WARNING
August 16, 2018

DO NOT PURCHASE CELL PHONE INSURANCE WITH ESURRANTY.NET OR ESURRANTY.COM i've never been a victim of a scam before this is awful i lost almost $500...

Always looking for alternatives and bothered with how expensive Sprint's warranty was, I found Esurranty as an option to cover my new phone. I checked out their website and quickly scanned their reviews online and found that people have been having primarily negative reviews with them, but I decided to go with them because I figured I was going to be paying in full and that I'd never need the insurance because in my many years of having a cell phone I'd never broke anything. Further, I liked the idea of supporting a small company. So on 5/7/18 I got this policy. Of course, as luck would have it, I dropped my phone and cracked my screen about a month later. It took an unbelievable amount of time, energy, and stress to get anyone to give me a straight answer about whether or not I was covered (no one will answer the phone, live chats are only seldom responded to, and you will never get an explicit or direct answer. In giving vague and delayed responses, they are trying to set you up to evade being held accountable). Finally after two weeks it was determined that I was covered, so I submitted a claim on 6/20... Rick Lewis the 'claims manager' said it was processed and the refund check was in the mail (they give you the choice to send in your device or have your costs repaired). On 7/13, I still hadn't gotten anything in the mail, and they were nonresponsive to all of my phone calls, 'live chats' and emails, so I opened a case with the BBB. The BBB was helpful in eliciting responses, yet although they finally explained why 'tax wasn't being reimbursed', the BBB route was unsuccessful in facilitating the check being sent. On 7/20/18, I sent Mr. Rick Lewis a final email cautioning him I would be pursing litigious routes if nothing would be sent to me. I got an incredibly unprofessional email back- equating a toddler's temper tantrum and stating that a certified mail requiring my signature would be sent. On August 6th, still, nothing was in the mail... I resubmitted a request to the BBB requesting a tracking number, to which Esurranty responded back irrelevantly. Because of this, I am currently pursuing other avenues and have not had any check sent in the mail to me as of yet...
A simple google search of the owner's name will pull up some quite alarming websites (including correctional institutions in Miami) that people have put together over the years... please do yourself a favor and look them up. I have been in contact with esurance, because I was thoughtful enough to sign up for their esurranty.NET site, as opposed to. Com, which led to some other interesting insights. First, just because they are 'partnered', esurance is still resolved of any responsibility in regards to paying out, as esurranty pays them to use their name in advertising to lure customers in. Secondly, when esurance three-way called with me on the line, the phone number esurranty provides esurance is a company called "bright star" or "on star" or something like that, and they had never heard of esurranty. My complaint was forwarded up the chain of supervisors, so hopefully some investigation will be done. I'm not sure under what circumstances start-up companies are able to get deals with legitimate companies, but esurance assured me that my complaint would be reviewed. Looking at any correspondence I have had with the company, and comparing it to other's experiences (and posts of their actual correspondences), it appears that it is the same individual writing and speaking, as their language and word choices uses in their dictation appears to be similar. Just a thought...

As everything is pending in my case, I URGE you to PLEASE NOT SIGN UP! And I'm one of the lucky ones!

THIS COMPANY SCAMMED ME MORE THAN $400
November 28, 2017

Update for the review copy/pasted below:

Claim CL*******- eSURRANTY Policy # *******

Another month has passed and I'm still waiting. Right after posting on this website my first review about this company a representative contacted me after a month waiting for him. He told me to not worry, and he promised that he was going to speed up the claim. Well, its been another month since then and I'm still waiting. I wrote them again several emails and messages through their website and never got an answer.

OLD REVIEW FROM A MONTH AGO:

THEY CHARGED ME $360 FOR MY CLAIM, I HAVE NOTHING BACK FROM THEM, AND NOW THEY ARE MISSING

10/28/2017:
I lost my Iphone 6S six weeks ago. I made the claim, immediately the day after they charged my credit card a $189 deductible, $69 extra for the iPhone with 64gb memory, and $99 for a temporary replacement phone while processing the claim.

THEY HAVE NOT SEND ME ANYTHING YET, THEY NEVER ANSWER MY EMAILS OR MESSAGES THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE.

THEY CHARGED ME $360 FOR MY CLAIM, I HAVE NOTHING BACK FROM THEM, AND NOW THEY ARE MISSING - SCAM -

11/03/2017:
**Update: A few minutes after writing this review they responded to the review. Seems like they are fast for this kind of things. A couple hours after the review I was also contacted by the claims manager... What a coincidence, right? Well, I responded him immediately, like 2 minutes after receiving his email, and seems like I'm gonna have to wait another 6 weeks to get an answer from him again. OH! And just to make it clear, I don't have any email in my junk folder from Esurranty, I check my junk folder almost every day, so that excuse does not work for me!

