I recently purchased a ticket from Event Ticket Center, believing I was buying from an official vendor. Their website was the first result in my search, and since I was looking for a ticket to a specific event, I assumed they were the primary seller. However, I later discovered that I had paid $181.55 for a ticket that another vendor was selling for $62.50—nearly three times the price!
Only after the purchase did I realize that Event Ticket Center is a reseller, not the official ticket provider. If I had known this earlier, I would have checked other sources before committing to the purchase. I feel that their pricing and marketing practices are misleading, and I wish I had been given clearer information before making my decision.
When I reached out to request a refund due to the significant price discrepancy, I was informed that all sales are final. They offered a partial credit instead, but with a restocking fee, and the credit could only be used on their website. In my opinion, this does not seem like a fair resolution, as it forces customers to continue using their platform despite the high markups.
Concerns About Pricing and Marketing Tactics
Search Result Placement – Their website appeared at the very top of my search results. Whether this was due to paid ads, SEO tactics, or another factor, the result was that I mistakenly believed they were an official ticket vendor.
Pricing Discrepancies – I was charged nearly three times what another vendor was asking for the same section and row. I was not aware at the time that I was buying from a reseller.
Lack of Transparency – Nowhere during checkout was it made explicitly clear that Event Ticket Center is not the primary ticket seller. If I had seen a clear disclaimer, I would have reconsidered my purchase.
Strict No-Refund Policy – Even in cases where customers realize they paid a much higher price, Event Ticket Center does not provide refunds, only store credit with fees deducted.

Check multiple sources before purchasing tickets—go directly to the venue's official website or well-known primary ticket sellers.
Be cautious with search results—the first result is not always the official seller, and it's important to verify before buying.

More expensive than expected. I believed I was on the venue's website.
I purchased tickets for the Golden State Ballet Nutcracker for me and my daughters. Turns out I purchased for the wrong date.
I tried to contact customer service and unlike other sites, Ticketmaster, AXE, Stubhub, they were literally nowhere to be found. Somehow through two days of persistence, I found an angle.
Unlike other sites, I could just third party sell them. I had to go through their site and it's one I have never heard of. This, I was unable to sell 7 tickets that were in high demand and electronically deliverable because Event Tickets took my listing down a day ahead claiming that they wanted to give buyers enough time to obtain tickets. They are electronically delivered!
So now I am out $1100 and nobody is getting to use the site as there is not even an option to transfer the tickets to friends for free. Few options and difficult to navigate. I got screwed and I'm not a novice user.
This site is horrible. If you see it, walk away.
