Very useful unbiased reports on their product tests and the findings. Knowing which supplement makers to trust is of crucial importance to me. I also like their informative newsletters about the latest research pertaining to various substances usually available as supplements. Can hardly imagine being without Consumer Lab as an aid now.
When reading about the various water filtering products approx. One year ago I requested that they also test the Clearly Filtered filters. They responded by reciting the Clearly Filtered manufacturer's published data rather than subjecting it to the same tests as the other products mentions. This month they, once again, tested several of the water filters on the market. In their statement they mentioned that several subscribers had requested that they test the Clearly Filtered filters. They once again responded by quoting the company's published data (that we are all capable of reading on our own). This still leaves the conclusion up to the subscribers to determine, which we can do without subscribing.
Overall I think CL is a valuable service. Especially for anyone who spends a measurable amount of money on supplements.
I appreciate the detail and the cost comparisons.
Like the detail coverage and analysis privided on products
Thank you very much for sharing that, Linda. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.
As a member for over 15 years, I find their reviews fully educational as well as their weekly missives. Though I wish that they tested more products or categories, obviously they would need a bigger budget to do so. Though they often respond to my emails, sometimes I have to send second requests for responses
Overall I find them to be a gift to consumers and appreciate all that they do to keep us healthy and aware of deficiencies in products and in testing
Thank you for that nice review, Steven. We're glad that you appreciate our work.
Very nice & informative. I like that w you show detailed information plus your top picks. The only drawback is that you don't always have a lot of the brands one buys only via the internet.
We're glad to have you as a member, Abel! Thanks for your review. You can always feel free, as can any member, to shoot us suggestions via email.
Unbiased information on anything these days is a real blessing. Keep up the good work and continue to give us information on safe supplements etc. The fact that cost is considered when recommending products is important to some of us. I am always looking for easy to swallow or liquid supplements because of a throat condition.
Thank you for that nice feedback, Marion!
I like to keep up with ConsumerLab reviews for the latest information that includes 'specific products'. As a pharmacologist with lots of regulatory experience, I still like to do my own research before interpreting results and drawing conclusions about product categories, but your reviews are a good starting place. I often refer friends there when they ask me for advice about their medical problems and treatments. While I don't always agree with the rather conservative conclusions and over influence of the most recent scary headline from the mainstream, I know that at least this advice won't get anyone into medical trouble.
I've had a good experience with Consumer Labs but my only problem is that it seems as if I'm only helping the US economy as most of the reviews are about US products but I am a Canadian. So I see myself ordering some products from the US. It would be nice to also have reviews on products sold in Canada.
Hi Des - Thank you for your review. We do test Canadian products from time-to-time (they are indicated with a maple leaf in our results table), but, as most of our readers are in the U.S., most of the tested products are those sold in the U.S. We will continue to purchase and test Canadian products. We also look to Health Canada for its regulations on natural health products, as they are often ahead of those in the U.S.
Would like to see more supplements/herbals/foods reviewed. Excellent job with the Chia and flax reviews. Would like to see saffron not just the supplement for saffron reviewed.
Thank you for asking
Thanks for your review, Anne. You can always feel free, as can any member, to shoot us suggestions via email.
Consumer lab is the only resource for independent trustworthy, a supplement reviews. I refer to consumer lab frequently regarding supplement use. However, I have recommended some products be reviewed and have never received a response from consumer lab to my recommendations nor have my recommended products been reviewed.

Before starting any new supplement, I always check with consumerlab.com to see if they have ratings for it and which ones pass or fail. Sometimes a brand available to me wasn't tested so I have to just pick one as long as it's not one that's not been approved - but I try to pick one that has been approved if I can find it. I trust their ratings, and I appreciate all the info about each supplement - like the different forms it may come in and the pros and cons of each.
Thanks for your review, Linda. We appreciate your support!. You can always feel free, as can any member, to shoot us suggestions for products you would like us to test.
Not enough products in the review - many big companies that appears in on line shops like i herb-you cant find any thing about
Good. Good sound reviews and articles.
A bit disappointed in the one sided Covid and Vaccine articles, though.
