The paint is high quality and very low odor. I am not ultra sensitive to smells/chemicals but 1) I care about environmental health and my toddler's health and 2) the experience of painting is SO much better when you aren't inhaling fumes for hours or even days. I have ordered about 6 gallons of paint so far. One of them was mixed incorrectly and the customer service was fabulous. They even have an after hours answering service and responded to my email within hours. They overnighted a corrected paint gallon at no charge.
I wanted a non toxic stain for the floating shelf my dad is building me. I was happy to find this company but when my dad opened the lid and put the stain on a piece of tester wood, it came out looking like whiteish/pinkish paint! Not like stain at all. I will be returning this product and hope to get a full refund.
So we friended a half feral cat during the pandemic and when the weather got cold decided to build him a little home of his own in our backyard. We wanted a weather proof paint that wasn't harmful for animals. I chose the color singing in the rain and it beautifully blends into the Brooklyn concrete jungle. Paint dried faster than promised. We did two layers. Photo is after first layer. Nice consistency and very slight smell that reminded me of watercolors. Not strong at all. Overall excellent product. We were a bit hesitant for the price but then again I'm all for buying quality products that are ethically made. This ticks all the boxes.
I got the order on time and the order was right. They also were kind to change my order when I needed to two gallons added on to order. Thank you can't wait to start painting yay!
My experience with ecos paint was exceptional. I followed up with a call after ordering. The response was within minutes. I called again before my delivery came and again the response in a phone call back very prompt. I even received several e-mails to follow up to ask if I received my purchase. Thank you Ecos. For all your help. Margaret.
The paint had no odor. Was exactly the color I wanted. Arrived on time. And was a great consistency so two coats was only needed around the trim.
Glad I found Ecos paint! Peace of mind knowing it's safe for the whole family including the kitties. Fast shipping! Would definitely recommend this to friends and family. Thank you!
I have used many eco friendly products before but this one is exceptional. It stirs without clumping it glides on when painting and it dries significantly quickly. Thanks I cannot wait to use the floor paint!
So nice to find a company producing a quality product right here in the USA. I used the varnish to cover some cornhole boards I had decorated. They look great and have just the right amount of slickness with three coats of varnish. Thanks Ecopaints!
I was so happy with the ecospaint I purchased last week. It's a miracle for me as I have asthma & suffer from ordinary paint fumes. No fumes or nasty breathing issues as from ordinary paints. LOVE IT!
I received my sample order in a short amount of time and I'm very pleased with it. Exactly what I ordered and the quality of color is awesome.
I never used paint like this previously until finding out about Ecos Paints. I have used Ecos Paints so far for about 10 gallons of different colors on different orders and now will continue to be a loyal customer. It's nice to find a paint that matches my nontoxic lifestyle.
My husband spent about 18 hours of time, 1 gallon of primer, and 3 gallons of yellow paint to come out with a blotchy, horrible looking room. We are not strangers to painting. We have painted 5 different rooms in our house before this small nursery. We have used yellow paint in the past. We have never had such a bad experience! This room, like all the others we have painted before had white walls. Prior to painting, we cleaned the walls as we always do. We did not apply primer (we have never had to apply primer with any other paint). The first coat of paint should have been a red flag. First off, it was clear that the calculator used on the website was off. We were going to need much more paint than the website had suggested even for this small nursery. On top of that the walls were - how do I describe it - gross looking. They looked dirty. I actually sent an email to customer service and they explained that with this yellow color, primer was a necessity. They were very responsive, and even added a gallon of primer to our order. (Positive customer service experience is the reason I left 2 stars instead of 1.) A week later when the primer and more paint arrived, my husband applied the primer. It looked GREAT the coverage was GREAT. None of the streaky yellow showed through, and it looked better than the white walls we painted over. Then over the next week he painted 6 more coats of the yellow paint on top of the primer. We are out of paint now, but the walls are still streaky. Not only that but the color of the paint, even in the lighter spots is about 3 shades darker than what we ordered. We compared it to both the swatch and the color on the lid of the paint can, and though they are the same shade our walls are MUCH darker. Now we are out $240 and will need to repaint the room with some other brand. I'll probably have to do it while pregnant because my husband is done wasting 18 hours of his life. (So much for saving us from "harmful fumes".)
Dear Alexis,
We are sorry that you did not have a perfect experience with our products, and we did try to help you with your project. As you note, we sent a gallon of tinted primer to help with the finish of the bright yellow paint that you chose (the entire paint industry recommends using a tinted primer for such vivid yellow colors and this is noted on our website too).
In terms of the coverage, your account is confusing. The area being painted in the nursery was 300 square feet, which would certainly require two gallons (of anyone’s bright yellow paint) to complete (two coats). Initially you tried to paint the room with a single gallon, anticipating applying two coats (for a spread rate of 600 square feet per gallon). The second time around you applied six coats from two gallons of paint. That would be an equivalent spread rate of 900 square feet per gallon – which is unheard of.
With regard to the final color of the walls, the dots on the can are created from the paint inside it and, as such, are a true representation of the color of the paint in the can. If the color on the wall is different then something must have been introduced during application.
Alexis, we are sorry that you did not have the perfect experience with our products but remain unsure of the cause of the problems.
Kind Regards,

The paint arrived very fast. It is working beautifully and it has absolutely no smell which I am very happy about. Keep doing what you do! Thank you for great service and great product.
Love the paint! Beautiful colors, NO CHEMICALS, which means absolutely NO smell. My whole house is painted with ECOs and all the woodwork with their varnish. None better!
Very impressed with not only the quality of the paint, but ease of application, I used the outdoor and the indoor floor paint. So happy i found them. Will be back. Also. Impressed with your service and follow up. Makes my life better!
I purchased this paint because I wanted a safe paint for my baby's crib. The company sent me the wrong color card so when I actually bought the paint (thinking it would be the same as the color card), and mailed it to my woodworkers house, it was the wrong color! I wasted almost $200 and just settled for it because I really needed my baby's crib done. I contacted customer service on a Saturday so they were closed but the guy I spoke to from their answering service asked a series of questions and assured me that someone would call me back which they NEVER did! I will not buy paint from this company again.
I have MCS and only use Ecopaints. We have painted our whole house inside with Ecopaints and now some of our camper!
Tried the samples, first. They came promptly and had a good amount to try out to see the best color choice. Love that the stain is eco-friendly.
EcosPaints has been my go-to supplier for non-toxic varnish for my exterior wood projects. This summer I spent my extended quarantine hand-sanding about 600 square feet of 2 docks. And I used their Satin Exterior Varnish. I'm based North of Seattle, and I think they are based on the East Coast: wouldn't know it based on the delivery speed. They make the product on order, so to make, ship and get it to me quickly, it matters. Plus, they follow up with shipping updates, and check in after it got delivered.
They are my go-to producer, really appreciate the accountability and the professionalism in a time where both seem rare.
Answer: I was looking for a low VOC product without any flammable stuff in it and ECOS was the only one i found
Answer: It is absolutely a fantastic small business - please use them
Dear Becky,
Thank you for contacting us.
We are sorry that you had an issue with the stain.
It is not possible to see the "pinkish" color from the photo, but the opacity of the stain comes from it being applied too heavily.
The Pickling White color is used to age the wood, making it look a little bleached.
However, if you apply too much of the stain, it is possible to turn the wood completely white.
We hope that this helps.
Happy Painting!
