Don't buy from mail-order company

What a company. I ordered a pocket pistol, the Beretta Tom Cat, for what I believed was a good price from Classic Firearms. I received the pistol at the FFL I requested and the shop staff and I opened it together. The mechanism to raise the barrel on the Tom Cat flipped the barrel up as expected but the barrel would not go back down. The staff at the shop all tried to engage the lock and after about 3 staff members and a bunch of pushing and pulling it did engage. They advised me to call Classic back to see what they would do with this brand new out of the box handgun. When I called, I was referred to Beretta for warranty service. Really?...so I called Beretta and waited 40 minutes on the phone for a service tech. After describing the problem, they advised me to send the pistol to them for repair or replacement if they couldn't fix it. I told them it was BRAND NEW. They didn't seem to care. So I called Classic back. They advised me that I could send it back to them for a refund, with me paying for shipping and a "restock" fee. Of $70. Again, really?...are they going to restock a defective pistol? I called Beretta back, again another 45 minute wait on hold and they forwarded me a return good authorization for shipping to repair the pistol. Wait time 6-8 weeks. Really? Carefully consider if you want to buy a mail-order weapon. I see there are many positive reviews from this site. But if you can't touch the rifle or pistol to assure it works, BUYER BEWARE. I will see if Beretta sends me a new pistol or repaired one. If it is repaired, I will take it to the local gun show and dump it advising the buyer it may need work. Last Beretta for me also. Customer service nightmare.

I accidentally or the system accidently submitted the same order twice. I notifed them a day after I saw the problem and they said sorry, too late. I then called my FFL and asked them to hold one for me, I am out of state until Nov. And they said they cannot hold onto merchandise that long so he refused delivery. Classic charged me just shy of $150 for restocking and shipping. They even charged me a restocking fee on the taxes I paid. I said if you can credit me I'll purchase the item when I get into Fl. They said "sorry, we can't do that" Good bye Classic Firearms.

I love your guns I have bought many from you guys and everything is absolutely wonderful but you should give some kind of rewards or send out tshirts hats to promote your company I mean I would appreciate it I've spent lots of money on your website. They do not totally honor the limited lifetime warrenty be careful there tricky. Call them they said th hearing aids were not covered

I ordered a firearm on 12/28, and on 1/6 received a cancellation and credit due to an "inventory discrepancy". Disappointed to put it mildly. CF needs a better inventory control system (apparently). An "inventory discrepancy" should never be a reason to take funds, commit to a delivery, have the customer work with his FFL, have delays in responding and getting it shipped, force the customer to call and confirm status, have his FFL call and confirm receipt of FFL, THEN SUDDENLY cancel an order due to a discrepancy in inventory. This has cost me twice the value of the firearm in time and energy to work with my local FFL and CF. I would expect any respectable company to email me with reasons for a delay, then work to secure the firearm at a later date while honoring the sales price even if it comes at a loss to CF. I can understand supply chain issues (even though I would expect CF to only sell items they have in inventory). So...at this point their company initials seem appropriate.

Disappointed

Purchased a firearm rated as good/very good, really should have been poor. Finish completely worn off, rifling very worn, hammer damaged, safety inoperable, and mags that had to be pried out with a screw driver. I submitted a review on their website and they deleted it without posting it, class act there. Not a wonder they
Always seem to have good reviews on their site.

Bought two sks after seeing dozens of pictures of
Really great looking... flawless sks, all rated EXCELLENT, to Very Good. Their stock must be getting low, cause thats NOT what I got.
I got two good condition sks, heavy carbon, some rust, broken sight post, and BOTH stocks had deep
Scratches and dents, how about 15 to 20 PER SIDE. Too deep to take out. But I paid the same amount as the perfect ones and they actually kept my extra cash for cosmetic pick of the litter!
They post the beautiful pix and sucker you into
Thinking that is what your going to get...
Overating for the big buck, I will not buy from them
And will tell what I got on every forum board out
There. Bait and Switch!

We are sorry to hear your SKS rifles did not meet expectations. Please notice we advertise two separate versions of the SKS rifles. One version is the "original turn-in condition" rifles which are very different than the "vg-excellent condition refurbished" SKS rifles we have advertised. Yugo SKS

I received my Yugo SKS the other day and was delighted with its condition! Cleaning the cosmoline was no big deal. The stock had a few minor dings, but what can you expect from a 30 year old surplus rifle. The bluing was all but flawless and the bore was in great shape.
So, my SKS was everything Classic Firearms shows on the website.

I have to say that I am extremely happy with the experience and mainly the rifle I ordered. I ordered the M39 Finish Mosin Nagant with the hang tag and when I went to pick it up at my local FFL, well everyone was wanting it. The rifle had a couple of small dings on the bottom of the forearm but they look like they were from shipment into the U.S. and I was expecting this. I was expecting to see some small surface rust but I have found not a bit and the rifle appears to have never been fired. I racked the bolt while at the FFL and it was extremely stiff and tight. I feel that this rifle might have never been issued with the condition it is in. I plan on doing a complete cleaning in a day or two and check the head space and then off to the range to spend some time with this lovely M39.

Thank you for the service and if this is any representation of how you do business, I plan to keep doing business with you for future purchases.

I have recently purchased an M44 Mosin Nagant from classicfirearms.com.
This is the second purchase I have made with them in about two years.
I have to say I am impressed with both transactions and have referred them to many friends and family.
They have great shipping and wonderful customer service that will help with anything they can.

After just starting being one of Classic Firearm's customer, I made an order that I realized was a mistake (due to the fact that I didn't properly research the product I ordered and, as a result, they turned out to not be what I really needed). After calling back the customer service department, I had a chance to talk with 3 young ladies, Janet, Amanda and Rebecca, who worked in the customer service department. I explained what my situation was and without hesitation they jumped on helping me to get the items properly returned to them and within 2 days I had my refund. Especially being a new customer, I was extremely surprised and pleased with how I was treated. A job VERY WELL DONE Classic Firearms. Incidentally, I am also extremely pleased with the other purchases I made from Classic Firearms including 2 SKS Yugo rifles with 5 cases of ammunition for my son and I. The first time i made an order with ur company, i was a little dissapointed because ofva mix-up in your inventory records. Two 300 blackout Barrels listed as instock were infact not available. However ur customer service made a prompt Reimbursement back to my Debit card si i was able to re-order these Barrels from another supplier with overnight shipping n meet my Deadline for the San Antonio Gun Show. Classic has been one of a few, very few, places I do business online with. I have always found their advertising to be honest and stock levels truthful. Price range is affordable and selection is unique. Shipping & processing is quick! Their message is refreshing. It's nice to see a company with a firm foundation in a positive belief. A company you can trust for they hold themselves to a higher standard.
