Sportsline ROCKS!
Everything you need (or want) in sports. Up to the minute scores, play by play, stats, everything a sports junkie craves. Good Fantasy leagues and programs. Just all around good stuff... I prefer it over ESPN.COM.
I have a lot of thoughts about Sportsline. I'll start with the few good things the site does. First, the price is decent, only if you get the promo price of $35/year—especially considering Vegas Insider charges $200/week. The amount of data you get for $2.92/month is probably the only redeeming quality of this site. Second, while most of the experts are atrocious, there are 3-4 that actually seem to care or know what they're doing. Now for the bad. The site tracks win-loss and not profitability. The site cherrypicks records—there's zero chance all "40 experts" are profitable. The "analysis" for 90% of the "experts" is brutally bad. I won't touch on its "advanced computer model" because it's terrible. I also won't touch on the apparently egregious billing problems other people seem to have because I haven't had that experience. I was actually notified my subscription was expiring/did expire, and I still had access to the site for another 2 weeks. The site preys on people who have no idea what they're doing. All that said, I still use the site—I just make a new account each year to get the "promo." You truly can't beat the $2.92/month price if you use the site purely as a reference point, figure out which "experts" are legit, and actually analyze the "expert analyses." You could probably make more money fading most of the picks. In sum, if you decide to purchase a Sportsline subscription, (1) buy a Visa vanilla gift card, (2) make a new account to get the actual price, and (3) absolutely do not rely solely on the site to be profitable.
There so bad there charging 50.00 for a year of there picks for every sport. Think about that, it's less than a dollar a day. The problem you're going to think there going to pick winners and your going to get 20 to 30 picks a week, many times picks on both sides of a game. You will go nuts trying to decide what team or handicapper to go with. You will lose money and then find out it's hard to cancel there garbage subscription. Do yourself a favor, bet what you can afford to lose, study and make your own picks. Congratulate yourself on winning weeks and blame yourself when you lose. If your good you'll become that 1 in a thousand that ends up in Las Vegas in a condo with a bank of tv's watching games and making a living betting sports. If not you'll be working for a living, and betting within your means and hopefully losing a small amount of money but otherwise enjoying your self. Stay away from all tout services. Remember the few that can consistently pick winners are in there Vegas condo not sending there picks to a tout service like CBS Sports for a couple hundred a week.
I have yet to hear re: my cancellation request-2 weeks now. And i am not going to pay a phone charge to do so. I will let my credit card company to not accept charges.
As many others have said, Sportsline is absolute scum. They literally will not answer the phone if you try to call to cancel, will not acknowledge emails requesting cancellation, and even after placing a stop payment order with my bank Sportsline somehow managed to resubmit a charge to me. This company screams fraud and their laughable fantasy football picks left me next to last place in two leagues.
The content is not worth paying for as you can get the same content from free fantasy sports sites. Cancelling is next to impossible as they just extend your membership to where you have to cancel time and time again. The so-called experts and computer models they stand by is nothing more than 50-50 guesses so don't waste your money!
I was just about to type in my credit card number, when something told me to read sportsline reviews just to be on the safe side. After reading most of them, I am so glad I did not proceed with this membership!
I have repeatedly tried for the last few days to cancel my membership, but like others have stated, they force you to call them to do so, but then don't answer the phone when you do. After 10 minutes, their automated system tells you to leave a voicemail -- which is just as pointless as calling.
I will be reaching out to my CC company and work with them to put a stop to these payments.
They have over 15 handicapers and whoever is doing good goes to the top giving the impression there doing good. Lets face it if a sports handicapper is doing good he doesn't need to tout. Just the opposite they lay low and grind out a profit. Problem is they tout these guys so much it gives people the confidence they will bet more than normal and lose more than normal. Now sports is over there touting horseracing. Dont be fooled. There putting picks in the night before not knowing track conditions or scratches or odds. Its a scam don't think because its cbs its legit. Its a TOUT service witch is a scam. One handicapper Jody Demling is decent he picks only stakes races on Saturdays and spreads out bets small and is up alittle this year. SO BE CAREFULL. Opalockafats
Someone (not me) set up an account. I got charged. They still have not answered how they got my account number. The person on the phone who was a "supervisor" and I say that term very very loosely could not handle someone getting up set because they stole my money but would not refund it. Hint: if you can take the money out you sure as hell can put it back in! Go to your bank was the response which I absolutely plan to do. RUN FAR FAR FAR AWAY! I don't know anything about them as all I do know is they took money out of my account without permission. Then got mad when I said it is f***ing ridiculous. This was answered like a person talking to a five year old because even though it was not at her she couldn't handle nor figure out appropriate response to someone being upset. Having never used them and never wanting to use them this does not do anything to help their creditability or customer service. I find it ironic that I am a "paying", (again they stole from me so I say this term loosely) customer but they did nothing to try to even keep me just go to your bank. It also took me about four times of calling before I was able to get a hold of anyone, yet apparently being frustrated was just to much. Ridiculous and in fact doesn't make me want to do anything with them. Seriously run far far away!
I called to cancel my subscription. The guy offered me free time until November. I said I don't look at the website Dude. He said don't call me dude and hung up on me. This site is a money pit.
Was told I had to cancel by May 1 to avoid automatic charge. Was charged on May 1. Contacted them on the same day, explained that I wanted to restart my subscription in a few months, asked for a concession/refund of $25 and after multiple back-and-forths they continued to refuse. Short-sighted and stupid. Avoid.
Subscribed in germany, and had to call them to cancel ( international calling fees apply!)- had to call a bunch of times before somebody answers and accept cancellation. This is a stone age company of customer service, j///ks.
Sports line.com is terrible - their NFL "A" picks have lost 4 out of 5 - Your better off flipping a coin than paying for a membership to this site. A bunch of VEGAS wana bees/ has beens -
The $9.99 'trial subscription' is a complete fraud. It never ends. You can't cancel it on the website, over email, only by phone, but they never pick up the phone (after 30-45min on hold they say to hang up). The only way to stop it is to call your credit card company, alert them of the fraud. They will place a STOP on the charges (without having to cancel your card) and should also refund you for past charges (if you call them early on in the scam, don't wait six months).
Cannot cancel on line must call, I did call the number listed in terms of use on my profile page Friday night before the day my subscription expired. They told me they could not find my account and gave me another number but this number was closed until Monday which now puts me over the expiration date. After a lengthy explanation on Monday with the manager they coud not do anything once the charge is made but charge me for another year and then cancel my account. I thought with CBS name on this sportsline would be a professional company. Not so! CBS should be embarrassed.
Sportsline is the worst subscription service. They do not allow you to cancel online, And charge you if you call the same day to cancel. Also they will not pick up the phone to cancel. Their so called "experts" are right 50% off the time. Do not waste your money.
Stay away from this service. It is a scam, unable to cancel. You must call the phon number to cancel, but nobody ever answers the phone. You have to report it to your credit card company to to cancel.
CBSSportsline has a rating of 1.2 stars from 56 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with CBSSportsline most frequently mention credit card and customer service. CBSSportsline ranks 39th among Fantasy Sports sites.
