Cleverbridge processes payments for Hidemyass. I have already written the HMA is being blocked by Netflix so I can't access US Netflix when I travel, which i do regularly.
I had an annual contract with HMA but wanted to cancel since it no longer works for me.
NOPE, can't cancel, can't get your money. You are basically left with contacting the credit card company, complaining of a fraudulent charge and getting a new credit card.
I am done with these companies.
If you buy a service and it no longer works you should be able to get your money back.
The companies should be embarrassed to provide poor service and if they can't fix the problem then refund your money.
Bad
I have tried for over a year to stop auto renewing my winzip. Cleverbridge does not seem to offer a page where I can manage my subscriptions. I am placing them on a permanent "hold" with my credit card company.
Received a $39.99 charge on my credit card for Firewall protection with a recurring fee. I immediately canceled it and requested a refund. I did not order it. They refuse to refund the initial payment.
I'm disputing the charge with my bank. I wish I could do more. Horrible people, multiple negative scam
Comments on the Internet regarding their deceitful practices.
I bought the convertor package. It stopped working and they will not upload it. Unbelievable. Included was 2 x additional uploads should it crash. Now they want me to pay £94 to install it
Cleverbridge is terrible. I purchase Malwarebytes every year on autorenewal. Received email that they are refunding my autopurchase and that my subscription is canceled. Turns out they receive reports about disputes every day and my CC was listed in error (I confirmed with CC co there are no disputes or blocks). Cleverbridge says it can do nothing, I have to start over. My take? Cleverbridge is NOT clever - they are dumber than a box of rocks. I'll pay for software without autorenewal from now on.
A German based company with German based expertise. Right now I am in the middle of what appears to me to be a bait and switch service outfit offering a 'halloween" special on a "premium" VPN service. Cleverbridge customer service is very efficiently handling. I talk to Cleverbridge at their (866) customer service number. That number and Cleverbridge history is published on the BBB of Chicago site. I currently have no reason to need to contact their BBB. Cleverbridge appears eager to either refund my payment or obtain delivery to me of exactly what I expected -- to get one year of premium VPN service for the $39.99 charged to my AmExp credit card.
NOTHING about this company is good. Cahrge too much, no humans on staff, products will not activate... jst a scammy bunch of thieves. My reciept is a PDF but I cannot upload it.
I purchased from Cleverbridge a license key for a software called Winrar that I was supposed to receive in my email.
The key never arrived. I emailed Winrar directly several times and they were completely unresponsive. Therefore I called Clverbridge directly since they are the company that I actually engaged with and paid.
They said they would reach out to Winrar. Still no licence key. It's been about two weeks now and I am asking for a refund. Cleverbridge refuses to help since they say the decision is completely up to Winrar.
I did not engage or pay Winrar, I paid Cleverbridge and I am Cleverbridges customer. They have my money and delivered no product.
Of course I will be disputing this with my credit card company but I really shouldn't have to do that step.
Very bad customer service and they definitely lost a customer. Hopefully other people will think twice because giving their credit card number to this company.

You buy a good software item that is "on sale" and you feel great about the deal. You agree to the terms, get the software and use it. However, a year later, you want better software and you buy that. You may or may not send a cancellation notice to the software company. Meanwhile, your first software item was not billed by the Software company but by one of the many middleman (some mentioned above).
Now you get a bill from this middleman for the FULL price of the software for a renewal. Whether you cancelled with the Software manufacturer or not, makes no difference. The terms that you had with the middlemen are such that you have to cancel with them and with the software manufacturer.
Let's say that you used a gift card for the software and you no longer have the gift card. Sorry! You're still out of luck. These middlemen keep ledgers of all their transactions and they connect the dots and all your purchases are now logged in under your name regardless of how many e-mail addresses you have, or phone numbers, or street addresses.
You are on the hook to them.
But let's say that the manufacturer (or even the middleman himself) is selling the software now at 1/2 the price. So what, you're on the hook for the FULL price (even if you never used the software).
How's that for service?
Most software that comes from other countries does use these middlemen, so those are the ones you should be the most careful about.
Always check off or handwrite a note (DO NOT RENEW AUTOMATICALLY).
After a one year subscription in 2019 July I received a request to pay another year in september. They didn't respond to any email and complained and did not allow a cancelation with a refund for their fraudulent billing practices. The did not delete my credit card info as asked and billed my credit card yet again now in July 2020 and don't respond to complaints and do not accept cancelation with request for refund. And as a technical service they are thoroughly intrusive and disturbing any and all information once you open your PC. DO NOT AND NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS FRAUDULANT COMPANY!
SCAM COMPANY REPORT TO BANK AND POLICE FRAUDSTERS SCAMMERS TAKEN £61 off my account reported to police
No help at all... since days I cannot download my purchase! Avoid any relation with that company...
Totally unusable. "Clever"bridge refuse refund despite VPN completely useless from day 1. A total ripoff company, avoid like the plague.
If you cancel the subscription to "WinZip System Utilities Suite" within 24 hours, this will not result in the order being refunded.
