If it's custom not stock don't waist your time they allways want to see it even if it's a simple job like a install all I want is power and that's it! Where I dropped the radio in and because I cut the dash for custom install on dash and it was a little bigger it's not perfect they said go put in a new dash what a joke during pandemic they turn down money! Lol there to crowned up for my likings

Not recommend
November 24, 2021

I personally don't recommend this guy's in Northglenn, some time ago my wife takes her truck to this place to buy a remote starter with instalation and everything looks OK the guy's recommend her to purchase a guarantee just in case something gone wrong what she did, about a week later stop working she takes it back and they fix it right away then it fails again she takes it back last week and those guys say the control's don't work anymore and she needs to buy another sistem she has to pay $600 now the warranty she buy before don't cover it
Well she bring the truck yesterday with 3/4 tank of gas and after she get the truck it was completely empty she was supposed that the gage don't work but this morning she put gas on it and it takes 25 gallons of gas when the gage was on 3/4 before they installed the famous remote starter!

Car toys wanted to charge me $100 just to adjust my CB antenna where I had got it done at another CB shop in Portland and they charged me $10
Took 47 seconds to adjust.
Car toys you are completely 100% ridiculous and your customer service sucks the guy I spoke to was not nice at all. This was the car toys in Portland on Halsey near the 205 freeway.
You guys have to be nicer to your customers and lower your prices cuz that's ridiculous $100 to adjust a CB antenna you guys suck car toys.

They lied!
September 9, 2021

I bought a new car stereo from Dar Toys about a year and a half ago. From the beginning it did not work properly. I kept taking it back. They made corrections and assured me it would work properly. They never said anything about replacing the radio until about 6t weeks ago. They said they would order a new radio and replace the old one. I have'nt heard from them since then. I went in today and they said because I bought it over 1 year ago they could not replace it evan though I had been bringing it back since the day I bought it.

I went to Cartoys in Shenandoah, TX. To have a stereo installed. Now I am a repeat customer from about 6 years ago. SAME CUSTOMER SERVICE! In 6 years I was sill met with great customer service. Same great and friendly attitudes and fast service. I was scheduled for about 3 hours for the install. They had it done in less than an hour. SUPER FAST and done right. These guys are awesome at what they do. Worth the 30 mile drive for me to get there. I highly recommend that you give them a try. They will earn your repeat business...

Great diagnostics, solid quality install
August 25, 2022

I'm posting this on a couple review sites because many of the reviews are years old. They are certainly not reflective of the super diagnostic and install service I received (August 22,2022) from both the Salem store manager (Omar Tapia) and the installation manager (David Sabrowski). After taking my Subaru Outback to the local Salem Subaru dealer they assessed my dead Harmon-Kardon system (head end system with CD and Subaru navigation) as requiring a complete over $1800 parts and service replacement. I declined and drove to Car Toys where they diagnosed the problem as the Subaru factory amplifier --- not the complete audio/navigation system. Short story is they encouraged me to locate another Oregon Subaru dealer with a new factory amplifier part in stock (at several hundred dollars less than the Salem Subaru dealer), which I did --- for several hundred dollars savings for the amplifier part alone --- and then charged me an extremely reasonable charge for less than 30 minutes swap-out of the bad unit. My total savings over what the local Subaru dealer had quoted --- just over $1115. 00 in savings! So the diagnostic ability at Car Toys was far superior to what even the local Subaru dealer did --- and the Subaru dealer charged me more for their false diagnostic (that wasn't accurate) than Car Toys actually did for the actual swap-out and re-install.

I needed a replacement for my old unit, and wanted a Digital Media Receiver. Hardly any were in stock locally that I could afford. The local car toys had a Pioneer that I liked, but it was not in stock and they couldn't get one. I went online and found the DMH 241EX for a reasonable price. I got it in 2 days and decided to install it myself. I bought a backup camera at my local O'Reily's. I wired up the harness to my Frontier's harness and then ran a wire from the handbrake switch wire and then routed the camera's supplied cable (and added an additional wire for camera power) between the unit's harness to the backup lights and the camera. I got ground from the bottom of the bed body.
Connecting and installing the camera required the most work, but it was well worth it.
I found that the Pioneer unit can find and play many more albums than my old Sony, and it supports Cover Artwork that is embedded in the MP3 files ID3Tags as long as you limit the dimensions to about 200x200 to 300x300. I used Mp3Tag (freeware) to import my folder. Jpg files and adjust the dimensions and them embed them into the ID3Tags. This software is great, because I can select all the songs in an album and do it in one pass.
I also found that this unit plays AVI and M4V files. It could not play my Avatar. M4v file, so I used Prism Video File Converter ($24.99) to convert it to AVI and it plays fine.
I love this Pioneer device.

