The entire series is full overpriced rubbish designed to steal from children and incompetent adults. Richard, the owner of genkienglish(dot)com is a scam artist, and his trickery will catch up with him in time. Everything offered for an incredibly high price is available free online, and many of the serious English teachers in the world are seriously relishing the day when the British Council makes him pull his site down or return his passport because his behavior makes an international mockery of England.

Very outdated and not aesthetic flash graphics. The price does not match the quality. Visually done negligently. The first discs at least deal with several aspects of the topics, while the last discs have only a couple of phrases on the entire disc. Few words on the topic and one or two phrases are worked out. This is not enough. A complete system for the lesson is expected from such a number of disks, and there is only a joke. The guy is cheerful and energizing, but it looks like he was tired and gave up on his work.

Be Genki!
December 21, 2008

Be Genki! - Genki English is the English program used in Japanese schools. In this method, English is taught through a series of songs (sometimes annoying, sometimes ridiculous, sometimes just plain catchy) and games. It was developed all by one guy Richard, who is extremely responsive to emails and feedback. I asked if there was anything possible in terms of providing the program to our school in Guatemala, and within 3 weeks, it got to me in the mail (from Japan to Guatemala) free of charge. Really an all around good program and nice guy. I only wish there were a more organized scope and sequence as well as organization in the system itself.

Basically
May 12, 2021

This is a guy who had a good idea in 2000, monetized it, sat back and did nothing for 20 years as the teaching world passed him by. He is like a man running Windows 95 in a Windows 10 world.

His 'package' costs 400UKP (in 2021). And it consists of a bunch of badly animated MS Paint pictures. Some are even in FLASH! I borrowed a copy of his stuff from a friend who was suckered into buying it. Even though it was free, I wouldn't use it, it was outdated trash.

His 'about me' page describes him as "... the world's leading authority on teaching...".
Yeah, right. His profile makes him out to be the Elon Musk of Education. He's a joke!

He also brags about being a speaker at a TED conference. However it was a TEDx conference - which is when someone purchases a TED license, NOT an official TED conference at all!

The guy is a shyster who sells overpriced, dated concepts.
I totally agree with the reviewer who said that the British Government should revoke his passport and close him down. He gives all English teachers a bad name.

He also DCMA's the eff out of websites that dare to criticize him, and will try his damnedest to get negative Youtube comments removed as well.
