I shopped all over the internet to find a good company selling customizable gaming PCs that are pre overclocked and tested and for a very good price. ComputerLX has some of the best prices and they do not rip you off like alienware for upgrades like SSD drives and SLI configurations. I have been more than happy with computerLX.

A while back they sold me a computer that didn't work and I don't think they properly tried to "make it right" like a reputable place would.

The brand new computer from them froze when I first turned it on! Then it would blue screen all the time after that, and this is from day 1, right after I got it.

I never did get this resolved, I just was out over $1,000 and wound up with something that was totally useless for me. I think the problem was all the bad parts they put in it (almost definitely the RAM was defective; likely it had a bad hard disk -- it would make a clicking sound all the time -- and the video card seemed to have problems: usually it would blue screen when I tried to do something involving the video card).

If I was lucky, I could get it to work for half an hour or so under normal use before it would blue-screen, but sometimes it wouldn't even last that long and programs would quit unexpectedly and crash frequently, before the blue screen would happen.

Basically they know how to keep your money but based on my experience they do NOT know how to make a computer that works.

Their 20% restocking fee (even if the computer is defective) is not industry standard! If that were the standard, buying a computer that turned out to be a lemon would be like playing roulette! It sort of removes their incentive to use good parts.

In my case they didn't even give me the video card I ordered, but made a substitution for another card without even asking me!

Then, after 30 days of going back and forth and trying to get them to do the right thing had passed they wanted me to pay shipping to send the video card back to them, supposedly to receive the right video card that I'd actually ordered and paid for.

Supposedly if I wanted to call this guy who works there on the phone, if he actually answered the phone and if I didn't mind following his instructions (and possibly being insulted/abused and recorded by them on the phone), then maybe they'd honor their warranty and let me send it back so they could try to "fix" it.

I don't know if I could trust this company to not make copies of all the files I had on my hard disk, though, when they're supposedly trying to "fix" it. That's the way I feel and this is based on my experience dealing with this company!

So I just decided to accept that I'd been scammed and move on. This review is here in case it helps another buyer know that there's a 20% restocking fee, even if you return it within 30 days. They do not make an exception if they sent you a defective system, even if they change the parts and don't put in the components you asked for.
