The socks hold up well. I do not hand wash them. I have bought the lace crochet topped socks since 1992. Ever since the opening of the Mall of America and buying at a high end sock store. Now the socks do not last that long but a good 5-7 years. That store will stop carrying the brand; therefore, I turned to the internet to order.
