I purchased a $50 Black Angus gift card in October 2016 and promptly forgot about it. This weekend (October 2017) I found it and went to dinner with my fiance. When we tried to pay we were told the card has a ZERO balance. I emailed GCSpread and was told that the 60 day refund period had expired. I was never told to use the card "as soon as possible" to insure the money was still there! I contacted my bank and explained the problem. Despite the "60 day refund policy" Wells Fargo encouraged me to start a claim as the gift card clearly states "treat like cash: no expiration".
I sold them ten $100 gift cards which they received on June 30th (sent by certified mail so I would have proof of receipt). I was told I would get a check within 10 days. After 10 days with no check, I called to be told they were having technical difficulties and couldn't process checks so they asked for my banking information and said that I would get an ACH deposit in 2-3 days. After 4 days with no ACH deposit, I called again to be told they were having more technical difficulties and they couldn't process any payments (either by check or ACH deposit for 2-3 weeks). It has been 3 and 1/2 weeks with no payment. Now whenever I try to call, it just rings and rings before going to voicemail. They have not responded to any of my emails or returned any of my voicemails. I only gave them a 1 star rating because I couldn't give them a no star rating. DO NOT USE GCS!
I purchased 3 e gift cards and when I tried to use them the site would not accept due to non-matching PINs. Requested a full refund, and have not heard back. Will file a fraud complaint with my card company if a refund is not granted ASAP.
THEY SOLD ME A CARD WITH A ZERO BALANCE THAN REFUSED TO REIMBURSE ME. THEY ARE LIARS AND THIEVES. I EVEN DID ALL THE RESEARCH ON THE GIFTCARD WITH THE ACTUAL RETAILER. THE CARD HAD ZERO BALANCE BEFORE IT WAS SOLD TO ME! DO U BELIEVE THIS?
Buyer beware! Do not buy from this site. I usually use Raise or Giftcard Zen, this was my first experience with Giftcardspread, and it will be my last. They ask all sorts of questions to verify your identity, similar to questions you would answer when applying for credit. Then, after they sent the giftcard to my email, I attempted to use it 20 minutes after it was delivered, and the balance had already been used. I filed a request for refund under their "purchase protection", and they responded that the giftcard was verified just before sending it to me, thus they couldn't do anything and would not refund my money. Please, take my advice, and DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.
It was a good experience. This is first time where in i purchased gift card to get more discount on Forever 21. The support guys cleared all my queries.
I have called and emailed several times with a problem that was not giftcardspread's fault, but they still helped me out and were very welcoming the entire time. I would definitelydo business with giftcardspread.com again.
When you get a call from the Gift Card Spread to verify its you making all the first purchases... That's security!. I found out about gift card Spread and thought it would be a great way to save myself a couple of bucks on gift cards because Why not?
Once I started the savings, I couldn't stop at just one gift card. Soon enough giftcardspread were calling me to verify it was me making all the purchases and using my own card. I thought that was wonderful!. I always love buying online and I've never had anyone call to make sure it's me purchasing. Will definitely keep using it.
I bought a Marshalls giftcard yesterday afternoon on giftcardspread.com for $400 because it was an e gift card and I needed it immediately.
I was a little scared when I purchased from giftcardspread because of the reviews, and was frozen of descry an issue.
But this morning I received a called from customer support to verify that I did buy a GC, and it was activated at that moment.
Thanks Giftcardspread.
Got a great deal on a BJs Wholesale Club Gift Card, The card was invalid. I called them and immediately they sent me the correct one. And again, they called up to make sure that I received it. Terrific client services.
I bought a $200 applebees giftcard, and when I went to use it, I was told the giftcard was not valid. When I called the company, they said it's over 60 days, and they could not offer refund. Horrible!
I suspect this company collects your personal information and crdit card numbers. My wife placed an order, her card was charged and the order was canceled. They claimed that the bank did not verify her information. Then I placed an identical order with the same result. They are either grossly incometent or running a scam.
I purchased $25 gift card, but there was no balance. They refused to issue refund since it is over 60 days. Poor customer service. I would buy from another company.
They redeem your gift card amount for cash in Arizona, usually after the 60 days, but sometimes before. They have the call to make sure you're sending the information of a real person.
Went through their process and they ripped me off completely. They got my five gift cards for over 200 bucks and I got nothing! Total scam.
I tried using a gift card it turned out that there was no balance. I called them and the customer service was great. I got my confirmation email about my refund, I was happy to get my money back.
Ordered a gift card; used part of it. Then, someone else used the remaining balance. I tracked done the usage to a store in a different state. I sent giftcardspread the name and address of the store and THE NAME OF THE PERSON who used it... after numerous emails, giftcardspread NEVER responded to any of my emails. I recommend using a company that 1) replies to customer emails 2) has some tracking mechanism 3) provides some vetting of their sellers to PREVENT RIPOFFS.
Use someone else unless you want to take the chance on GETTING RIPPED OFF!
Got burnt twice, stay away. I lost a couple hundred dollars.
Customer service stinks! Several emails not answered.
Very frustrating.
Spamming my email address like no tomorrow. Stay away from them at all costs possible. Terrible company.
I have been purchasing a multitude of giftcards online from many various vendors for years. Typically, I have great experiences. However, my recent experiences with GiftCardSpread was by far the worst and most frustrating giftcard experience, as well as online experience ever! Even though I have ordered from them for 3 years, suddenly with my last two purchases it was an absolute nightmare. Each time, not only did I verify by text, but I was then sent an email stating that because I was a new purchaser, it would require additional verification. I was NOT a new purchaser, and this was required for my last two separate purchases. I was subjected to extensive, lengthy phone calls, going through numerous public record verification questions (who can remember a car or phone number from 18 years ago?). The most recent purchase they did this two days in a row, each time assuring me that my card was on the way, but they didn't send it. On the second day, after the 2nd interrogation (when had already answered all their questions and provided the text verification that was sent to my phone, two days in a row) I was again lied to, assuring me that my e-card would arrive in 15 minutes, yet over 24 hours later, it had not arrived. This was not a large dollar amount card, I paid just over $50 for it, yet I had previously placed orders for over $150 with no difficulty. Although they had immediately charged my credit card, while they wasted my time with all this foolishness, when they blatantly lied about sending my card, I demanded that they cancel the order and refund my money. 3 days later I get an email that "unfortunately they had to cancel my order" and that it would take 3-5 days to refund. NEVER again! I ordered a replacement card from another company, I had that card in my email literally within 3 minutes of ordering. Now THAT is service! And they will be the company to get my business in the future. There are many card resellers out there who value their customers and treat them the way they should be treated. Avoid GiftCardSpread like the plague!
Answer: They are a scam! Beware. I sold a $25 gift card and was supposed to receive payment. I never got anything. They will lie and email you with the run around.
