“Excellent code quality, quick responses, fair prices”

I've been working with this company for about a year now and have done 6 projects with them. Overall I am extremely happy with the quality of the code for the price. The communication is always very prompt and they do not hesitate to make tweaks if I ask for them. I've been able to build a business off of the services they're providing and they have made this part of my job very easy! Major kudos to Elena and her team.

“Scam company”

This service will lie about what they will do for you and then refuse to give you a refund when you call them out on not doing the job you hired them to do. They divide a simple order (i. E. psd file to website) into two or three separate orders to maximize sucking the cash out of you. Do not use this website unless money isn't an object.

I've been working with this company for 8+ years and honestly, my freelance business would be lost without them. They can do basically anything from static HTML pages, front-end web development, Wordpress themes, animated HTML5 banners etc.

Great prices, always fast service and clean, professional code... all hand coded. Ask for Oleg or Andrew, great to work with.

I have worked with other script building companies before and wanted to give them a shot. I needed a complex Elementor plugin built for a WordPress client. Contacted them via their message system and they got back to me quickly. I gave them a full description of what it was I needed done. If you are looking to work with third party companies like this it is very wise to have every detail of what you want sketched out and outlined. After a few revisions they delivered exactly what I was promised. Their team was very helpful and I have added them to my list of companies to use going forward.

Tip for consumers:
Be sure to map out your project fully. The more details you can give them the better.

I'm a web designer, and I have to say that working with Code My Concept made the web development process simple and easy. Oleg (my project manager) was incredibly responsive, clear in communication, and was able to get my project back to me early! Highly recommended if you need a good PSD TO HTML service.

I had a piece of work that required a total re-write of a page from scratch. We had skills in-house but needed a fast job and didn't have the resource.
They did a great job - the code was clean and delivered quickly.
I will definitely be using them again.

FROM ME:
Just realized that you change separately for PSD to HTML and then to wordpress. The UI design for your store is pretty poor, I didn't even realize that I was only getting html. The price to have it converted to wordpress is too expensive. I'd like a refund

FROM CMC:
Hello!

Yesterday we delivered HTML/CSS only. There was no Wordpress implementation request (neither using 'Order Now' page nor in your posts).

I'm not sure, we can refund the sum paid since task required and which you've been charged for is accomplished. Hope you can understand this.

Of course, we'll pass your concern about UI to persons responsible for CodeMyConcept website building.

However, let me briefly explain the structure of the page:
We have 3 Tabs corresponding a certain type of job you are going to order. On the right side we've got a quite explicit calculator (another bg, bold fonts, bright colors) with breakdown and final sum.

Here is your request (paid and delivered):

Here is default Wordpress request:

Could I please know your budget for WP-implementation so that we could work something out?

Howie

FROM ME:
I asked for a refund, I don't have time to "work something out" with you lot. This is VERY disappointing! After investigating your site further, I noticed the price listed for wordpress integration is 189.00, it doesn't state anywhere on that page that you will also have to pay any other fees. So naturally, when I payed 189.00(!) for my project I assumed I was getting a wordpress integration. On top of that, your order page is also confusing, you need to get rid of the tabs at the top, that is very bad navigation! Cart/order pages need to be clear and simple, hiding options inside of tabs makes it very unclear what you're ordering. I'm a developer, I was trying out this service for the first time, and let me tell you, it will be my last. I'll also make sure none of my peers use your site, I'm headed to facebook/twitter/sitejabber to spread the word now. You've wasted my time & my money, you're not getting more.

UPDATE: *******

FROM CMC:
Hello,

My name is Mia, I'm supervisor here at CMC.