The site is very conservative. More like a Dr. Weil site. Unless the data is confirmed in a sufficient number of subjects with top flight empirical controls, then it is not true. I do understand the null hypothesis that says because it has not yet been scientifically proven, it is definitely false. But I prefer a bit more thought. So, when I want the most conservative view, I look at Consumer Lab. And then I look at other sites with more analytical view. For example, "If we know that NAD+ levels drop with age. And we know that an NR supplement does improve NAD+ levels in the blood. And we know that Sirtuins are critical for cell functioning, but cannot function without sufficient NAD+. It seems likely that NR supplement will contribute to good cellular heath. We see that in many species from yeast to rats, but we still do not have sufficient hard data on humans to make that call." That thoughtful approach is missing.
We're glad to have you as a member, Brad! Thanks for your review.
There are so many brands all advertising their benefits. ConsumerLab gives reviews and detailed information that allow us to pick what is right for us.
Thank you for that nice feedback, Sally!
I think consumer lab is great. I love being able to get on the website and check many health issues. But there are times the supplements i take are not listed and it leaves me wondering if what I am taking is the best for me. I realize there are so many companies offering supplements and they cannot list them all. Also there are some issues that makes me wonder about their findings. I am wondering for instance about Vit D-3. My naturopathic Dr says I should have my levels at 60-75 and your recommendations are much lower. Hmmmm. I wonder which is right.
But over all I do like referring to your website for information. Thanks
Glad that you are benefitting from our information, Marilyn. Regarding vitamin D, there are now many studies (noted in our Vitamin D Supplements Review) showing that the level you mention (assuming you are referring to ng/mL) is too high -- you start to lose the benefits of vitamin D when you get too much. Be careful. https://www.consumerlab.com/reviews/vitamin-d-supplements-review/vitamin-d/
Certainly enjoy and gain lot's of knowledge from CL... It would be very helpful if CL would create an algorithm to identify those with membership via their email account... and eliminate having to sign in each time with your password.
Also when reviewing supplements, I don't necessarily find it useful to know which supplement has the best "cost" value.,. I only want to know which supplement is the TOP RATED... period.
Actually, you should not have to sign in each time you return to our site. You may just need to change a setting on your device. Please contact us at 914-722-9149 during business hours and we can help you with that.
Excellent source of information about health and nutrition-related products. Grateful for links to both peer-reviewed articles and grey literature in areas of emerging knowledge. Disappointed sometimes that my brand is not included in a review (even when of large market share - e.g. Nature's Bounty vitamins and others).
We're glad that you are enjoying your membership to ConsumerLab, John. Thanks for letting us know.
I would love to know if the supplements in vitamin patches really measure up to the volume they claim in each patch. Also, is there any research on the efficacy of their delivery system. I am primarily thinking about Patch MD. I have seen no mention of PatchMD in any of your reports. Other than that your newsletter is outstanding.
Thanks for your feedback, Carl. Please check out our CL Answer which included information on Patch MD. https://www.consumerlab.com/answers/do-vitamin-b12-patches-like-those-from-patchmd-really-work/B12-vitamin-patches/.
As I am getting up in years I am more open to different avenues of improving my health.Your site greatly improves my chances of exploring medicines and supplements that are available that help me to find those that are positive and others that are negative.Thankyou for your service.
Thank you for that nice feedback, Lawrence!
I appreciate Consumer Lab and refer to it weekly. However, if I were to use all the Approved supplements, I'd be over-whelmed with pills and capsules. I'd like more help sorting out what is necessary for me and what is not.
Thanks for your review, Ryan. Within the Reviews, we identify our Top Picks or best choices among those that have been Approved. Approval means that a product passed our laboratory testing, e.g., containing their key ingreidents, not exceeding limits for contaminants, etc. Each Review also includes information that should help you first decide whether or not a type of supplement is potentially useful and appropriate (or ineffective and possibly dangerous), what dose is appropriate, and which product or products would be best -- factoring in their quality, ingredients, dose, and relative cost. I hope that helps.
Web site is easy to use when searching for a particular product.
Generally, I'm very happy with ConsumerLab, however, often, there's more data than I can absorb but all the data that's provided makes a good reference when needed, plus there are some vitamin supplement suppliers that are not represented.
We're glad to have you as a member, Henry! Thanks for your review. You can always feel free to shoot us suggestions for more products
Great information and thorough but many Canadian products are not included for review.
I reviewed this website thoroughly. There is so much to see and experience when it comes to medical knowledge and the type of medicines that you would not think of researching. You can receive a free subscription to their emails but if you want more in depth information, you have to pay. I'll do just fine with Google.