Tip for consumers:

DON'T TRUST POSITIVE REVIEWS. THEY REWARD YOU WITH CREDIT TOWARD PURCHASES IN THEIR COMPANY IN EXCHANGE FOR POSITIVE REVIEWS

Do not buy
October 11, 2017

I thought I'd update and write a fresh review because I was unable to contact anyone from Esurranty for several months, despite numerous emails and calls. It wasn't until I left this bad review that finally they responded - how surprising!

I'll be fully transparent here now that I understand how esurranty conducts their business. I bought two policies this time last year. One phone broke so we received a new one. Sean Henson was the claims reps that handled the claim. It took awhile and I would email Sean and he wouldnt respond but eventually he would respond. We received the phone and it was defective. Here is where I did not follow their instructions - their instructions say to contact the general claims email box within 24 hours.

First, it's sometimes impossible to know the phone is defective within 24 hours. For example, our situation was that it wasnt getting consistent LTE service among other thing and those things are difficult to diagnose right away.

Secondly, I emailed Sean Henson directly because he had been handling my claim. He flat out ignored me for several months. I've been trying to reach him since July - it is October. Esurranty said I did not follow their instructions by opening a new claim. This is true. But I did contact the SAME person I was dealing with. I also called their phone numbers and left messages. I called their claims number and sales number figuring someone would at least answer the sales line. Both line say they will return my calls and neither did.

Then my next phone broke. By this time, I was pretty worried esurranty was a scam. On Sept 10, they posted on facebook that all claims would be held up due to Hurricane Irma. Understandable. I held off on contacting them for a week because I figured they were rebuilding. After that, I resumed calling. No answer. I finally decided to just submit my claim because I wasn't sure what was going on - and now my policies have expired. It's frustrating because these are 1-year policies and if esurranty has a policy of never responding to their customers, all policies will expire before they get a new phone.

In response to my comment about facebook, they said that all updates are made on the website and all customers should follow the website. If that's the case, why did they even post a facebook post? If it's not meant to be a formal method of communication, why use it? Hat's extremely misleading.

In summary, I made a mistake by not following procedure 100%. However, I think it's really unacceptable that esurranty representatives do not answer you, they do not answer the phone (despite asking you to call by giving you the number on their website) and they ONLY respond if you leave a negative review.

Additionally, several reviews have mentioned if you challenge the credit card charge, they bill you for the price of the phone and sent it to collections. So just beware. All companies can be difficult to work with - I'm well aware but esurranty rises to a level thats just unbelievable. SquareTrade isn't great either but I'll be starting a new policy with them today.

Here's an example of a nice response I received from them:
Food for thought:
If you put this much effort in your claim, we would not be having this little tisk. Perhaps you should get your priorities in order and focus on things that can help you instead of attempting to demonize a company that did their job when required to. Your negative reviews will be pushed to the 2 and 3 page within a month from positive reviews from customers that actually followed the very easy instructions and your complaints will be closed because we follow the letter of the LAW and track everything. All emails from (the horrible) Sean Henson to you are archived, all emails to us are archived, all claims submitted are archived and all of your attempts at extortion are now going into that archive as well so that when we have to answer to anything you concoct, we are covered. Again, I know this may be a stretch for you but perhaps someday you will just take responsibility for the fact that you did not do what you were required to do to get the service that was offered to you and given to you in the past. Again, Have a GREAT day!

Stay away from these scam artists
September 28, 2017

Don't trust these people, nor the reviews posted here presenting them in a positive light. I did some research (you can too), and a majority of people who have reviewed Esurranty in a positive light, have left multiple 5 star rating reviews within a period of 1-2months in some cases. The reviews lack content, or any kind of detail. It doesn't take a genius to figure out they are internally spiking their reviews or have others doing it for them. Don't be deceived.

I purchased a year policy with this company approximately a year ago and used it once to pay for a cracked screen which cost over $100 and required me to send my phone over to them (Took almost a MONTH to get my phone back). They couldn't even provide me an android loaner during that period, per their administrator stating "we are all out of loaner androids". So finally get my phone back, but of course with other issues. The ear headphone is screwed up, making it difficult for me to hear people on the phone and within a month, a dead pixel appeared on the phone. Recently, I set up a claim to get my phone fixed due to it running extremely slow and the battery not holding a charge over a few hours. I speak with their Administrator, Angelo Maimone, who states he's going to take care of my claim. Ever since that email, which was a month ago, they have dodged every call, and every email I've sent to them. Literally not responding to anything (and I left half a dozen voicemails and emails). Do not trust these people. They clearly waited for my warranty to end and stopped responding to me.

