Shipping packaging horrendous (wooden palate attached to item), appliance bottom uncovered, packaging showed rips, tears and unprofessional wrapping techniques.
Seamless overall process. The sales team worked with me since the beginning of the experience, the products are wonderful and the delivery was on time and the items were handled with care! I would certainly recommend them and will use them again!
The refrigerator I ordered came with one layer of bubble wrap on the front and one layer of cardboard taped around it. The unit was damaged in several places. It looked like something had hit it in several places, and one corner crashed through the pallet, causing further damage.
I was very disappointed that I had to return the refrigerator. All other aspects of the sale went smoothly.
It's good to have a place to buy top of the line appliances at a reasonable price.

The item was exactly as described on the site. And of course there was an enormous price savings. The minor dent is completely hidden when the item is installed.

The Stove had additional damage not listed on the legs of the stove, and one of the two ovens does not work. I would not have bought it at all had I known one of the ovens was not working.
Reading previous reviews, we were confident that we would be satisfied ordering from this store. UNFORTUNATELY we are quite disappointed and here is why:
1) My husband was the first to call for a floor model We liked. The site is great BC it tells you the condition of the refrigerator and where "dings" are located. But I had questions so I called our rep (I will not name names). I was able to speak to him at first. But later on with follow ups, he never called me back and we were ready to place our order. So my husband calls him only to find out that someone walked in that morning and purchased the very refrigerator we were looking at. Had our rep been more conscientious about returning calls we would have gotten that item.
2) so we look for another model. Have to say designer homes surplus have very competitive prices. So this time I had my husband deal with this same rep (I felt he descrimnated against women). Small discount from published rate. Brand new in box said the description.
3) delivery after a call or 2 was scheduled for Friday. I take off (not easy to do). Mid day my husband gets a call that delivery is postponed to Monday. Neither of us can take off so luckily delivery agreed to latest time of the day.
4) maybe our fault we did not opt for white gove service, fridge was supposed to be delivered from truck to sidewalk. And this was late in the day and getting dark. Thankfully driver agreed to help my husband bring it up to our floor (bldg) and lest soon after.
5) the wrapping on fridge looked great - no hole or tears. So first thing my husband does is tear off front and lo and behold - we immediately see a hole on the front left door. Not a ding but a hold. After calling our rep again that very moment, we were given to customer service. We put in a few calls and finally I sent an email. The rep very nice. Delivery was Nov 7 and it is now the 14th. A rep is coming to verify on the 16th. It was just annoying that we seemed to have to be very pro-active to get anything done. We hv to wait and see what happens next.
Very disappointing overall experience.

Overall I felt like I received a good deal on the fridge. Not quite as described, but for the price I paid I am very pleased with product.

Went in just to look and see what was on the floor and found items that we didn't intend to purchase but due to the price and quality we bought extra patio items.
We had an issue with a Fridge we purchased and a manager by the name if Peter made a decision to rectify the problem that made us happy and ensured we will be back again.
My representative, Jeff was a great guy but, very difficult to get ahold of after the initial order was placed. He shipped the order before I wanted it, however it did arrive and without damage. There needs to be at least a way to leave a message and have the Representative be required to call back within at least 12 hours from the initial call. As far as the Company, it has great prices and I would use them again.
Your Delivery Service reported to your company that my wine frig was delivered, and it was not. At first, your company (Designer Home/Surplus.com) insisted that I received the item, b/c the delivery company reported it as true.Your company appeared to be very apathetic about looking into the matter. I am not confident that the Elite would have remedied the issue, but for my involvement. After spending a couple of hours throughout a period of 2 days of calling the local delivery service, a dispatcher from the delivery service finally looked in to the matter, and found that my wine frig was left at their delivery location. Never got an explanation. It came 6 days after the due date.
The Viking cooktop I ordered ended up being on backorder, so I had to push out my delivery for over three weeks. I was never informed it was on backorder and I had to call back in several times to get an update on my purchases.
Products showed up neatly wrapped and protected. When we went to install the products, the Wine Cooler we purchased was missing the front to leveling bolts. I called the individual that sold me the products about the leveling bolts (been 3 days and I have not heard back from him).
The Viking Double Oven we purchased did not come with a Users Manual, so we had to print one off of the internet.
