Very Easy to apply for a Tax number. Very surprised at how quick it came through, I couldn't open my website until I had a business bank acct. And I couldn't open my bank acct. Until I got a Tax ID number... so very happy!
I was told I needed the EIN to get some payments from my deceased wife's employer.
The Site is more business oriented than personal.
It would be helpful it selections for individuals were noted.
This is one sleazy business!
1. It uses. gov.us, which implies that it is a government business. (My bad for not picking up on the domain being. Us, not. gov.us.) Because i thought I was on a government website, I didn't read the disclaimer.
2. It charges $129 for a service that the government provides at no cost online.(I should have know the cost was not anything the IRS would charge.)
3. The forms are the same as those provided on the IRS online website
I am very uneasy about this business having some sensitive personal information and i will be monitoring my credit reports for unauthorized activity for months.
I will not use the government ID provided by them, but will re apply and use a "clean" number.
Beware of getting involved with a company that uses misleading URLs to get you to visit their website.

... yeah. Needed to apply for an EIN and I almost got fooled into this one. The site ends in. US which makes it look like a government site. The layout is VERY similar to the website you go to to apply for an EIN directly with the government. I finished the application and was very dissapointed to see that it would cost me 140$ to get an EIN. I abandonned the application and decided not to get one... and then found out that its actually free to get an EIN. Now very worried that this company has my social security number and all I know about them so far is that they clearly intend to deceive people into thinking they're services are required to receive an EIN... hope I dont get reamed on this one.

I am currently unemployed but have a great product so decided to start an online store. I applied for an EIN online. I went to the site that looked legitimate www.ein-gov.us and at the end paid $129 for an EIN.
The site was quite deceiving for it used the same layout and colors of the IRS GOV site (I'm a graphic designer).
I went to the bank to open a business account only to find out that I can get an EIN for FREE! I tried to call and was on hold for 15 minutes.
I just emailed them right now and will see if anyone will get back to me.
I feel I was deceived to believe that it was a government site.
I hope to get a refund.
