The game shows are so scripted.! They don't teach
Anything. I already knew how to count backwards. Used to be my "happy place"... now I don't bother turning it on.

I watch PBS cooking shows bc it is about cooking, IMO Guy ruined the network with Suzie and Bob by making it a food contest network. They never pick the best cooks for the next food network star and then struggle to find a show for them. Damaris, Eddie Jackson and Lenny McNab are unwatchable and bring nothing to the network. It should be focusing on cooking shows and food trends ie Med diet, low carb and Keto diets. With the exception of chopped I'll be watching ATK and PBS shows, they blow the food and cooking networks away when it comes to dinner ideas and recipes. Which is what I am looking for vs watching a show about people who cant cook.

Just finished watching The Kitchen, and I just can't look at Sunny Anderson when this show is on. She is ALWAYS talking with chewed food in and on her mouth. It's not ok, and shouldn't happen in my opinion. Food Network in general is OK sometimes (Beat Bobby Flay is good), but there's so much repetition and more Guy Fieri than is needed (although I do like him). FN needs to infuse some new, fun, and different food shows.

Just Not The Same
June 25, 2017

As many before me have stated, the programming has changed for the worst. The game shows and the competitions are TERRIBLE! The kids cooking/baking/grilling is by far the most annoying television I have ever had the pleasure of changing the channel on! Come on! Kids that age barely have a palate past box macaroni and cheese. And the annoying commentating by these kids, that is clearly and poorly scripted is enough to make me want to ruin my perfectly good television.
I want to watch the "Food Network" to learn about and appreciate new tastes, techniques and ideas. I want to watch the experts do what they do! No one needs to be judged, (And don't get me started on the smug, evil eyeing, rude judges that make the rounds on these desperate shows).
I love Bobby Flay, he is your keeper. He's real, inspirational, diverse and not putting on the airs, dressing up in the theme, or smiling with all 32 teeth in his face while pronouncing each noodle, cheese or herb with a fake accent.
Please have a BIG executive meeting about what you think is the best content for your network and then do NONE OF IT! Instead, listen to the people and give them what they want! It's that easy!

Black people and people of color barely gets shows or win on the Food Network, especially when Ree Drummond, Amanda Freitag and Geoffrey Zakarian are judging or hosting. I'm sick of seeing these cooks/chefs with (Bobby Flay) included. I've been watching the Food Network for over 10 years and you can always guess who's going to win a competition when these three are judging!

Wrong choice. It should have been Damino. A pastry chef would be great. Enough of Triple D. And cup cakes wars And repeats. Food Network has lost its way.

I loved the idea how to make an ice bucket by GZ. You can also use the buckets, winter only, outside with candles inside of them. Did this in N. H. when I lived there :)

Can we please honor the beginning of our existence without MEAT! I honestly enjoy the network and truly miss the "BAM KING", Emeril. I also love Triple D & G, however, it would be a dream to see folks compete in creating some tantalizing vegetarian happiness!

I think it's crazy that the kitchen panel can't taste each others food. I'm sure they are COVID-19 vaccinated or regularly tested. They're like family. Why can't they all eat what is made?

I can't believe how terrible The Food Network has become. There was an entire show (Kid's Baking Championship) about "macaroons" but they were making macarons. They are 2 totally different desserts.

To set the record straight: the word "macaron" is not an alternate spelling of macaroon. In fact, the two terms refer to distinctly different things. Both macarons and macaroons are confections, and both names are derived from ammaccare, which is Italian for "to crush" but that's where the similarities end.

Valerie thinks that macaroon is the American pronunciation of macaron. Omg. She also pronounces mascarpone as marscapone. The network is now filled with total hacks!

Bring back Paula Dean
October 22, 2017

I just spent my Sunday morning watching Food Network, I am very disappointed with all of your southern replacements for Ms. Dean. They all seem to pale in comparrison to her "spark." Damaris, Farmhouse Rules and Trisha are super boring and their recipes have been done over and over again. I used to be glued to Food Network. The only star you have with a draw is Guy. He keeps you entertained. Please tuck your tail between your legs and go apologize to her. Please bring her back. I know I can not be the only one who feels this way. Your network is drowning with these boring hosts. Paula was like everyone else more down to earth and believable than living on a 200 acre ranch in Montana. Please give Guy with the personality more shows and less air time to the robots of your network. Some constructive criticism. I am a physical therapist and my entire group used to watch FN on our lunch hour, not anymore. I know my patients respond better to a therapist with a sense of humor and someone down to earth than others who are too polished and mechanical. Sorry if harsh want to be a loyal watcher again. It was brutal

Nothing to watch
January 17, 2019

My sister, daughter, daughter-in-laws and friends USED to watch the Food network channel and discuss shows, recipes and share them with one another. What a waste of time this channel has become to watch! Seriously, "Beat Bobby Flay"? Do you think anyone cares about that, let alone watching him can put you to sleep. He has NO personality! Also, any "star" that gets bored with their career or wants new recognition, seems to become a Food network star on that show. No one cares about how Valarie, Trisha, etc. cooks. Non of them know any more about cooking than the moon itself. What used to be informative and fun, has become repetitious and boring! And, it's not just our opinion because we can't even discuss the show with other people. Such as our neighbors, church woman, etc. Can't find anyone that watches it anymore. Even the show Chopped has become a joke. So sad, the concept was fun at the beginning. It's become all about the judges and not the contestants. This show is a lot like the Taste of Home magazine. They to have become repetitious and boring. Same stuff, just under a new name.
I would give Food network "zero" stars, if it was a choice. Just sad!

The Network is on a downhill slide. Every time I turn around Guy Fieri has a new show! Why? He is not a good cook, I ate in his restaurant in NYC even BEFORE it got the horrible reviews. Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is on for 24 hours on the weekend. Who gave the Network the idea that this arrogant, condescending person is that popular?
I still enjoy The Barefoot Contessa and Valerie Bertinelli. I also kinda like The Pioneer Woman, even though the wannabee cowboys sitting around the dinner table in filthy cowboy hats is a definite turnoff. Also delivering food to the family on the range where they are handle cows and "cow patties" then grabbing food without the benefit of a hand sanitizer is a definite YUK! It's time for some new talent and less of Guy Fieri! PLEASE!

Another Game Show?
March 26, 2020

What happened to cooking? First, you overloaded us with Pioneer Woman and now it's all Guy and his son. Where are Barefoot Contessa, and all the others who were helping me to cook?

Date of experience: March 26, 2020

Overview

The company's reputation is increasingly tarnished by customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from perceived declines in programming quality and a lack of engaging content. Viewers express frustration over repetitive shows, perceived arrogance from hosts, and a shift away from the original cooking-centric focus. Additionally, customers report poor customer service, citing unresponsive support regarding issues such as lost recipes. While some fans still appreciate select shows, the overall sentiment indicates a longing for a return to the network's foundational values of culinary education and inspiration, suggesting a need for significant content and service improvements.