I was sorry to hear about your disappointment. Obviously an unfortunate misunderstanding took place here and we're upset about it as well. At the same time having carefully analyzed the situation and checked your communication with Howie I can see that:

1. The delivered files 100% reflect the scope of work ordered, discussed and paid;

2. Unfortunately you have never mentioned anything about expected back-end functionality or theme features or admin settings, ie, anything that could lead us to a thought that a WP theme might be needed for this project;

3. On the "Order now" page there is a breakdown where the options that you're paying for are clearly listed and it was obvious that Wordpress was not mentioned there when you were placing the order -
http://image.prntscr.com/image/fe9c1350ce6e4d6884b*******a34b5e6.png

4. While constructing CodeMyConcept website we analyzed modern UI/UX trends in order to make the website user-friendly and the CMS tab is clearly visible, placed in the center of the page and catches user's attention - http://prntscr.com/e39orw.

Taking into account the above mentioned details I'm afraid we cannot accept your request for refund in this project. I hope that our reasons make sense to you.

Please let us know if you would like to order WP theme creation for this project and we'll be happy to finalize this project according to your expectations.

Looking forward to your comments.

Best regards,
Mia
CMC Supervisor

FROM ME:
Hi Mia,

I'm sorry that you, and your team, don't understand that I'm an unhappy customer and that it is being caused by the customer service at Code My Concept.

Sure, maybe I shouldn't have trusted Code My Concept, maybe I should've read every bit of fine print on your website. I had assumed that if there were some issue, CMC would handle it with understanding and professionalism, but it appears that CMC is not that kind of company.

Id like to point out that in your Refund Policy it states A partial refund will be considered in the following situations:
The client is not satisfied with the quality of the code or service and provides a reasonable, legitimate, and comprehensive explanation of the matter.
The client is not satisfied with the product after reviewing it on our test server. In such cases, a partial refund may be issued upon the agreement about the details related to the refund.
If the order is completed according to the specifications of the client, some minor errors are inevitable and are not justification for full or partial refund.

So heres a list for you:

1. After inspecting the final code your team sent me, it appears that your team didnt develop using a responsive framework, thus rendering the files useless, as they are now very difficult to scale.

2. You also didnt export one of the images properly, the main hero image is missing a color overlay.

3. Now, CMC may have "analyzed modern UI/UX trends in order to make the website user-friendly", but there is obviously a very big disconnect between the landing page for Wordpress and the Order Now page. If I'm on a landing page where the pricing for a product is stated as $189.00, and when I click an "Order Now" button where I'm then directed to a page that says that the total due is $189.00, naturally, I expect that the product that I was just looking at is what I will be paying for. It is CLEAR AS DAY why I thought I was getting a certain product, but ended up with another, it was because the information & navigation of your site is confusing.

4. I honestly don't understand why CMC has chosen to handle my situation in this manner, is this how you handle all unhappy clients? I especially take issue with items 3 & 4 on your ordered list, telling me that things were "clearly listed", "obvious", and "clearly visible, placed in the center of the page and catches user's attention" is insulting to my intelligence.

Given what your refund policy states, and the four points listed above, I WANT AND DESERVE A REFUND.

Be assured that myself, and my peers will definitely not use your services in the future. In fact, myself and 2 of my colleagues are all trying out similar services, we need support when we get too busy, and this experience, by far, is the worst of the three. Coincidently, one of my peers is using one of your competitors, and is having a somewhat similar issue, and although they are bit more expensive, its clear that the customer service is far superior.

I will personally make a point to note this poor experience at my next developers meeting.

UPDATE: *******
FROM: CMC
Hi David!

We're truly concerned about your negative experience at our service and this case is being deeply investigated by superiors of mine as well.

We've asked several persons to give us their impressions about our CodeMyConcept UI/UX website and we can tell you that your point of view is rather fair, especially when one is in hurry (I think, you were). We admit you could get confused during your first visit, that's a human thing. We're open to help you out.

As to refund, I'm afraid I have to emphasize that we can't launch refund procedure since product delivered is as per your order:

Markup Specifications
-----------------------------------------------------------
Template type: webpage
Pages: 1

Layout Width: Responsive
Coding Type: W3C Valid HTML 5
Table-less Coding: Yes
Optimized for Load Speed: Yes, All of them

Implementation Type: XHTML/CSS

As stated in our Terms Of Service: 'some minor errors are inevitable and are not justification for full or partial refund'. Responsive frameworks (Bootstrap, etc.), do not come by default at our service and overlay issue can be fixed according to our Edit Terms.

