Whatever you do, make sure you don't post too much info in the forums. Also make sure you don't make an alt account and say it's not you. I made the mistake of both of these things and was bullied for the longest time. Somebody also said they would kill themselves if they were me. Making quizzes is fun, but avoid the forums.
Be sure that you don't take any of the "are you pretty?" or "are you stupid?" quizzes seriously, especially if you have lower self esteem and are looking for validation. I'm not one of those people myself, but some of the quiz results are disgusting. For example, in the quiz "how good is your taste in music?" if you are an oldies music fan, the result will say that your taste is terrible and that "you should kill yourself right now." Also, if you criticize a quiz in the quiz's comments section, you will be harassed. There is no option on the site to report comments or quizzes, either, which is a recipe for disaster.
I love Gotoquiz just as much as the next fellow but I am deeply dissatisfied with how they handle accounts. I made an account a while ago and my password to that account was hard to remember, after a bit I bought a new computer and decided to login. But surprise, surprise, I forgot my password. I tried desperately to login but unfortunately my attempts were obsolete. Since I had given my email address to the site I was sure that they would have a reset password option. But sadly there isn't. I suggest adding something like this so that people won't lose their accounts.
There are quite a few good quizzes on this site but also some very poor ones. The good ones are very fun and the bad ones only waste a few minutes of your time, so it's not a big deal like buying a car.
The quiz design page could use some work. They encourage you to post a link to your website on the quiz, but most URLs get a bogus "Invalid URL" error when you try to use them for the link.
I am happy to remove this review if I hear back from GoToQuiz. I sent GoToQuiz two DMCA takedowns on Sept. 22,2022 and Jan. 27,2023. The email address I used was *******@gotoquiz.com, which is what they say to use for DMCA takedowns on their site here: https://www.gotoquiz.com/contact.html.
I created, own, and sell the material they are giving away for free. This is for the same URL on both occasions, which they have still not removed in Feb. 2023. I can see that they opened the email in Oct. 2022 and Jan 2023, but they have not responded to me at all. The copyright-infringing URL remains active.
GoToQuiz, you are legally obligated to respond to DMCA takedowns. It is unprofessional and unethical to ignore DMCA requests. Your site claims to be DMCA compliant, but in failing to respond to DMCA requests, you are not compliant.
I was doing a quiz named "Do your parents hate you?" And at the end it started saying swears and racist words. How rude and racist! Worst website ever I hope it gets deleted
There are a lot of great quizzes on this site. Also there are forums where you can meet other quiz makers. It's really an awesome site. Definitely five out of five.
