Fraudulent Company
August 31, 2023

I was overcharged. Not only were the ticket prices triple the venue's prices, but I never agreed to the price they charged me. I have gone back and forth with them without this matter being corrected. Normally when you purchase tickets, you receive an e-mail receipt that states what you are being charged. I was never sent that information, and was shocked to see my credit card billed for over $300. Do not use this company.

I paid for tickets using Eventbrite for an event near me, where all prices were listed in Canadian. I was then charged that price in American, (so charged $400 rather than the appropriate $280), and given tickets with someone else's information on them. When I reached out to Eventbrite to rectify this issue, they asked for my name and credit card number and stated they didn't have any orders from me. When I asked if they wanted my receipt or order number, they ghosted me.

I had to contact both my bank to dispute this and now wait 8 weeks to get my money back, and the venue, to get tickets at the proper price as they stated I was not the first person this happened to for this event.

Don't know how this company is legally allowed to be in business still.

Rip off
October 12, 2022

I registered with Eventbrite and paid for a speed dating event with them. The address for it was actually the 7/11. I sent messages asking about the venue for the event and no one responded. There was not any info given for a contact person to call. Simply put they took my money and I got absolutely nothing from it. I will never sign up for anything with them again. Rip off alert.

They don't deserve even one star. When I accessed their site to sign up for a free event, the signing up went fine, but no ticket was forthcoming, though it looked like one was trying to come up. OK, so I just printed out their email to use as a ticket. But then I needed to change the show time. Impossible. There is NO WAY to contact them. They have no phone, no email, no live chat - though one had been posted - and no facebook, etc., etc. After searching and searching on their website, I sent a message via what looked like a client form. No result. Will never use them again for any reason.

OK for 'one off' events
January 12, 2015

OK for 'one off' events - but NOT suitable for repeat events. Eventbrite change things all the time without informing you and will LOCK your events - creating new listings to reflect the changes. This means if you use eventbrite widgets to embed events on your own website you are screwed - as the widget breaks. This has happened to me 3 times in 12 months so I have abandoned eventbrite in favour of a self hosted solution which has saved me a lot of money already.

Cancelled events
December 25, 2018

This holiday season it is a routine thing for events listed on Eventbrite to be cancelled at the very last minute. Venues of all types cancel their published event within a day or so of the listed time for the function. In many cases the money is refunded, but not all. Some of the holiday events this season should have been cancelled as well and were not. I'd show up and there would be very few people present but the party or event was allowed to continue. Very hit or miss with Eventbrite and mostly a miss.

Buyer Beware
August 1, 2023

I bought 4 ticket for the Edward Twins through Eventbrite. There were 3 tiers of tickets, $60, $70, & $90. I bought the $70 tickets, ($76.54 with service charge). I expected to be seated somewhere in the middle of the venue. We were seated in the furthest back seats, from which we could not even see the faces of the performers. When I called Eventbrite, the person I spoke to, Paul, said they have no control of the seating, that no one else complained, (all 10 people at our table complained), and that I should have bought the $90 tickets. I have always purchased tickets directly from the venue, but had no choice for this show. I will not make the same mistake again.

November 4, 2019

I don't want to even give 1* to this company! But had to, so I could leave a review. Avoid this company like the plague! I won't go to any more events if these are the ticket agents! Miss leading information so overcharged, shocking customer service! When you eventually get a reply, they are Very rude and unhelpful.

Ripoff
September 23, 2017

They facilitate the sales of events where the actual organizer of the event never agreed to that. So someone is making money on selling people fake tickets and Eventbrite takes it's cut and runs! How is this business still operating after years of ripping people off is beyond me!

Event Brite is designed for the benefit of the organizer. They can sell anything (concert/event tickets) however they want (with promises they don't have to fulfill like VIP amenities). If you don't get the service the way it was intended they still will not help you. They will tell you to contact the organizer. The website is only designed to get your money for the planner and for eventbrite to get processing fees (I paid $150 in fees). You will get charged two ways to use their service VIP tickets for me totaled at $1,150. Don't buy any concert or event tickets unless you are ok with ANY result. Just know that customer service only will take messages and phone calls from people who are planning an event. Not people who are actually trying to get help. I didn't get the full amenities of my VIP ticket and nothing was done about it ($940 wasted).

