I have been a long time user of Fiverr for many years. I have bought many gigs and supported many of my favorite gigs over the years. And I woke up to an email saying that my account has been deleted and cannot be restored. They apparently did some investigation and through their results had deemed my account to be disabled. Of course they didn't reach out to me, or perhaps let me know of what was happening. They just decided that my account would be deleted. Really disappointed in this company. And the email was almost rude in a way saying that your account has been disabled and this cannot be undone, and do not contact customer support for this. They just deleted my account without any reasoning whatsoever. All they say is that it went against their terms, but of course they don't actually State anything specific. I probably use Fiverr on a weekly basis especially for my business for all kinds of things. I have happily used it and recommended it over the years.
UPDATE:
Since my account was deleted with no reason whatsoever provided, I decided I would set up a new account and start all over. I just created a new account, with my business email and the only thing I did was verify my email. That was it. Two days later I get an email saying how that new account is now disabled for violating their terms of service. The only thing I did was verify my email which Fiverr is the one who told me I had to. So how can I violate your terms of service for doing literally the thing you told me to do.
It's the worst place where you can find big words for their service but will surely turn out to beat you down. If you don't believe me, you'll pay the price.
I agree with the comments about potentially exploiting talented individuals for little pay but hey, no one if forcing folks to sign up to sell their skills and it does provide a commercial arena to build ones experience. What I have the biggest issue with is the fact that they use copyrighted artwork and music illegally potentially putting the buyer at risk for legal action and damages. I have notified them of this on several occasions and still they offer gigs like "The Minions" BE VERY CAREFUL - it doesn't matter that they sold it to you, if you use it, you own that use and are subject to legal actions against you.
I HAVE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW STUPID THEY ARE. JUST BECAUSE I WAS SELLING VPN THEY ACCUSED ME THAT I MADE FAKE ACCOUNTS TO BUY MY GIG AND MY ACCOUNT WAS DISABLED.
DON'T EVEN THINK TO USE THIS SITE YOU PAY THEM FOR SECURITY WITH 20% FROM YOUR REVENUE AND THEY WILL F*CK YOU OVER
A web designer was supposed to improve my Wix website so that it would look more professional. After many days of trying to get him to do the work, he delivered a website with errors on which I was to email him to fix the errors. I asked him why I couldn't edit the website myself. He said it was because I needed to learn "code". I reminded him that I asked him to make a website like I had on Wix, which I could edit. He said I would need to pay more money to make the website editable. This had been my request from the start.
I asked him for the refund. He refused. I gave him a review based on the situaiton. He said he would not give me a refund unless I removed the review. I informed customer service about the situation. They sent me back to him and kept asking the same quesiton over and over. I called my bank. They refunded my money. Fiverr terminated my account because they said I should not have engaged my bank. Are you kidding me?
Contracted someone to do some work for me on there site $1400 and the best customer service did for me was a $400 credit that has to be used in 90 days and best of all they let the freelancer keep conducting business on there site. I ADVISE YOU TO TRY YOUR LUCK WITH UPWORK HOPEFULLY YOU WILL HAVE BETTER LUCK.
This company steal from their customers. They overcharged my account for $96 and refuse to refund me. When I brought up disputing with my credit card and filing a police report, I was threatened with legal procedures. They stated because I used their service, I agreed to a privacy policy that stated I can't dispute. I have never ever seen this privacy policy/... PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THAT COMPANY. $96 sounds like a small amount but you could be their next victim and it could be worse.
If you are a freelancer who likes having 20% of your earnings taken from you for each order you get, Fiverr is for you. If you like building an entire client base from the ground up for years and then having them all stripped away and your account blocked for no reason, Fiverr is for you. If you want to complete hours and hours of work, only to have the customer cancel the order once they've received said work (essentially for free now) then Fiverr is for you. This company has screwed me so many times I can't even count them. I had 100+ five star reviews, several orders a day, and happy customers. Then they decided my editing services didn't align with their standards anymore and shut me down in a matter of a day. Never contacted me, just erased me. Thus, I lost my main source of income. They are the worst platform for freelancers that I have ever seen. Totally and completely unethical company who takes a huge part of your earnings even though you do 100% of the work. This company is a leech on the hardworking freelance world. STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN!
BUYER BEWARE! Really BAD Buyer experience! REALLY! Requested a refund of my funds and was setup up as a Expense on their end and EARNINGS on my end. Epic Fraud! The services are a absolute Ripoff of both your time and Money, I opted to pay higher prices as I didnt care for a $5 service. 450 for 60 second animation video, they delivered my competition product in the video Name and all? I provided specific instructions, What a joke. Epic Failure!
