This site is very non user friendly, saving progress on a petition almost never works, and it is very slow to navigate. I would rather see my issue play out the wrong way than try and formulate another petition on this website. Stay away from this website if you want to remain sain.

Biased
October 31, 2018

Potential is so massive, but after continually seeing one sided misleading surveys' that can ONLY support one side (Anti Brexit as the most obviously biased theme) this is not a people's voice but a political engine. Shame. You've wasted an opportunity for a real people's voice.

I found out they were charging me every month for what I thought was a 1-time donation. And I don't even know what the charge is going to? It doesn't seem like there is any fund for the cause I signed the petition fund. So I guess they are just keeping all the money. What a scam site. I don't know how this is legal.

I signed petition for a teen girl that was killed by a psychopath cop and they got like 300 signatures and wanted donations to promote the story I guess. Then they send me an email for a chick-fil a petition to save the chickens and they had ******* signatures. That is just sick and they seem to promote save the chickens aggressively. I feel dirty even going there.

I created a petition for freedom of humanity because all these draconian measures are a way to control people and to reshape the world into tyranny. The petition was holding those people responsible for lying and killing people but it was removed silently.
Because you are not allowed to go against Silicon Valley. Later I found out they are huge financially connected to Bill Gates. The one next to Anthony Fauci the petition was against. Censorship was used to silence me so it's absolutely not an independent site. Change.org is from Google.

Later I saw more articles saying some petitions regarding social activism or against covid rules where censored and removed silently. Better not use the platform. It's just as bad as YouTube when it comes to censorship.

The site is an efficient and effective platform for its stated purpose. But, there are two major problems with the site.

First, there is no provision to voice dissent regarding a petition. So, when the petition is presented to a decision-maker, the decision-maker only sees the people in agreement. Disagreements are not presented. For example, what if 1,000 people support a petition, but 100,000 would not support the same petition? How would the 100,000 people be represented here?

Second, while I saw a large number of left-leaning petitions, I don't recall seeing any petitions supporting conservative values and issues. I'm questioning whether conservatives are simply not using this venue, or if Change.org is not presenting petitions supporting conservative values and issues.

Given these two apparent problems, I am no longer participating in Change.org and have canceled my monthly financial support.

I've been trying to support a couple of petitions for some days, but as soon as I go through the process, I get a message that they don't support my browser... and go on to recommend that I use one of the browsesr that I'm already using! I don't know whether I've duplicated, trebled or quadrupled my signatures: I suspect they haven't accepted any of them, because they are so anxious to persuade me to download the Google Chrome program that I'm already using. I'm certainly not receiving the usual "thank you" and to please "let zillions of friends know that you have signed this petition,," Perhaps I should start a petition suggesting that Change, org set their own house in order... get their act together, and stop wasting our time by their own inadvertence.

Such Hateful Lies
April 27, 2021

The site must be owned by a puppet, as in someone that can not think nor see anything for themselves. The twist and turns in your lies aren't even the real stories! You should be ashamed and shut down immediately in the name of The People.

I signed a petition that was advertised on Twitter. The petition was on change.org. There was a solicitation for contributions that popped up and it looked like it was to support the petition cause. It said with my contribution they can reach more supporters. However, after I made my contribution, I discovered the contribution went to change.org as a "membership fee", and doesn't show any connection to the petition organization I wanted to specifically support! In addition, they automatically make it a monthly contribution! We all understand that they want to get paid but I feel this was either a very sneaky miss-representation and a poor business model.

RIP off!
September 16, 2020

Made a one time contribution to a fundraiser and then my card was charged $3 every month automatically. Had to cancel my debt card. Now change.org has the balls to email me and ask for a new card number.

Good thing I locked my debit card. I've been getting bank notices that transactions couldn't be processed due to my card being locked. I take a look and it's numerous attempted transactions from change.org. I don't recall giving them my card number or making any donations recently to change.org. So these guys need to be reported. I'm keeping my debit card locked so no more weird looking transactions that I didn't approve.

They use your causes as business. The same they support the rights of animals they give place to conservative groups to promote apartheid. And when you ask them why they are so "tolerant" they say they don't have an agenda. Yes... they have, those who don't have agenda don't have principles and. What they do with your information? One must be stupid for not believe they sell it

Anyone can use any email address to create and sign petitions. Once your email address is in their system you are spammed forever.

Why is it that anti spam laws do not apply to unethical organizations that refuse to implement email verification?

All they will do is steal your money on a monthly basis. The cause that you think that you are giving to will not receive your money. They need to be investigated because their business practices are bordering on illegal.

Hello Nancy - thank you for the feedback; I am very sorry to hear about the confusion. It sounds like you signed up for a reoccurring promotion of this petition. If you haven't already done so, please contact our Support team at help.change.org. We'll take a look at your account and make sure you are changed to a one time donation. Thanks! Zo

Never, ever, ever sign a change.org petition. The next thing you know, you're getting stacks of their spam, and there's no way to unsubscribe. The "unsubscribe" link only goes to a sign-up page, and there's no way to contact the organization. The "contact" link is also a dummy. All you get is a list of FAQ's that take you in a circle. In short, it's a swindle.

There are so many Religious and cultural problems also within the society. Many activities are going on within the society which insults and misinterprets a religious and Cultural doctrines in the name of Secularism and Atheism.
But the problem is that the Voice of people who advocates the religion and culture are not recognized by many institutions and NGOs. The Change.org too fail in the given context. There is no separate opinion for Religious and cultural topics within the topics will signing the petition. This very essential topic is neglected by Change.org

Two years ago I made a single donation via Change.org. I don't even remember what it was about. Nothing until 6m ago when random $10 debits appeared on my Paypal statements. I have checked my Paypal account and found that there was a monthly debit set up. But $10 was not being debited monthly, only at apparently random intervals.

My advice: have nothing to do with change. Porg, and pass it on.

I donated $5 to a cause and now it's coming out of my account everything month. There is no way to reach them and I am very frustrated because I am going to have to close my debit card and relink everything. Hoping someone could contact me since there is no phone number to call or write in to.

Scamed me
November 6, 2017

I joined 12 years ago when it was free they e-mailed me the list of petitions and I picked or signed the ones I was of interest in. They eventually stopped the e-mail list of petitions I guess 5-6 years ago to me then every once and a while sent a petition and asked to donate to send email to other people for that petition which I didn't. I just got an email 11-03-2017 from change and they wanted a membership fee of 7.75-15.00 25.00 ect. To recur every month and I just deleted the email. I was checking my on line banking on the 6th and change had charged my new debit card 10.00 for what I don't know and couldn't find out with there customer service ( which sucks) I want to know how they got my card no. Are they hackers?
