Dreambox is the worst. After the placement test it gave me addition strategies. 2 lessons later. Find the the slope of the parabola.(I'm in 6th grade). If you get something wrong a stupid red box appears just to tell me that it's wrong. POV: Dreambox when I get something wrong. Me: finally some help. Dreambox: oh, this person needs some help, I will just say the question again. Me: (ง ̀_́)ง. Lets just try this again. Dreambox: Wrong. Me: time for some real help. Dreambox: gives you the answer but does not count it correct. Me: (ノ̀_́)ノ ミ. Dreambox: you failed, so you have to do this again. Me: ლ(̿̿Ĺ̯̿̿̿ლ). And don't get me started on that synthetic, monotone robot voice.(Apparently her name is Angela). Overall, Dreambox sucks and should be banned.
Dreambox literally sucks so bad. This program has no educational value and is the worst. Just use khan academy. It does not even cost money! I am in 8th grade math and it's trying to teach me quadratic expressions! That's literally in 10th grade. Overall, this is the worst.
The questions are horrible and it makes me hate math even more. Especially when the whole middle school sections hate the teacher hated him (remember that my school is k through 8th grade) and he makes us do this and the hints don't even help. And the monotone voice is super duper annoying and the teacher does not even teach so we do this abomination. Not fun.

https://chng.it/JT4j9jdnDW copy this link to ban dreambox because it sucks so hard. I hope that they rethink how education is done
Hi! I am in fifth grade, but the part where you need to have the boxes above required is terrible! Sometimes, you get your answer wrong and you don't know what to do on your first try! It's not worth it if you are grades 3 and above.
Dreambox is good, but not perfect though. Dreambox is very entertaining by giving the users a break; Helps focus more on math. It is very helpful in certain ways, I'm in fifth grade doing the 6th & 7th grade curriculum, including algebra, coordinates, radicals, & the distributive property. You can earn prizes & buy games. You can also buy avatars & acquire achievements. However, some topics can be hard to understand & develop the skills. In conclusion, this is my opinion of Dreambox.
It wastes time on 40 questions just for a lesson when I have to do 10 lessons a week and it's so dumb so many questions are wrong that are right. Some dreamboxs are so stupid it goes on forever.Do not give anybody the chance to do dreambox.
I have 2 children in elementary school (3rd and 5th grade). Both have issues with math- This program does NOTHING to teach the kids the concepts. It leaves the kids to figure it out on their own, which we know for lower level math students, can be a recipe for disaster. I have complained to the teacher and even personally called and emailed the admin about this program. It is awful, my husband cannot figure it out, my ex cannot either- and I cannot see how this is helpful for young students learning math sklls.

The best part of this curriculum is the way the activities are designed. Rather than just click right answers, children are often asked to build answers, perhaps estimating how many sheep will fit in a pen (calculating area) or dragging and dropping markers onto a base-ten grid to match a quantity. Wrong answers are presented with more concrete representations of the answer, in the form of a number line or set of objects, for example. As they work through an exercise, children can see how many problems remain. In one game, each problem causes a dinosaur's neck to stretch. So children naturally want to see what happens when it reaches all the way across the screen. Finally we liked how it is possible to skip over the instructions, or replay them if needed. The choice is yours. Completing games earns coins, which can be used at a carnival arcade, with games like skeet ball where you can add up your points. Weaknesses include a clunky drawing activity, and some gender confusion in the record keeping system, which assumes that every child is a "he." All in all, this is a welcome addition to the world of technology based math curriculum, for parents and schools alike.
Last school year (19-20) our charter offered DreamBox as an optional subscription, but this year (20-21) it was not offered and wasn't an approved vendor. I ended up purchasing the Lifetime Subscription for my son, because one year was $99, but Lifetime was $150 and I know we will continue using it for at least 2 years. The subscription through our charter was set to the grades 3-5 environment, which my son liked better than the K-2 environment. They all have the same grade level content, but he thought the K-2 seemed "babyish". I was disappointed that when the school subscription expired and I re-enrolled on my own, all his previous work was lost and he was switched back to the K-2 environment. I was able to get the environment switched back within an hour a the request, but he did end up having to repeat some grade 1 lesson that he'd finished in kindergarten because they didn't transfer. Once the system recognized that he had mastered first grade content, it bumped him back up into grade 2 lessons. We use DreamBox as a supplement to our Singapore Dimensions curriculum, and it complements it well. I am able to add assignments, so I can assign standards to match where we currently are in the curriculum. I also love that you can track by National Common Core standard, or state standards- which may cover more content than the national CC standards. They have an app so you can use it on an iPad in addition to their desktop site. The family dashboard is much easier to use on the desktop, but my son prefers the app when he's just playing.
So I am a person in elementary so if your like ugh nothing will be good from a baby YOUR WRONG its always just underlining the questions and the mini games sucks. If any teacher sees this just let your kids use prodige much easier.
This program is JUNK. All it does is start you with pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-k math and it takes FOREVER, and then you HAVE TO SIT THROUGH the monotone voice telling you remember to choose the solution with the least amount of steps, the lessons can be DEVILISHLY confusing and it SUCKS!
I hate dreambox. It has made me hate math. It's not fun and it's boring. Why does my school even have this?
This app is used in my school, as a student, I am super lucky to use this app! It makes math more fun! I LOVE IT! I recommend this to all Teachers!
Whenever they ask you to do something and you try to figure it out then they just say "oops try again!" it's so annoying