I "hired" someone to make a logo, paid extra for 24 hour turnaround of first proof. Had nothing after 36 hours. Asked for refund. Got that, but found out that Fiverr does NOT allow you to get your money back. They, in fact, KEEP your money as "credit." Also found out that you can only use said credit on an amount that is the same or less than what you have. So I had $25 in and wanted to hire a new person for $30. Sorry, can't use the credit! SO I stupidly paid another $30 for another person to make a logo. I told him EXACTLY what I wanted, sent a pic of something similar, he gave me literally nothing that I asked for and even spelled my company name wrong. Five go-rounds with the same guy later and he "delivers" and then somehow closes the gig. I paid for 2 logos, only got 1.
I left the guy horrible feedback after he refused to communicate with me, and then he left feedback saying I was horrible and no one should work with me, meanwhile he has my money and I have 1 logo that is sort of-ish OK when I paid for 2. He then contacted me and said that if I left him positive feedback he would refund my money. I sent that on to Fiverr support and they said "just do what he asks." So, apparently, it is A-OK to extort good reviews from customers. The best part? Now they have $55 of my money in the form of a store credit that I will never use. A**holes. DO NOT USE.
FIVERR FRAUD COMMENT
Yes, definitely fiverr is a great scam community. Remember fiverr moderators are very cheap and irresponsible. They are always for byers side becoz
If buyer dispute payment from paypal then your money deducted from your fiverr wallet and money will be refunded to buyer and, our work and time goes
Waste. I have requested and created ticket too much time but they were never responded correctly. In last i leave hope to get money back. And i lost
My $65. In my suggestion to all seller dont sell your service in fiverr, search other best communities. Your money is not safe in fiverr and there
Are many strict rules provided day by day for sellers on fiverr. FIVER IS FRAUD COMMUNITY.
Fiverr is now full of low quality providers and the whole platform is about money, not about quality. You feel like everyone wants your wallet without giving anything back. Avoid.
Great design of the website, people are quick to respond. Yes, sometimes you don't get what you want, but overall, I was always satisfied with the quality of work there.
I love review sites on companies that are trying to scam people, and from reading the reviews this appears to be one of those companies. Thank you for the warnings.
If you're looking for a great animator to handle your 3D animation project, you can reach out to: fiverr.com/abdek2020. He really did a professional work for me and my team.
Keep your money. I have dealt with quite a few (about 10) different sellers on this platform over the years. I was always thinking to save money, and help some less fortunate people out at the same time. I had faith and kept looking for a seller with an ounce of decency. They are no where to be found. The sellers will try to rip you off at the drop of a hat.
The very worst scenario is a project with payment milestones. Once a seller has received some payment, they now own you. They will try to get you off the platform, ask to send money directly to their bank... Stop working, delay after delay... have you believe they will continue,... etc... etc... Finally they will need more money to continue... "ALL" the sellers will act as though they care, and they are good people... DON'T BUY IT. Every seller I have had the displeasure of dealing with, are scammers.
The company (Fiverr) have told me that sellers will get banned for violations etc... Total B.S... Sellers can open new accounts so easily in other peoples names, emails, addresses, bank accounts etc...
Now with all of this being said, my projects have been copywriting and web related projects. So I can not comment other industry participants. But regarding my projects, I found Bangladesh and Pakistan sellers to be the worst, and Indian and African sellers not far behind... People from these countries prey on western people.
Hire local... Know who you are dealing with! In the long run you will save money and be much safer.
Good Luck!
Be very cautious when using this app. A Fivver seller blocked me from my own website, he actually changed my password and username because he was angry at my review. I initially gave him a 3 out of 5 because he said he would take 48 hrs, which took 6 weeks. He was sick, technical issues, never responded for days and constantly did the wrong things from my requests. After my review he threatened me to change my number to a higher number or he'd do harm to himself. He told me I ruined his life forever and I'm a cheat. He also blocked any of my viewers from any content on my website from destroying my menu bar. Fivver, is crediting my money back from this seller and "allowing" me to hire another Fivver seller to fix this major problem and "generously" giving me a 10% discount.
This is a fraudulent company who supports criminal sellers. He used my username and password to change and block me out of my own website permanently. He erased content and is still writing me threatening messages privately and all over my social media.
Seller posted that the order was complete without actually submitting any product. Now I am being charged for it. What a ripoff! I will never even consider using fiverr again.
I created a seller account on Fiverr - from account creation to date, I've been unceasingly inundated with scam gig requests. I'm a data scientist, and offer freelance machine learning dev experience on the side. Literally every request except one that I've received - and I get them daily - has been some variation on the following theme: "I (buyer) and from (some foreign country) and want you (seller) to set up a fake account for me on (gigging platform) because (bogus reasons ranging from work visas to online censorship)."
There exists no means for sellers to report scam requests, and therefore I'm stuck dealing with these messages until the accounts behind them are banned. And in spite of what Fiverr claims, this DOES impact my response rating on-app (not all scams are caught), which currently sits at 60% despite my perfect non-scammer rapport.
