This app is useless now I'm sorry to say. I will have to find an app that is reliable and allows me to add movies to my watch list and then be able to review them. I've lost a lot of data and it doesn't work anymore. I cannot believe how horrible this update is. I would give them a zero rating if I could.
I used to dep nd on Flixster to help me and my wife plan both our theater and home movie watching. The lists of movies reviewed was extensive.
Now the site contains about 1/6th of the titles in the list and the movies listed - especially in the home section - are ones Ive never even heard of.
I cant be more disappointed. Bad, Fandango, bad!
I have used flixster for over 9yrs, loved using it! Especially on trips with kids but then comes along the deal of combining the UV account... all my movies just vanished. I have repeatedly contacted customer service they were very rude, short, and way off topic on what my concern was. IE- they gave me a lengthy detail on how to connect my UV and flixster account. I responded back but I have heard nothing. After all my business I finally just deleted my account; no sorry to see you go or why are you leaving. They just deleted and gone. They couldn't care less about their customers.
I used flixster religiously. Not only did I get Rotten ratings and reviews but I was able to see what was on in each cinema; I soon hilighted my favourite cinemas. This upgrade fails to capture the cinemas - a key to its usefulness in the uk. Ill be dumping it. From favourite and useful app to useless.
I am horrified at the new version are they kidding I use to go on and see the movies now you can just throw this version into the trash can where it belongs I would just love to meet the genius behind this zero stars
I tried to email support for my passwiord due to changed emails and they will not answer me. It has been many days and still nothing. There live chat is down, and no link. I have dozens of movies and they are lost in this flister showdown. I have requested email change support in the emails sent. I do not know what to do but go all out on the net with the request or report to someone else.

No news flash there, but it did not start out this way. The ownership of the site has taken a useful exercise and rendered it less effective. Increasing the number of critics (of dubious credibility) from sources that are obscure, they have watered down the concentration of honesty and objectivity. All done under the guise of freedom of speech and the decline of newspaper circulation… it's wrong-headed, and prevents the site from being reliable and accurate. Super hero sequels and other franchises don't need the help. A viewer should be able to go in and get an upfront opinion. That is not what is happening. I know the studios spend big budgets on their offerings. That's part of the game. Rigging the reporting isn't an approach that should be tolerated.
Great movie site - Flixster is a community for movie fans to rate movies and share with friends. Its one of the biggest on the web and they have everything from movie lists and quizzes to forums. I love watching the huge library of clips from any movie and seeing the cool skins people create for movies and actors. Also, its fun to browse around and meet other users whose taste is very compatible with mine.
I am glad Flixster exists. There needs to be delivery services and consolidators for UV movies. I like flixster and have had no problems. The negative reviews on this site are unjustified. Keep Flixster alive!
The website doesn't accept my password when I enter it. So thinking I forgot it, I requested an email to reset said password. Then a requested another, and another. It never arrived to any of my inboxes, after double checking to see that my email was in fact correct, I complained to them. The lady that responded had no problem sending me an email saying that she will send another password reset email to me, but I waited and waited and it never came. Even more frustrating is that now, whenever I try to request a password reset, it says "your answer to this security question was incorrect." Even though all I did was click the I forgot my password button. Flixster is messed up, and full of glitches, it has seriously been a waste of money.
I dislike the how the new movies are laid out, DVD and cinema. Specifically the DVDs. The history of release dates doesnt go back far enough and the new release dates do not flow well. I used Flixster multiple times per days as avid movie watchers... Im searching for the my new movie app unless Flixster fixes the problem soon.
The recent upgrade makes this app worthless. I have 3 theaters within 15 miles of my home and none of them will appear. This makes the app completely useless to me. What used to be a very user-friendly and helpful app is now a joke. I'm dumping it.
The most annoying to me is that the part of the app for "movies I want to see" is all messed up. Movies I haven't selected are there as well as movies I've already rated.
Flixster is limiting itself to Marcus theaters as far as 60 miles away and a couple of AMC. No Independent or Landmark theaters much closer. I'm done with Flixster.
Used Flixster for years - the new Flixster is totally unusable for me. Three of our local theatres are not even listed now and there seems to be no way to add them. Of the theaters that are on, the new format is very confusing and you cannot see the critic and users ratings easily. I even tried to write a review on their site and it wouldnt send.
Will no longer be using in its present format.
I have three movies on ultraviolet. I had to use flixster to watch them. Their software wouldn't let me log in. So to be same I reset my password. Still it wouldn't let me in. So then I made a totally new account still it wouldn't let me in. It literally won't let me watch my movies. So now I'm streaming the movie which I own. Oh and downloading it would have taken 45 mins.
Seriously they are so frustrating. What a waste of life.
Don't waste your time. It's a $#*! company. DONT USE THEM.
The app gets a rating of 1 because there was no 0. The worst update ever. No movie synopsis. Tries to overthink me and wont let me keep favorite movie theatres around the country. I guess Suckster thinks I only see movies at one theatre in the country. Please go back to the other app. This app is useless.
Use Flixster via my ROKU box. They use to be a big help to get previews of movies at local theaters. But now I get a lot of nonsense about entering and access code via my home PC. I tried to follow the instructions to enter the code but the try to hook me on to some UltraViolet stuff that I don't want.
What gives?
Does not show all movies at theaters. Does not show all the theaters in area. Poorly laid out. Used to be do simple to use. Now it is useless. Had to look up info in newspaper. Would use no stars if available.
My favorite movie community - I used to have Netflix, and one of my favorite features was Netflix.com where I could write little movie reviews and share them with my friends. But I got too busy and canceled my Netflix account, so I nowhere to write reviews. Then I got spammed by one of my friends on Facebook by some app called Flixster. But I'm a sucker for movies, so I clicked on it, and now I'm hooked. All my movie addicted friends joined too, and now we all share reviews and pictures. It's great. I also like their movie quizzes. My only complaint is that I waste way too much time on this... I think I need help!