Edit: I submitted a BBB complaint, and shortly after submitting it, I finally got a response from Esurranty! Of course they stated that my policy ended and I was no longer eligible for protection; in addition to stating my device was no longer covered after 1 accidental claim (The policy details state they allow 2 accidental claims per year and an infinite amount of mechanical claims per policy year) despite me submitting that claim a month prior to the policy end date on 8/15/17.

Here's the email record on the recent claim.

From the Admin:
As a courtesy you may take the device to the repair center of your choosing for a diagnosis and estimate of repairs. Once you have that estimate, please reply to this email with it so we can get it reviewed by underwriting.

DESCRIBE YOUR CLAIM IN DETAIL I had my phone repaired a few months ago for a screen break. Ever since the repair, my phone has gradually gotten worse in regards to performance. The battery dies after 4 hours, overheated to approx 85-90C on a few occasion, Ear headphone is VERY low, and the overall performance is awful. It takes sometimes 5-8seconds to pull up the texting app, and to unlock the screen. I spoke with the owner awhile back regarding repairing the defective ear headphone piece, and he recommended that I could get it fixed at the local repair shop. Thanks

My Policy ended 9/18/17, and I submitted my claim 8/15/17 through your site with email records above to prove it ( and the full PDF of all email correspondence since January if you really want to go there). Your administrator even approved it as stated above. In addition, I was never given an option for a replacement following the "water damage".

To me
Below are the photos from the inside of your device when we received it and the repair center removed the damaged screen. This shows moisture and slight corrosion to the device which could have happened as simply as having the device in the bathroom while showering and steam getting into the device. You can also see that the liquid sensor is slightly triggered as well. I have referred this to the Managing agent as well for him to review as from my immediate supervisors point, the device had pre-existing liquid damage and as it was not disclosed in the claim, the repair center simply removed the moisture, tested the device to work, replaced the screen, tested it again and shipped it back to you. The managing agent will review everything in the account notes as well as the repair notes and then get back to you. I do not know if he will get back to you today as he is out of the office now.

Should you have any questions, please e-mail me directly at *******@esurranty.com

This company is fraud and they do not even have enough staffs to deal with the number of claims
July 12, 2017

7/14/2017: Ms Rachael, Hands up to your folly and appreciations for reply. Let me give you the taste of your own medicine! Well does your company's policy/term says that the customer can be charged twice for the same service and product? I disputed the transaction because your honorable company charged two deductibles for a single claim. None of your managers clarified about it or acknowledged the mistake! That is why esurranty is a cheat! I disputed because your cheating and doing illegal transaction. I informed your managers and they did not take any action regarding my concern for more than 30 business days. I was hoping actions but i did not even get a single call or all my calls were ignored. You are just another virtual company with no physical presence that is why you did not reply in time or respond you any form of communication.

I ask you to reply my question with your guts if you can: Can you charge twice for a single product or service? IF happened by mistake, should you not apologize and refund the amount? Is it not cheating and illegal activity?

7/13/2017: Reply for Miss Rachel: Just letting you know- when i talked to your manager, he confirmed the cell phone imei had been black listed! He checked it when we were talking on phone! Secondly, i went to t-mobile and asked for document that you were asking which the employee were unaware of! Thirdly, i produced the detailed police report which stated every details of electronics i lost and money i lost when i got robbed! So what more authenticity do you expect! The phone imei was blacklisted, the police report was furnished! I was already in such a grave mental trauma, being robbed at gun point and all you did was very unethical business! You charged my two credit cards for a single claim and its deductible! Answer me how can you charge my card when i did not authorized? I did authrized you to charge deductible and signed the paper at the time of claim filing. But how can you charge other one! That is why you guys are fradulent! You misused my credit card information to make illegal charge! Do you have answer for that? Also, I asked your incompetent manager about how do I get carrier notice showing that you reported your device lost/stolen to your carrier? He never gave me the clear answer. I still have email correspondence, where I asked MR Lewis if I were missing any of the documents several times (not once, not twice... numerous times), Mr Lewis would not mention about that or helped me to get that carrier notice. All he did was ignored my call and emails. I had to email 5 times to get a single reply from your honorable manager. Regarding the phone calls, I might have called him 100 times and he did not bother to reply a single time. I also left voice messages with my name number policy number, I never got a call back! I am questioning you and disputing you not only in single issue for sevral issues and it is not me but I can see other fellow friends had encountered the same problem. I hopoe you can Clarify and address the issues I just raised against you with solid proof and reasoning

Your staff told me since I filed for fraudulent charge which I did because it was the case of fraud for one of the credit card, the claim can not go forward! Hence after that I filed for another fraudulent charge with next credit card which I agreed to pay for the deductible because you guys left me with no choice. I was sure you would not replace my iPhone as well as charge two deductibles.

