Very glad I picked this up as it's a lot easier to manage than the two gorilla bags I also have. This slings over the shoulder comfortably and allows my camera w long lens, cage and wooden handle to slide in nicely on top with minimal effort. The pockets are great and offer plenty of little versatile storage. The larger area at the bottom is where I store my G4 audio case and the straps secure it as it's just a little to big to zip up, but it's fine. The overall build quality is about an 8 or 9 if the zippers hold up.

This bag is so sturdy. It stands by its own. It is shock proof. Lightweight. It has a space for 13" Mac. For some lenses and camera. I don't have so many lenses yet, thinking how to use those empty spaces... It is a quite big bag, good for photographers. It has a shockproof coating in both the sides. Front is very hard which will keep your laptop safe from bending. And yes, it has place for a tripod which I didn't use yet. Inside as others told you can adjust the spaces. Inside dividers are removable. But at the same time securely attachable to the sides and bottom. Probably this will be a perfect gift for your photographer friends.
