Buyer Beware!

I do not recommend ordering contact lenses from this site.

I ordered three weeks ago.

After waiting a week (and checking my order status every day... without an update) I was told that the lenses had to be drop shipped from the manufacturer.

Apparently they just shipped this week... and the estimated delivery date isn't until November 29th... because they shipped via Canadian Post!

I recommend you DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!

I use to recommend coastal to everyone. Now I am telling the same ppl to have any glasses they received from coastal taken to an optometrist and have the prescription read. I recently discovered that one of my Coastal orders had the wrong prescription lenses. I ordered -. 50. Even uploaded my prescription to Coastal online and somehow Coastal sent me a pair of glasses with -1.00 prescription lenses. Currently I am getting the correct lenses inserted as we speak through my optometrist for a lovely $115.00. That was using my insurance. I emailed Coastal to see how they would fix THEIR mistake. Well they didn't. Since this particular order was on a promotion they had going at the time Coastal would only credit my account $15.00. Really $15.00 dollars? Not, "hey mail us your glasses and we will put in the correct lenses that was listed in your order." You cant even get a pair of glasses on their website for $15.00. So lets just say I use their stupid $15.00 credit towards a purchase. I would still have to pay the difference on the the new glasses and shipping as well. So I would be out of pocket MORE money on top of the $115.00 I am paying for the optometrist to fix Coastal's MISTAKE. What is so infuriating about this whole process and the multiple emails to Coastal is that they fail to see that had my order been CORRECT in the first place that I wouldn't even be going through this ridiculous excuse for a Company's way of correcting a mistake that THEY DID. I wouldn't be out of pocket ANY money. How about you send me the lenses I ordered in the first place? Seriously LAME.

"No two eyes are alike, and were here to get you exactly what you need. If anything literally anything is less than perfect we commit to making it right every time." I suggest you delete the "EXACTLY" out of your promise because it is BS. What I EXACTLY need is the prescription -0.50 that i ordered and i still and will not have from Coastal, well unless i pay the difference because clearly ppl want to fork out more money for someone elses mistake.

I was able to get a big discount using the free glasses deal, but since my prescription is a little strong, I still was charged for high index lenses. Add in the shipping & taxes, and the total came to 58.83. I was also able to try the glasses for 30 days before they charged my card. I received the glasses with just a few short days, and tried them out for a week. Everything came in good condition and they fit well. Unfortunately, I could not see out of them. I know it's not the prescription, because I've gotten a new pair from somewhere else, and I can see out of them just fine. After a week of making sure my eyes needed to adjust, I was able to return them with no fuss, and my card was never charged. Friendly and prompt service when contacting them via email. Gave it a try, but it just didn't work out for me.

Had a problem with silver-rimmed frames began to deteriorate after a few months. Coastal replaced them. Very helpful. Satisfied customer.

THE ORIGINAL REVIEW (updated to include only the facts): The only positive things I can say about this company is that sometimes their shipping speed is quick and that they offer free return shipping. Mine came with mismatched hinges that broke in one day. Their size details for frames can be confusing. They cancel orders if they decide that you shouldn't have been allowed to use a promo code. They have the worst customer service of any company that I have ever seen - when I wrote to complain, they responded with a nasty email accusing me of violating every rule under the sun."

I'M BEEN BUYING MY GLASSES ONLINE FRO 7 YEARS, HAVE USED 4 COMPANIES IN THAT TIME, THE OTHER 3 DID EXACTLY AS PROMISED, DELIVERED ON TIME OR BEFORE, WERE QUALITY PRODUCTS AND NAILED MY PRESCRIPTION. THIS IS MY 2ND GO ROUND WITH COASTAL, 1ST PAIR WERE 5 DAYS LATE, BUT PRESCRIPTION RIGHT, SO I ORDERED AGAIN, NOE 3 WEEKS LATER I'VE STILL NOT RECD GLASSES. HAVE GOTTEN EVERY EXCUSE IN THE BOOK, WHY DO THEY THINK SAYING THEY'RE SORRY HELPS. I ALREADY KNOW THEY'RE SORRY. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OUT THERE. SAID REASON FOR DELAY BECAUSE THEY OUT SOURCE LENS AND THE LENS DIDN'T PASS THE INSPECTION, THAT WAS 4 DAYS AFTER THEY WERE DUE TO SHIP. THEN THEY PROMISED TO SHIP OVERNIGHT WHEN RECD AND KNOCK OFF SOME $. THEY WERE COMPLETED ON THE 10TH AND SHIPPED OUT TODAY THE 11TH WITH A DUE DATE OF THE 16-21ST. IF I GET THEM THEN, AND THEY CHARGED ME FULL PRICE, LOST THE DISCOUNT AND THE EXPEDITED SHIPPING, SAID THEY JUST DIDN'T SEE THE NOTES MADE ON ACCOUNT. FINE, I CAN NO LONGER SEE ANYTHING MADE FROM COASTAL, AND SINCE I USED PAYPAL, I JUST GOT THRU DISPUTING THE CHARGE. I'LL GET MY MONEY BACK IN 10 DAYS, BUT THE ISSUE IS TOO MANY BROKEN PROMISES, TOO MANY UNTRAINED CS REPS, AND JUST NOT ENOUGH ATTN TO DETAIL. ALL THOSE ARE NECESARRY FOR A GOOD BUSINESS PLAN. GO WITH ANOTHER PROVIDER, MAKE SURE THEY OFFER FULL REFUNDS FOR MISTAKES, EVERYONE MAKES THEM OCASSIONALLY, AND GET THE SHIP AND DELIVERY DATE IN WRITING, IF MISSED CONTRACT VOID.