Jordan and his crew at Car Toys, Spokane provided knowledgable options for a new car stereo/CD player, and then they installed the same while I waited. All of this happening during the holiday season when everyone is usually busy and cranky! Just the opposite happened at the store and I am quite pleased with the result.
Sincerely,

Worst experience ever!
February 13, 2015

Worst experience ever! I made a appointment for my new deck and front speaker, in my 2008 hyundai accent.( show up 9 mins early had receipt and was ready to go) i left to go home to wait for a call when my car would be done, 2hrs later no call, so I call the Everett cartoys up to see where they were at, the guy on the phone tells me that they are just pulling my car into the shop to get started on and it might be another 2 hours lol. I'm never going back to cartoys. Also cartoys likes to nickle and dime you on everything, instead of just having a flat rate fee for installion, but that would be to reasonable, and easy. Cartoys is not the better way to go!

What a rip off
August 6, 2013

What a rip off. Charged me over $200 in unexplained fees on top of the installation charges. Charged for new brackets when the new speakers came with brackets and they were the same size and style speakers as what came out any way so they weren't needed. The deck and speakers that they installed was $300 they carged $400 for the installation totaling at $700. I will never shop there again!

Rude Liars
May 7, 2016

CarToys at El Dorado Blvd Friendswood TX - DO NOT USE THEIR "SERVICES". They do not render the services they charge you for. Go to a local car wash detail service. Everyone at this location and upper management are rude thieves. The personnel will use your car's charger to dry the inside of your car, they leave your vehicle running for hours and only perform a cleaning a child could do. They lie, steal and blow your car's computer system. The rating I want to give is not available. They are a ZERO. You have been warned. DO NOT USE CarToys. Unprofessional ignorant thieves.

Approx. 3 months ago I purchased Kenwood's next to top of the line double din audio system from Car Toys Willowbrook for my 2008 Corvette. I initially hesitated because I thought it to be pricey. I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger. First Elijah took a considerable amount of time educating me on exactly what I was purchasing 'cause I had a thousand questions. Tim the installer explained what was involved in the installation and did a first class job. It looks like a factory unit perfectly installed with not a scratch on my console. Then Pedro sat in my ride with me and helped me learn the basics of how this unit works and also walked me through getting set up with Sirius. It works just like the factory unit but sounds oh so much nicer. As time passed I learned all the nuances of adjusting the radio settings to my liking. This unit plays connoisseur grade audio and I am truly happy with the way you guys treated my baby and I won't hesitate to recommend your services. You get what you pay for! Thanks gentlemen.

Car Toys warning do not buy from these people! If you want low prices you sacrifice customer service unfortunately there is no way around it car toys could care less about what a customer means in the long run they just want your money now and don't care if you ever purchase from them in future which I will never do again. There sales reps will out and out lie to get you to buy from them straight up lie. I was sold a phone girl says oh we have this great replacement coverage if anything happens your phone will be covered just bring it back and we will swap it out. Lie you can't bring it back they have you call India and you have to mail it in. Ok fine but that; s it right? Nothing I have to do just send it in right? Yes that's it, another lie, turns out there is a 125 dollar deductible so after blowing up at the answering service for these lies I say whatever i need my phone so I have to pay it, well there system is down so they can't take my credit card, so they have to call me back, on a phone I can't answer calls on but they don't care, they got my money in first place who cares if I'm happy now. Lying to get the sale only cost you customers when they figure out they have been had.

