I have been reading some of these reviews and while I'm sure they are legitimate to an extent, most people only review to complain. This company sells may thousands of items a year and I m sure most customers are happy with their purchases but don't leave a review. I personally have bought a lot of items from them, both online and direct from their, very impressive store. I've always had good service from them with regular emails if items are delayed and will keep using them myself. Also when buying an instrument, I really is best to collect in person so you can inspect it before taking it away, they are happy for you to inspect and play before you buy. I don't have a review to leave at the minute but I just want to address the balance a bit on all the bad reviews.
Bought a bundle pack £339. It was unsuitable so all was returned at a cost of £12.49 which I agreed. Only got £237.64 credited to my account and a further £73 and then £15.69 was taken OUT of my account instead of refunded. After numerous emails and telephone calls and sending them screenshots of my account, they still insisted they had refunded the whole amount. Finally I have had to get Amex to start proceedings. Will NEVER use them again.
Considering their email address keeps coming back as invalid makes any purchasing questionable.

Ordered a PA for next day delivery but only one speaker arrived. I had to chase them every day for a week(they never once contacted me) to get the other speaker. Eventually I had to give up and ask for a refund……. Who knows if and when i will get it.
They accepted a defective product return without ever telling me thta the plan was to repair, not refund. Poor customer service too
Total disgrace I ordered a guitar scratch plate that should take no longer than a week I must be waiting a month at this stage bad service can't see myself buying from this garbage again! And why only have some orders the country listed I can't see what country some Items come from they arent listed!

I tried to cancel an order within 8 hours or of making it only to be told that the order had ‘already been dispatched.' I found this hard to believe as I made the order at 10pm.
When speaking to another member of staff I was told the order ‘was in the van' and could not be cancelled. The policy of this company is clearly ‘we do not allow you to cancel an order'.
When I asked for the name of the manager I was told he was called ‘Junior'. No surnames we're given as the member of staff "didn't feel comfortable" sharing full names!?
Unbelievable. I could not be transferred to anyone nor could I get any more information. About the manager of the company. I will now have to return an item which I know has not yet been dispatched. This is clearly how this company works in the hope that people won't bother returning items.
I won't use them again and am astounded at the secrecy surrounding the managers.
Disgusting customer relations.
I placed an order for a piano on the 30th Oct for my 6 year old daughter. At the time of purchasing the item was available to deliver within a couple of weeks. My daughter was counting days until the day when the piano was due to be delivered. Unfortunately, the piano was not delivered on the promised day. I called the courier and they said that Gear4Music cancelled me order. I then phoned up Gear4Music and they had no clue of what was happening. The later they called me back to say that the courier had some error and they are returning the piano back to their warehouse. The customer agent said that I have to wait for 2 weeks for the item to return to their warehouse and then another 2 weeks for the same item to be dispatched back to me. The agent said that he spoke to his manager and there is nothing else they can do.
Today I logged into Gear4Music website and it says my order has been cancelled after I have waited for almost 4 weeks. There has not been any communication from Gear4Music whatsoever. Really disappointed, this is a shocking customer service and I am now left in the dark to figure out what is happening. My daughter asks every day when her piano will come...

Received an untunable lute harp. Had to stay in waiting for 10 hours on a bank holiday waiting for DPD collection. No collection! Rescheduled for 2 days later. Gear4music would not dispatch a replacement until they received the faulty item. Replacement finally shipped 06/09 but still no DPD tracking info on 15/09! Still waiting
I bought an item and they not only made me pay for return delivery, but did not return the cost of delivery to myself, which was near £20. What a rip off, I will never buy from this company, I have never paid £27 for an item I did not want and returned to any other company. Never buy from these disreputable people.
I bought the NT1-A Bundle "Brand New" includes stand shield mic and cable. I set it all up for the mic to not be working. Once I inspected the mic I saw the pins (where you plug in the xlr cable) where damaged, one was shorter than the rest another was taller than the rest. Once plugged in it was making picking up funny sounds (white noise maybe).
I called to set up a refund explained I want the package deal but I need the mic fixed. Whoever I spoke to on the phone said fine just send the mic back. I sent it back but heard nothing. I wasn't sure they reviewed it so I contacted DPD. DPD WHO HANDLE THEIR DELIVERIES TOLD US THEY HAVE BEEN DESIGNATED THERE OWN AREA BECAUSE OF THE VOLUME OF RETURNS BECAUSE ITEMS WHERE FAULTY. PERSONALLY I SUSPECT THEY SELL SECOND HAND ITEMS AS BRAND NEW. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME LIKE I DID. IMAGINE IF THIS WAS MY ONLY INCOME (STUDIO TIME) I WOULD BE SCREWED WAITING FOR THESE CON ARTISTS TO PICK IT UP.
Delivery was quick but box has lots of visible signs of wear. Some of the packaged parts inside had clearly been previously opened and resealed, badly, with cellotape. The main 8 track had a button missing from the main panel on track 3. The product was advertised as brand new and an email response confirmed this and suggested various reasons for the worn box. The product clearly was not new and been previously opened and sold on again at a new price. Be very weary on items sold from this supplier as they appear to send on non factory fresh products as brand new at new prices. In this case the one I received had physical faults.
Took 2 payments for same item leaving me badly overdrawn and refuse to take responsibility and resolve issue. Keep passing the buck to my bank. Will not use again
Bought this guitar with high expectations which were smashed by Gear4music, really nice clean guitar with easy assembly and a very nice tone.
One small gripe i would have is to ensure that the wires on the diagram are the same as those in the guitar.
A piece of advice would be to spend the extra £10 to get the ash body as it is a harder wood and will last longer.

Ordered an Ibanez JEM, they took the money but delivered an Epiphone acoustic, so I rang them and arranged a pickup, then waited for email about the location of my actual order. Nothing, so rang again. Was told they didn't know where the order was so they had to email the warehouse. Then a few days later was told it wasn't in stock.So they had taken the money but didn't have it in stock anyway! So I gave them the benefit of the doubt ( I'm too nice) and ordered another Ibanez from them and they suggested to me they would use the money they already had to order it with, i. E. credit note on my Gear4music account. I removed my bank details off my membership account so that they did just use THAT money! Was told a few days later whilst waiting for the next guitar that I owed the money for it! Even though they told me they'd use the original money! Told the telephonist this and they said they'd go and find out what has happened as I was reluctant to pay over the phone until it was sorted their end first.( and I was suspicious of their administration by this point and was reluctant to pay anymore money!). Got the next guitar delivered, and apparently the original amount they had refunded despite me being told otherwise! So instinct told me by this point to check the new guitar over and plug in before paying... and it didn't work, dry soldering or some fault but the electrics didn't work, kept cutting out.So I returned it and didn't pay another penny. Bad admin and stock communication (my emails had no replies and they only phone you if they want money!) AND I suspect their stock is either seconds or refurbished, because to be out of stock when they said they plenty ( shouldn't be advertising them if they have none) and faulty guitars being sold at FULL price! Apparently 5 years to become one of the biggest and cheapest guitar retailers in the UK? No... AVOID... totally.
My laptop was sent back to be repaired under warranty more than one month ago. 2 weeks ago the guy from customer service said "the laptop it's been repaired and we wait to receive it back from the supplier". Today i called them again to ask what's the situation with the laptop. The guy from the customer service said "the supplier it's still looking for issues to fix it". It's so dodgy. Totally disappointed

I've ordered with this company so far twice, I'm in New York and the products arrived in 2 days. Products were as expected and better priced than in USA even with the international ship cost. DHL sent a text which allowed me to sign for package and leave delivery instructions. Very satisfied