We used to be able to contact customer support by telephone anytime and got good service from them, but now it is impossible to contact them by telephone and their 48 hour turnaround of emailed concerns seems to be only a number. Not only were they very slow in responding but did not address my question and when I asked for clarification on the main question, they did not respond at all. Very concerned as I have two active events and am just finding out that they do not seem to be the company that I dealt with when I first started hosting events.

A god damn goat rodeo
October 27, 2018

Purchased tickets to syd cbd mushroom racing. Well Jesus Christ what a mess. All the communication has been confusing, messy and unclear. Definitely were mislead into thinking the racing would be in cbd however is in eastern creek (massive difference) for how expensive this is this is rubbish. 100% want a refund as this has been so poorly organised and I have zero interest in attending due to how bad the communication and wrong info has been.

I purchased a 90 minute Chicago architectural tour through LivingSocial and Eventbrite on May 17,2017. It is now June 26 and the August date that I require is not yet available. August dates will not even be posted until (by) July 15. That is 2 months after purchase and I have no confidence that my date will even be available. In addition, I cannot plan anything else for that date because I don't know what time the cruise can be booked, if at all.

I have contacted Eventbrite and they referred me back to LivingSocial. LivingSocial refuses to do anything because the purchase from Eventbrite is non-refundable. Seriously? I can't book it and I can't get my money back.

Steer clear. Run.

Worst experience I've had in my life. Charged over 240$ per ticket and did not live up to their ad description of what the event should have been. Unprofessional stab at performing, mediocre dinner with no beverage other than water. BUT, 2 huge cash bars set up - larger than the entertainment booths which were a joke! Do not waste your money with this. Friends have found other events cash grabs and offering not much in return. If you want to throw money away, sign up for Eventbrite events. Toronto, ONT

EventBrite has been consistently denying conservative organizations from promoting their programs. Specifically, Daily Wire and Matt Walsh have been denied the ability to screen their documentary, "What is a Woman." EventBrite provided no justifiable reason for banning the documentary. So, EventBrite should simply be hit in the wallet. We should boycott them and take our business elsewhere. Virtue signaling needs to be penalized. Once EventBrite discovers the financial impact of its bad decisions, then perhaps it will become an honest service provider.

I didn't mind Eventbrite in the past but the new design is challenging to find features like 'preview' event. Oh, getting a screen shot I did find the preview - it is put in a strange place where no one thinks to look. They added an organisers section to organise different people in a group, company or community for their events. Just made more work for me. Why worked fine without it. Also, the help section isn't helpful, contact well if you can find help great, but otherwise, I'm moving to another event publishing platform. **Does Microsoft own this company? Otherwise, why would you copy Microsofts newish software layout? Not pretty so why is Eventbrite doing it with the 2 initials in a circle to display the user?

Lost several hundred dollars on cancelled or disingenuous event ticketed through Eventbrite. Where as other ticketing solutions go above and beyond to protect their customers, Eventbrite seems to be the exact opposite... It is faceless and baseless. They seemed to do very little to authenticate the event to which they were selling tickets... Found out after the fact that the promoter did not even secure the listed venue... If you have other options for your event, explore them...

It's obvious they do not care about their customers AT ALL. I guess they got in bed with Facebook years ago and are just riding out the income generation this crappy webiste creates with no desire to improve their product at all. I made a simple request over a year ago for them to add a bulk delete feature so you could get rid of your old events and they still have not done it. This is EASY stuff for any mid-level programmer to accomplish. So be prepared to click and update the same things over and over and over again to get anything accomplished. If you contact customer service, they will do nothing.

This company needs to be SHUT DOWN. They changed the date of an event for tickets that I had already purchased. I couldn't attend during the new date. They claimed a full refund would be given within 7 days... it's been 2 months and will NOT respond to any correspondence. 0 customer service. PATHETIC. Will never purchase tickets for any future events they are advertising and strongly suggest you save yourself the hassle. Your money would be better used to wipe yours $#*! than to "donate" it to this business who's stealing it and using it for god knows what
