Placed an order with cheaper than dirt using an Am Express card for payment. The next day fradulent online charges were made at Walmart.com with my Am Express card.
Since the only place the card had been used was at cheaper than dirt I sent them a message letting them know that they might have a thief working for them. They did not have the courtesy to respond. No more cheaper than dirt for me.
Purchased a 9mm handgun and had it shipped to my ffl dealer, where they informed me they could and would not transfer the gun to me because it had bad tracing. After contacting ctd several times i finally was told i was being refunded. Come to find out they took a restocking fee out of it. So i contact them again where they tell me its a standard restocking fee. When i asked why i should pay to restock a defective gun, i was then told its because i was trying to do an illegal straw purchase and thats why they had the right to charge a restocking fee. They send me junk and charge me for it, then say its my fault because i was doing something illegal. Even though that was not the case, and they have no proof otherwise. Do your self a favor and avoid cheaper than dirt.
I ordered several handguns on a Monday morning confirmed the order with them on Monday afternoon by phone they billed my credit card on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday afternoon I receive an email saying that they cancelled my order due to inventory or clerical errors and will be refunding my card. So i checked my card and no refund. I called and they said they would not honor my deal and it would take a week for them to refund my card. I"m talking about $1956. 00. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!
Decent site with decent deals and good shipping. The overall look of it is nothing great and fairly standard. Could use a UI(User Interface) update and made to be more appealing and easier to find something on the initial look. Seems a little cluttered and unorganized at first but really isn't all that bad after all. If you cannot find what you are looking for on this site then you aren't likely to find it at all. I mean given what the site is about. If you are looking for couches or decor... well... you best keep on truckin'...

I am a competition shooter and when I discovered this company I have to admit I was a bit cautious. After ordering from them though, I will ONLY use this company for my ammunition needs. They have great prices, fast shipping, and I can track my order immediately after placing it. Highly recommended!
The selection is decent, the prices are great and the shipping is also fair and arrived in a timely manner. This is a great place for law enforcement and people who enjoy shooting. Its a very trustworthy site.
Ordered an acog scope paid the extra money for the two day shipping. Waited two days no tracking number but my card had been charged. Contacted customer service told me it would be shipping out that afternoon. The following day still no tracking number called to cancel my order and they told me it was to late to cancel and that they were not sure when it would ship. Stick with Amazon or Midway.
HORRIBLE SERVICE! Ordered 300 rounds of 5.56 ammo over a month ago... Never got it! When I called to find out what was going on/or have it resent... I was basically called a Liar! I was told that they would not resend my item or refund my money because "i could have gotten my order and be lieing". Even though the tracking information clearly shows that my order was never delivered!

Be prepared for disappointment when you order online. More than once I've placed an order for an in-stock item, paid and received an order confirmation. I then received a backorder cancellation notice via email a day or two later for the item? This is their official customer service response:
"We apologize for the inconvenience, but unfortunately items can be oversold before the inventory updates at the top of every hour. Even if we have a very large quantity of an item available, there is no way to guarantee that orders won't be shorted or cancelled depending on the demand for the item. We undertand that many people are frustrated by our system, but unfortuantely there is no way to change it."
"I am very disapointed with this website, I am a new customer but my fiance has been a customer for a while. I purchased something for his birthday which was very important for me to get it on time, and I order it ahead of time and they delivered it to the wrong address and charged it to the wrong billing address as well. I know it was my mistake however when I called customer service I explained how important this was for me to be here on time and instead of offering me to send me a new one because the order was returned they just told me about how I need to wait for them to get it to resend it to me and I need to pay for the shipping. This gift was going to make his day and now I will have to wait over 2 weeks. In a different situation I would not care about the time that the item would take but this is a special ocasion and they should have been a little more empathetic about my situation. My favorite website for researching firearms. I actually dont purchase from there because they are NEVER in stock. But it is nice that they have many many firearm selections on their website.
Let me start by saying that I have spent a lot of money with this company both online and in-store. After my experience today, CTD will not be getting another dime of my money. I was told when I ordered my rifle directly through CTD online, that if I did not like it or there was problem when it arrived, I could exchange or pay the difference for a different gun. It took more than 2 weeks for my gun to arrive, which I found to be a bit absurd since I had to pay an extra $10 for in-state shipping. Then, when my gun finally arrived, I was met with an attitude from the manager, because they didn't call me to tell me my gun had arrived. After I looked at the rifle, it did not have a heavy barrel which is, what I told the sales person who I bought it from, that I wanted. I was told that the gun was mine and they do not take returns or give credit toward a new gun. 2 different managers told my that I was basically stuck with this rifle. Gander Mountain has no problem having guns sent to the store and exchanging or returning it if you do not like it. Looks like Gander Mountain will be getting all of my money from here on out.

I think they are great from prices to the things they offer for the sportsman. I have bought things for them that the stores around Oregon said they could not come close to competing with.
I ordered a gun barrel and it arrived to me damaged. My dissatisfaction comes from their customer service which is available only through a livechat feature, no number to call. I informed the woman I would like a REPLACEMENT for my product, because it arrived damaged and is simply unsatisfactory. She informed me a replacement will be shipped if they have it in stock. I shipped the product back, and soon the money was refunded on my credit card. I got back in contact with customer support through livechat, stating I was told I would get a replacement, not a refund, and she said No it says you requested a refund, sorry. I said no I even have a copy of the email stating I'd like a replacement, she said well the product is in stock you can order it again, thanks, anything else? And I simply said OK I already paid for shipping for a damaged product and now you won't replace it you're making me order it again and pay again for shipping? That's simply ridiculous. I will NOT be going through them again, they did, to their credit, refund the shipping cost of the original order after I argued with them, but still, I was NOT satisfied at all. I will be taking my business elsewhere. The attached picture is how it came to me right out of the packaging. I wish I could tell you I dropped it on accident but that's how it came, and it would be fine if they could actually do a proper replacement. Shame on them.
This review reflects only the internet seller, not the actual store in Fort Worth. I tried to buy something online, paid, but was declined. The site said it was a credit card issue involving the number. This was the very first time I'd ever had a problem using my credit card with an online merchant ever. I've bought things since then with no problems. I tried again, same error. I called, tried to order over the phone, they said the number was invalid. We checked the number four more times, the code on the back, everything. They kept telling me it was invalid. I called my bank and they said the funds were being approved on their end, that everything was as it should be, nothing shady going on, no glitches except that the merchant was refunding the money after taking it out. I asked what the problem could be, they told me that it wasn't on their end because the money was being taken out, so they didn't have a problem on their side. I called back, tried a few more times, but the card was never approved by cheaperthandirt.com. So, I resolved not to buy and told customer service that they could contact me when they wanted to sell me something instead of teasing me. They emailed me back, telling me again it was my bank's fault. The emails went back and forth for a while, and every time I tried to end it politely, they would rebound with "It's a problem with your bank's software, not us". "Why, then," I would ask, "does every other merchant from which I buy have no problems at all ever, and only you guys have problems?" "It's a problem with your bank's software, not us." The runaround was unbearable. I have nothing positive to say about these people, and I wanted to share this in hopes they'd take some action to update their software.

Answer: When mine was cancled they didnt even notify me or try to contact me to return my money. The ffl dealer had called me and told me, and i assumed my money would automaticly be returned. But after a week of them having the gun back, no refund. So i called and complained, and they said they had not started the refund process yet. So the lady says she will do it right then on the phone. Three weeks later the money was put back on my card, minus shipping costs and a restocking fee.