See attached my entire message log. Literally every message excepting one is from a scammer. The one non-scam account that did message me was asking me to commit academic plagiarism; that's not much better:(
Fiverr is either in WAY over their head with this, or willfully negligent at maintaining a positive environment for their sellers. All it would take is one machine learning intern with a substandard message dataset to build a spam filter for these sorts of things - Fiverr, if you're reading this (and I suspect you aren't), I'll build it for you.
Answer: I used Fiverr for my company logo. The guy lives in Vietnam and speak minimal English. I paid for an upgraded package with an unlimited amount of revisions, 3 original logos, stationary and Facebook as well as Twitter page covers. What does unlimited mean if a revision takes 24 hours and each revision is correcting spelling mistakes or telling him you don't want a green dog in your logo, I want a natural looking dog. His response is "you choose font and gives you a pale old lady stockings colour dog" instead of a white Dalmatian with black dots or a brown German Shepard. In the end I used an online translator to translate my requests from English to Vietnamese. He told me to sketch something and he'd make something. If I could sketch something then I would do my own logo. The one logo that I liked was the one I gave him all my ideas for. All he did was put it together in the right format. I was so frustrated with his other two attempts that I said ok give me the first logo with stationary and everything I've paid for. I got the most basic design, no stationary or headers. Did I go through customer service? OF COURSE! Throughout this whole ordeal. I described every little detail. Each time a different person would reply and say "I can understand your frustration and I will contact him". Only to have him return with the same dog in orange or turquoise and every time customer service would spit out the same line "I can understand your frustration and I will contact him. We see he is responding to you within 24 hours so for us that means you are trying to work things out. I want my money back! Sorry we can't give you your money back. The seller has received his money and its up to him to give you any money back if he so chooses. It was a dreadful experience. I ended up using an online logo maker and I loved it. PLUS it actually cost less. I'm now doing my own website. If you have the patience then try to do it yourself. Do NOT skimp on your website. The way the world is run today you want your website and all social media presence to correctly reflect your quality. If at the end I'm not happy with my website I will go to a professional and pay what it costs. Hope this helped and good luck
Answer: I know I have to wade through a lot of questionable sellers to get a good one. Happy hunting. There are good ones out there though.
Answer: All I can say id Fiverr is the BIGGEST SCAM going. Had to dispute the charges through my bank to get the money back
Answer: Stay far away from fiverr. I paid a guy to do some work and proved with third party techniques they used bots for fake views to my site. Yet this guy had many many great reviews. You cannot trust this site whatsoever. Stick with paypal as you most likely will get nowhere with fiverr.
Answer: If you want a site designed to steal credit card data from hard-working, civilized people, please use Fiverr. It is designed for one thing: to take your credit card data and leave you to deal with a mess. More details, reply or search for my previous posts.
Answer: I can only imagine you got swindled and feel bad about the fact you trusted someone. Don't feel bad, you did nothing wrong. There are sites who take the time to vet their sellers and then there are sites like Fiverr who let's anyone to join with zero check on their credentials. The entry into selling on Fiverr is so easy that it borders on ridiculousness. Anyone can lie about their location, experience, education, and just about any credentials. Some of them are really clever and mask their fake profile pictures and gig descriptions really well. Fiverr is so secretive about their vetting process, which I seriously doubt there is anything in writing, that you can't trust it. The seller's level is a joke - I've gotten cheated by ones with thousands of reviews. How they received literally a thousand or more review is mind boggling. Go back and check again, you'll notice like 99.9% of the million or so sellers all have 5 star reviews. All legitimate businesses have a combination of good and bad reviews, most average around 3/5 or if they are a really great business 4/5 but for a large company with like a million or so freelancers with zero credentials having 5/5 pretty much tells you there is something wrong. Like I said, you did nothing wrong. I hope you didn't lose too much money. Their philosophy is "We don't care how crappy the delivery was as long as the seller delivered you don't get your money back."
Answer: The answer is plain simple NO! You will get your followers, yes! But they are all bots, so you will lose 90% of the followers the same week, might as well throw this 5 bucks in the air.
Answer: There is very little in the world that is unique. You have to trust or spend a lot more $$$ or do it yourself
Answer: I would suggest having nothing whatsoever to do with Fiverr. When things go wrong - and that happens a LOT - there is no customer support line to call. They make it very difficult (in my own case, impossible) to resolve any problems. Read the evaluation reviews- they are extremely negative. My advice: find another site on which to offer your services. DG
Answer: I've had 28 orders and all but two were very satisfactory. Most were PDFform building or business card templates, but I had s few design logos for me then used the one I liked. Buyers: it's cheap. Remember that. When the service is good I tip generously then use the same person. I get great service, often in one day. When I order, I add express service and have yet to be disappointed. It's a business model without customer service. Face it. If you want customer service, go to Nordstroms or Nieman Marcus. Do a better job selecting your service provider; be clear in the order, and overpay.
Fiverr has a rating of 1.6 stars from 1,132 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Fiverr most frequently mention customer service, credit card and low quality. Fiverr ranks 107th among Freelancing sites.