I would like to start the review with a very negative feed back. This company never replies your calls. They occasionally reply the emails but that does not help all the time when you are really already frustrated. I filed for the claim but the claim manager never gave me accurate answers for the status of my claim. The guy would say the case has been forwarded to underwriting department for weeks and months.

The claim manager would yell at you for calling his business number and would threaten the customer that he will not even consider the case number to be investigated. I truly believe they do not want the customer to have their replacement phone after lost or theft! They charge you the insurance premium as well as deductible but would not replace the phone! I lost my phone after buying the insurance from this company. Now they will not return my replacement or my insurance premium fee. So, basically I am paying the insurance premium of my phone that does not exist or is lost. Is it fair? I am tired of their behavior because they blocked my number. They would not reply my email. They are cheap company with insufficient resources and who do not value the customer who are already enrolled but always trying to get people buy their policy. It is not worth spending time and money on this fraudulent company. BE AWARE of this BOGUS Company!

Buyer Beware
May 24, 2017

This is the absolute most unprofessional, dishonest company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. My husband signed up for this cell phone insurance in January of 2017. My 13 year old son's phone had something wrong with it's wifi channel- as confirmed by the Apple Genius Bar with official papers to provide to esurranty. We sent notice to the company beginning on 3/20. After many emails and phone calls and live chats to them, most of which were either not answered or just pushed forward with no resolution, we provided paperwork TWICE and at some point got assigned to Jackie, who was no help. Finally, on 4/20, they told us to send them the broken phone, and we had the opportunity to give them a deposit of $99 to use their loaner phone while ours was being fixed. Sounded like a great idea! We moved on that, paid the $99. No phone. Rec'd emails that they'd be sending. But no shipping details no tracking. We were supposed to receive with 1 day shipping. Seven days later, still no phone. We felt we were being conned, so we put the $99 into dispute with the credit card company on 4/27 at 8:37am. Lo and behold, as soon as we did that, they then shipped the phone, and finally supplied tracking info. That very next morning, before the phone ever arrived, we were super pleased as we figured it must have been an oversight that they took so long to ship it. So at 8:27am, we notified Bank of America to put the $99 back through. We rec'd the goods in question at 4:14pm, as per the USPS tracking. As our credit card statement shows, which we have supplied proof to this company, the money was indeed sent back to them. On 5/5/17 we confirmed with our credit card company that 100% esurranty received the $99 back to their account. But you know what? They say they don't have it. Despite conversations with the bank conferenced in where they were told under no uncertain circumstances that the money is in their account. Like on 5/23, conversations with our bank three separate occasions getting their advice on how to deal with this issue. THEY HAVE THE MONEY. In my opinion, they are not being truthful & saying they don't have it for various reasons. Not only that- they still have my son's phone and they won't reply to us AT ALL to send it back to us. So even if the $99 is or isn't 'missing' or 'unclaimed' by Esurranty, they've not returned my son's phone which I insured with them. Call that what you will. They won't return calls. They won't EVER pick up the phone. In my opinion, it is a company who has a business plan that involves unsavory activities. If you speak to the BBB and look up the 'owner', he has dozens of criminal reports for companies like this as well as on eBay. This is public knowledge that anyone can look up. I will continue to report my issues until they supply what I paid for. I bought insurance from them and they owe me what I paid for. Buyer Beware.
6/6/17 UPDATE: This company tried to force us to sign a 'confidentiality agreement' to keep this case quiet, as a bribe to get our phone back. Obviously, you cannot buy my silence. Today is day 66 of still no phone. Phone was promised to me by close of business on 6/5 if I 'kept quiet' on the review/social media front. We did that- deleted all mentions of certain words they deemed 'unacceptable', and guess what? Still no phone. We now consider our phone STOLEN. And if you read other 1000s of reviews, they do this to EVERYONE.
UPDATE 6/19/17: Esurranty has sent a Cease & Desist Letter to try to get me to stop trying to get my phone back with my reviews and social media posts. Luckily, when you have friends who went to Harvard Law School, they can tell me that I need not do anything of the sort, as long as everything I'm saying is truthful and factual. I can keep on telling the world about this company and how they don't honor their claims, and they've stolen my phone. Today is DAY 79 of them having stolen my phone. I have sent them the signature confirmation for the return of their crappy loaner phone, and yet, still they won't return my phone. Again, buyer beware. Contact me privately if you'd like to join a group I've set up to try to deal with this.