I see you refer to the paragraph 2.7. B. In our partial refund policies:

2.7.b.The client is not satisfied with the product after reviewing it on our test server. In such cases, a partial refund may be issued upon the agreement about the details related to the refund.

We aren't happy if you are not satisfied and don't want to leave you with bad impressions about our service. That's why we are ready to discuss the possibility of doing WP-implementation partially at our cost.

Looking forward to your responding.

Regards,
Howie

FROM ME:
Your response is incredibly tone-def.

It is crazy that you can admit that my point of view is "rather fair" and that someone can "get confused" on first visit to your site, but offer nothing in return. YOU LITERALLY JUST ADMITTED THAT CMC IS AT THE VERY LEAST PARTIALLY AT FAULT. I own a business, and when I make a mistake, not only do I own that mistake, but I'll do what it takes to find a fair solution to the issue.

In your response, you also wrote "We're truly concerned about your negative experience" and "We're open to help you out" and "We aren't happy if you are not satisfied". All of these statements ring false, plain & simply they just aren't true.

Please, send me the quote for wordpress integration, I would just like to know what it is you people STILL think I owe you.

The way in which CMC has handled this was VERY dismissive from the beginning. You and your supervisor kept sending me the same canned responses, each one insulting my intelligence and dismissing my point of view in different ways, and then you had the audacity to try and upsell me?! It took letter after letter for you to even look at my issue and really analyze it. And then after you ADMIT that there are actual issues with your site, you STILL stonewall me. A business is more than just it's products, a business needs to have integrity, and where is CMCs integrity?

To be honest, I wouldve been happy with a partial refund, but because of the dismissing, insulting, & tone-def way you and your team have treated me, I will only accept a FULL refund now.

UPDATE: *******

FROM CMC:
Dear Client,

I'm a manager of Code My Concept service. Let me please explain our position:

1) We've done the work that you ordered from the Order Now page of the Code My Concept website.
2) We have corrected minor errors - you can find the updated HTML in the attachment.
3)According to our Terms and Conditions, which you've accepted by making the order, there's no reason for a refund.

As you take all our attempts to help you with WP implementation as an insult, I see no point in further communication. Let's stay in formal boundaries, outlined in our Terms of Service.

FROM ME:
Dear CMC Team,

You have surely and completely delivered a disappointing experience, it is rare that a company will have such poor customer service, but CMC is surely that rarity. Primarily, I find it amazing that you have admitted that you're at least partially at fault for this issue, but still refuse to take any responsibility for it.

Keep your files, I honestly can't use them.

Hopefully, someone over at CMC is paying at least some attention to this whole fiasco, and learning a few things about how NOT to treat paying customers. It is amazing that CMC can't see the value in building good respectable working relationships.

Keep in mind, Karma is a $#*!, this type of behavior will come back to bite you in the $#*! one day.

I've pushed about 15 different WordPress builds through CodeMyConcept and have been very happy with results. I provide designs with basic functional specifications and can expect a detailed analysis and response generally within a day or two.

Pricing - very good for the quality they provide

Timings - estimates have always been accurate and some jobs delivered early

Code quality - clean and modern html/css/js/php and good use of WordPress API. They've never had any issues meeting more complex requirements like sass, webgl, third party APIs etc.

Project quality - websites have always worked as per our defined supported browsers. They seem to have a very thorough QA process in place and have always fixed any minor issues we've picked up on during our own testing

Communication (project) - every project manager we've had has been easy to understand and very responsive to any questions and requests

Communication (technical) - developers follow instructions very well and hit each item defined in our functional specs

Overall they've produced great work for me and I'll continue to send work to them!

Tip for consumers:
Like any job - outline your goals and they'll help reach them
