Deliver defective merchandise. Express regret when this is pointed out. Then make it as hard as possible to get a refund. Demand multiple sets of photos. Each nitwit who answers your email has clearly not read PREVIOUS emails. One nitwit says, "Just donate the defective merchandise. Warm regards!" But when one asks when to expect refund, next nitwit asks for return of item.
They are the WORST online merchant with whom I have ever dealt. They are either crooks or mental defectives. Or both. I only regret ZERO STARS is not an option. Avoid them like the PLAGUE or you are in for the waste of time of your LIFE.
I purchased a book and I got the confirmation sent to my email. I tried to log into my account to track the shipping, and it wouldn't let me log in. I tried sending a password reset email to my email, but nothing came. I tried logging into my account using my auto-saved Google passwords, but that didn't work either. I wonder if my account was deleted, since I was even able to make a new account with the email that I had used for my first one. I have 0 way of checking when my package is coming and I'm pissed. Ive emailed customer service, but let's see what they say.
UPDATE: My book came in in fine. However I'm still upset about the situation with my account.
DO NOT USE THIS SITE! I ordered a child's book for my granddaughter and it came in damaged. I spoke to someone at discoverbooks and the said the would replace the book no charge. The second book came in today more damaged that the first one - What travaisty...you can't reach them when you need to because they don't answer calls even though there's number and the chat and email featured aren't any better. I am asking for refund and will NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!
After purchasing several books, I was refunded a SMALL portion of the amount paid. There was no communication, & I received only a portion of what should have been refunded. They still have my money, & refuse to refund the rest of the money owed.
I purchased a book. The confirmation email showed. I tracked the order package with the USPS tracking number from the confirmation email, I got in my email. The status was "Shipment Received by the Postal Office in a different state, but the Package Acceptance was pending" and it listed an out of state USPS post office. I emailed customer service but the email address for discover books was in incorrect The emails I sent to the email address returned undeliverable. I have no expected delivery date In regards to this order. I called my post office and was told they haven't received the package yet. I would like to have this book I ordered. Still haven't received anything.
They cancelled my order after one week. They are terrible!. I would give them a minus 5 star if available!.

I ordered a book from a beloved childhood series to replace one I had lost in a move. I was looking for specific cover art to match my childhood set. Not only did I receive exactly the cover art shown in the web image (not gonna lie I was worried it was going to be a different cover), it was in EXCELLENT condition and actually makes my other books look a little shabby. Thanks for completing my set for under $5 and better than it ever was! Took about 2 weeks to arrive.
Excellent company! I have ordered two different times. I received exactly what I ordered. I have been very pleased with the very reasonable prices, free USA shipping, fairly fast delivery, US Postal Service home delivery, very good shipping packaging to protect the books, and the high quality of the books being sold. The described conditions of the books have been very accurate and well described. The several books that I ordered turned out to be former library books ( as mentioned in their condition ratings), but in excellent condition with no damage aside from library labels and bar codes on them. The selection of books available has been excellent, with hard to find books available in stock, and shipped quickly. I am very pleased with Discoverbooks.com. I will definitely continue to order more books from this company.
I don't understand the negative reviews here my books arrived in 5 business days and were in perfect condition. Oh and they were super inexpensive. This is a legit business.
I bought a bunch of books from discover books not every book they sent me was wrong title but I got a couple over the year wrong and also they send books that have ripped pages I also received a book they had a ripped front cover which to me is unacceptable I would tell you to buy your books elsewhere when buying on eBay or Amazon or any other sites that you see is by discover books the book that I bought it from them was called sleeping beauty by Walt Disney mouse works and this is what they sent me instead this is not what I ordered this is why I'm making a big deal of this issue

I have used a variety of online book stores and buy back places before however this has been the most dishonest experience I have encountered by a company that supposedly has fairly high ratings. Perhaps there was a dishonest employee working the day they received my book however I'm the one that got cheated in this case. I recommend reviewing their yelp and reddit forum for feedback versus some of these other sites to get more candid reviews.
This company steals your books and then changes their excuses for why they won't pay you. I have evidence of the book I sent with correct ISBN number however PiggyBook/Discover Books first claimed that they didn't receive anything in the package from the USPS. When pressed, they then said it was actually an incorrect item. When pressed again for them to provide me with evidence of how the book magically changed in transit so I could submit a USPS claim, they said they couldn't provide me with any evidence as they trash everything at the end of the day. This company is incredibly shady and I would not recommend at all.
This company is also known as Piggy Book so please avoid if you don't want them to steal your items and then make bogus excuses without ever providing any evidence.

Ordered a book on 02-21 and was informed that it could take up to 14 days to receive it. Today being the 15 days I called them and was told that I was refunded the money on 02-25 without any notice to me, no email, no phone call to let me know that they screwed up or didn't have the book.
SO, I waited like an idiot for 2 weeks for a book that would never come anyway. Clearly Discover Books is the definition of a very awful customer service. In fact one could argue their customer service is non-existant. A simple phone call from Discover Books to me after I ordered to let me know that they couldn't meet their end of the deal would have done it. No they couldn't even do that.
I needed this book on the date it was supposed to be delivered because it is a required text book for a class. Again they screwed me over since they wasted my time for nothing and said nothing to forewarned me so I could have ordered the book elsewhere. I won't be ordering from this company ever again because obviously they don't care whether they fulfill their end of the deal or not.
If you are not on a schedule or don't care whether you get the book you are promised and don't care whether there is some useful interaction with a responsible company customer service, I suppose you can order from them, just be aware you are dealing with an unreliable and unprofessional company..
Once again, I received the wrong book from Discover. They don't accept telephone calls and do not respond to email. Awful company.
Yeah. I've been ordering a lot of books from the early 80s to mid-90s of late, and have learned that Discover Books and their affiliates sell books in poor condition. This would be fine if they were honest about it, but they're not. Each and every book I bought from them was in poor condition, but across the board Discover and their affiliates rated them as "very good" and charged accordingly. I've included two photos of books I've received from them. The one with the broken spine is "Emprise" by Michael P. Kube-McDowell (the exterior spine is so creased you can't even make out the title information). The other is "Orphan of creation" by Roger MacBride Allen. Really, they described a book with huge chunks missing from the back cover as "very good."
Because they have so many affiliated fronts, they can pull fast ones. I have a working list of store front names they use, but they most reliable way to spot them is to check the seller on Amazon. Clicking on the dealer's name for any given book will bring you to the "about page" where the seller's name and details will be listed. Discover Books affiliates with have the "Discover Books" logo just to the left. That's the third picture.
DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. IT IS BAD. I NEVER ORDERED ANYTHING AND THEY STILL SENT ME BOOKS THAT I RETURNED. I ALSO REPORTED THEM TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU (BBB). IT IS THE BEST THING TO DO.

Answer: I was looking for a specific cover for a lost book that I was replacing. There were other businesses that may have had the edition I was looking for, but this one seemed the most responsive to issues based on other reviews. And it was the least expensive.