When the time came that I had to use the actual policy I had purchased, I had THE WORST POSSIBLE EXPERIENCE ANYONE COULD HAVE EVER HAD. It was so bad and had gotten to the point where I was communicating with the "head honcho" or the "managing agent" (as he calls himself) whose name is Angelo Maimone (*******@esurranty.com). HE REPEATEDLY LIED TO ME FOR MONTHS regarding the status of my phone and continued to blame it on the repair center for all of the delays. After I harassed him enough times and called him every possible synonym for a CROOKED THIEF, he gave me the repair center's phone number and a contact name so I could speak directly to them. Angelo is an idiot. Had he known how good I am at getting information, I doubt he would have EVER given me the repair center's information and phone number. I got the full story from the repair center guy - Angelo owed this one repair center alone over $19,000 in repairs - they had not been paid by eSurranty for MONTHS and had obviously not been paid for my phone which had been sitting collecting dust somewhere in the repair center for over 3 months. The guy said he felt bad because he had over 15 phones just sitting there waiting to be delivered to the customers but I was the only customer he had ever been in contact with since he worked directly with eSurranty. He expressed the desire to send everyone their phones back because he had already repaired them and they were just sitting there, doing nothing. But he couldn't release them to eSurranty until he got paid for the work he had done. The guy at the repair center felt so bad for me that he offered to send me my phone back bypassing eSurranty altogether. I was so desperate for my phone that I said YES! PLEASE!" and "THANK YOU!" The worst part was though. MY PHONE STILL DIDN'T WORK and now I couldn't send it back for repairs or ask for them to fix it since I had bypassed Angelo and gotten my phone back from the repair center without Angelo's authorization!

NOTE: I opened my claim on October 1st, 2017 and I did not receive my phone back for the final time (by force practically) until the very last week of February 2018. ALMOST 5 MONTHS IN TOTAL WITHOUT MY PHONE!

Before I ever sent my phone in to have the screen repaired, I had THE BEST SIGNAL on my Galaxy S7 Edge. After the first repair, it was sent to me with a deep scratch on the newly replaced screen and there were these awful looking wave marks under the screen which looked so bad when the screen was off it just looked like shoddy work so I sent it back (I was told at that time that the screen they used to replace mine was defective. So why did they even send it to me in the first place if they knew I was just going to send it back?!). When I received my phone the second time, the screen was fine, but the phone was no longer able to make or receive phone calls! They basically turned my phone into a useless tablet since I couldn't use it for its main purpose AS A PHONE! When I complained about this, I troubleshot with the repair center, did everything they told me to do and they guy determined that maybe he hadn't connected some of the antenna pieces correctly so I was told to send it back to the repair center AGAIN (where they ended up doing absolutely nothing to the phone and sent it back to me without having touched it or fixed the antenna problem for over 90 days!)... So even though I did get my phone back, IT WAS COMPLETELY USELESS! I had to buy TWO PHONES thanks to these incompetent crooks! One to use while they kept mine since they refused to provide me with a loaner unit and then I had to buy a brand new Galaxy S7 Edge to replace the one THEY RUINED!

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! DO NOT BUY A PLAN! DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THEM IN ANY WAY! IT IS A SCAM!

You're better off taking it someplace locally if you ever expect to be able to hold anyone accountable for completely ruining your phone. I not only lost the money I paid eSurranty for the warranty, but I also lost the money I paid for the deductible for the broken screen, I paid for a replacement/temporary phone to use while they kept mine AND I had to buy a brand new phone thanks to their ABSOLUTE INCOMPETENCE! THAT IS A LOT OF MONEY & TIME I LOST THANKS TO THESE PEOPLE! And thanks to all these insincere and fake reviews that they practically encourage people to write to get money applied towards their accounts.