Worst customer service. Paid $600 down on a $1200 purchase of "free" install of radio and back up camera. They said parts would be in by end of week and 2 months later no install even scheduled. I tried to call multiple times and left multiple messages no response, would have to call multiple times to talk to human and then they told me they were waiting on different parts, no one gave the same story as to why install hadn't been scheduled. Had to go up there to get anything done. When showed up they said they were waiting on radio that I had already purchased and was on hold was given to another customer. Then found told them I wanted to purchase radio and camera and get install elsewhere and they wouldn't honor the free install price of radio cause I wasn't getting it installed there, which they have been unable to schedule since purchase 2months ago. Turns out their "free" install was costing me $600 in silly fees. I went elsewhere for install and it was $250 and they didn't need all the harnesses and misc fees that car toys was charging me for and they did it that day. I will never go there again!

As a longtime customer of Cartoys, spanning over three decades, I am deeply disappointed by the recent decline in the quality of service and customer care at this establishment.

I relied on Cartoys for all my automotive needs for years without encountering any major issues. However, in the past few years, professionalism and accountability have significantly deteriorated.

My recent encounter with a store manager exemplifies this decline. Despite approaching the situation with a genuine desire to resolve a product issue, I was met with a shocking attitude that reeked of indifference and disregard for customer concerns. Evidently, the manager's priority was not customer satisfaction but personal convenience.

Furthermore, attempting to escalate the matter to the corporate office proved to be an exercise in frustration. The lack of accessibility to corporate representatives is alarming and indicative of a company that has veered off course from its commitment to customer support.

The absence of effective leadership and accountability within Cartoys is evident in the increasing number of unresolved customer complaints. The once reputable company appears to have lost sight of its core values and is now prioritizing short-term gains over long-term customer relationships.

In light of these concerning developments, I can no longer justify continuing my patronage of Cartoys. My decision to sever ties with this establishment after decades of loyalty is regrettable but necessary. I urge prospective customers to exercise caution when considering Cartoys for their automotive needs and to explore alternative options with a stronger commitment to customer satisfaction.

I hope this review serves as a wake-up call for Cartoys to reassess its priorities and recommit to the principles of integrity, accountability, and customer-centricity that once defined the company. Until then, I will explore alternative avenues for my automotive needs and advocate for greater consumer awareness of the challenges faced when dealing with Cartoys. As such, I will share my observations with others, including consumer advocates nationwide.

AWESOME SERVICE
November 11, 2020

NEEDED SOME THINGS DONE TO MY VEHICLE. BOUGHT A BRAND NEW RADIO AND SPEAKERS AS WELL AS AN ALARM SYSTEM FOR MY TRUCK. I NEEDED EXTRA ALARMS AND DUE TO COVID-19 I NEVER RECEIVED THEM UNTIL AFTER MONTHS LATER. MANAGER JOCK SMITH, REORDERD THEM AND MADE SURE THAT I RECEIVED THEM WHILE MAKING SURE THAT THEY WERE PROGRAMMED AND READY TO GO. FOR WHATEVER REASON MY RADIO SYSTEM KEPT JUMPING OFF OF WIFI AND HE AND HIS TEAM GOT ME BACK ON TRACK WITH THAT TOO. THEIR FAST AND FRIENDLY SERVICE WAS AWESOME. I WILL ALWAYS BUY MY CAR ACCESSORY NEEDS FROM THEM. THEY ARE EXCELLENT PEOPLE TO DO SERVICE WITH!

Been looking a remote start system for my 2000, Ford Taurus. Though I finally found one I could afford from Car Toy's, internet site which had a Compustar 925S on sale for $219.96, (the regular price was $299.99). Standard installation at a local store was included. The site did say that some vehicles might require a "bypass or door lock modular" for an additional $69.95, which I knew my car would require. Prior to ordering this I called the local store to see about setting up an appointment f or the installation. I was told that I would have to bring in the vehicle so they could take a look at it before making an appointment, which I found hard to understand as I believed they should basically know what kind of electrical system a common car would have, but did take my vehicle for them to look at. Once I got to the store I showed the salesman a print out from the Car Toys web site showing him the price and items I was going to order. They didn't even go out and look at my vehicle, after telling me they needed to see the vehicle. Then they told me it would be just over $600 for the unit and installation. I had previous quotes from other dealer's in the area which were for a little over $300, but thought I could save a little over $50 getting this one that was on sale. STAY AWAY from Car Toys; they just want to get you in the store and see how much they can try and get out of you. I told them I would no way pay $600 for this and left.
