I got one year for $99. I did not sign up for auto renew. I was just charged $139.95 for one year via Paypal without an email warning me that my subscription was running out or my consent. I have asked for a refund in writing given the fact Grammarly has no live customer service staff. Terrible user experience. Not work $140!
It is useful using Safari documents. But since it has been able to work with Word, it has become really useful - I can focus on problem areas in documents very quickly and over time I make far fewer errors. This is very helpful to me as much of my work involves writing various kinds of documents.
It has been great having Grammarly. It never seems to miss any punctuation marks nor spelling errors, it is always on point and I am very thankful for being introduced to it. It helps me with my essay writing and the learning of new words to better prepare me for exams. It has been a pleasure

Free version corrects absolutely nothing that matters in your writing. And proceeds to hide the important matters behind an outrageous paywall. If you are dissatisfied with the service they refuse to do refunds. Even if you unsubscribe before your first month is up, unlike Adobe.
When I need to check my content on mistakes, I use grammarly.
But sometimes it shows me suggestions that I would not accept. Even a school student should know that Repetitive word inmate in the "will help the inmates to understand" couldn't be changed on "prisoners". Strange thing.
In general, it is a nice service for checking mistakes.
I have found Grammarly to be the best app for online writing, period. Not only because of the superficial repairs to writing but also that it is easy to find deeper details on grammar usage via links. I appreciate especially that they allow us non-writers to access the app for free.

The corrections that Grammarly suggests are largely BS. There are many free programs that do the same for free. If you have Microsoft word, there is no reason for you to get Grammarly. I paid for one month to check it out and apparently I got charged for 3 months because they hid in their terms of service that if you don't cancel your subscription they continue charging you. They spend all their money on advertising and obviously very little on their good for nothing program. Do yourself a favor and do not get scammed.
Grammarly is probably the best app I've seen, I'm in grade 5, and I type very fastly, so I make many spelling mistakes. Grammarly helps me with that. Sometimes when ur writing a story or stuff, it gives you many advice and correct spelling. Lol plus, even for writing this very review I'm using Grammarly
My Grammarly experience has been awesome. I don't know how I ever wrote anything without the help of Grammarly. I am so grateful that my college English teacher introduced the class to this very helpful tool.
The best thing about this app is that im not finding those little mistakes as much as i have in the past. Repeating over mistakes doesnt only help me ensure i have good copy right but it also helps me to pick out common errors of mine to keep them in mind for future copy.
I've had Grammarly for about eight weeks now. The suggestions are helpful, the tone reader is interesting, and the extension itself makes you feel like your doing something great while using it... the only issue I have is that most of the good options are part of the Grammarly Premium option, an option you have to pay for.