IF I COULD SUE THEM, I WOULD! If I could file any fraudulent charges with my credit card company, I would! They left me with my hands tied! When I asked the repair center to help me confirm some information in order for me to claim all the charges to my credit card as fraudulent ones, the guy NEVER wrote back to me again. I got screwed, scammed and any other name you want to call it. IF ANYONE EVER DECIDES TO FILE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY, PLEASE CONTACT ME AS I WOULD HAPPILY JOIN THE SUIT.

Lastly, I SINCERELY apologize to anyone and everyone who read my original review and chose to purchase a plan with eSurranty because of it. I only wrote that review to receive money in exchange for my review. For every website I left an "honest" review on, I'd receive a $10 credit towards any future deductible I would need to pay if I ever needed to use the warranty. I got a total of $40 in credit from them for writing 4 reviews on 4 different websites.

HERE IS THE EMAIL THEY SENT ME SO YOU CAN SEE WHY IT IS THAT THEY HAVE SO MANY UNEARNED 5-STAR REVIEWS.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

I've completely deleted my original 5-star review so that no one will ever be influenced by my 5-star review ever again (a review which was written before I ever used the service in order to receive a $40 credit towards any future repair I'd need from eSurranty).

ESurranty credits people $10 for every "honest" review per website. THAT IS THEIR SCAM! They know that people will want to get this money to use towards a possible future deductible they may have to pay so what they do is entice you to write a review before you've even used their service. And OF COURSE, you'll give them a 5-star review because up to the point where you purchase the warranty/service, you are happy and satisfied with your experience. So, while their wording in the email I copied above may seem innocent it SCREAMS SCAM! If you can't see it, then I hope that you don't get scammed by them. I personally could not, in good conscience, leave the 5-star review I had originally written up on this website, especially after seeing that over 10.3K people had seen it.

AGAIN, I AM SO SORRY TO ANYONE MY REVIEW MAY HAVE AFFECTED!

ESURRANTY IS A SCAM - - - - - STAY AWAY FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR HEALTH, YOUR SANITY AND YOUR WALLET! No joke, I had to start taking medication for my blood pressure when this started to go all wrong after just a few weeks into my claim. By mid-November, I was taking heart medication. Talking to Angelo was like having minor heart attacks, over and over and over again. So when I say to STAY AWAY I really do mean it. STAY AWAY! DO NOT BUY!

Only good if you DON'T have to make a claim
March 7, 2017

If there were zero stars I would give them to this company. I may run out of room but I'll outline what happened.
1. Actually bent the case of my iPhone. Verizon told me it was toast. I went online to file a claim.
2. You must print off forms, fill them out, scan them, and send them back.
3. Then you get an email from your "adjuster".
4. The amount of your deductible is automatically charged to your credit card.
5. I needed a loaner phone. One was supposed to be sent overnight and I was to receive it the next day. A $99 deposit was automatically added to my credit card.
6. Three days and three phone calls later I received my phone. I was told it was shipped to the wrong address, but throughout that time their website said "awaiting shipment". So it had not been shipped.
7. Loaner phone did not work. It was now 9 days later and a weekend with Presidents Day on Monday. Throughout this process, no one returned phone calls. The only communication was through emails. When you try to call them, regardless of what extension you put in, no one is there to answer the call and you must leave a message (time after time, after time, after time).
8. On Tuesday 2/21 I called again and this time received a call back from the "Managing Agent". At this point, I thought, okay, everything is going to be okay. He told me he was going to refund my deductible, to. Return the non-working loaner phone, and my deposit would also be refunded. He also told me to buy a phone at Verizon, send the paperwork, and they would send me a check.
9. On Tuesday 2/21 I returned the phone. I also received an email telling me that my deductible (almost $300) had been refunded.
10. By Tuesday 3/7 the deductible refund had not reached my charge card, nor had the return of my deposit. I had called on Friday. Monday, and Tuesday about this but again, no call back, and no one was available to answer the phone - only leave a message.
11. I had had it - I called my credit card company and disputed the charge. ESurranty's contract tells you if you dispute the charge, they will charge you three times what the initial charge was (this should have been a clue that this company was a ripoff, but it wasn't). The bank told me that this was manipulation and scare tactics, and if they did that to dispute that charge as well.
12. My final voice mail message to them was that I was going to dispute the charge, and that I was angry enough that I'd take them to small claims court if they tried to charge me three times the initial amount. Their contract had also promised me services I hadn't received.
13. I received an email asking me for this review with the promise of a $10 credit. It is a credit I will not use regardless. Even though they tell me that they'll pay me based on my contract for the iPhone I had to buy, I will not use them again - for anything.
14. So, if you use them, let the buyer BEWARE.
