Put in one claim in 4 years. Rejected rejected the map light repair even though original agent said it was covered. Repair place had to diagnose the problem which cost $250 to determine it was not covered.
Cancelled insurance after that and it was the day of month for next payment. I had sold the car. Called car shield to get payment back they said sorry can't do even though I didn't own car. They are rated one of worst companies.
You guys have been great overall custumer assistance is there for you 24 hours they dont keep you waiting if you need roadside assistance they get there in less than an hour they wont leave you hanging.

I am impressed with the salesman and his enthusiasm. He reportedly saved me $54 per month. I ended up with a contract of $105 per month with a $105 deposit. The coverage is amazing at this price with no contract.
Needless to say I'm not impressed. I pay every month for coverage. Finally used it after two years. Needed a water pump replacement. The shop told me they refused to pay for all the parts needed to fix my water pump. They also refused to pay for a few other major issues that should not be considered wear/tear parts. I will just pocket the money I pay this company each month.
Spoke with a representative about account and the change that I needed made. She was super nice and very helpful.
CarShield I pay fee per month to covers non -warranty car repairs. This program is very useful with cars that is out of manufacture warranty.
Absolutely disgusted at the lack of service and disregard for their customers. They will find any excuse not to cover your problem. Both my private service center and the dealer where I purchased my vehicle laughed at me when I asked if they accepted CarShield. I called CarShield and they referred me to PepBoys who are obviously in bed with them. Besidws my monthly payments to CarShield I also had to pay PepBoys a diagnostic fee. All to find out that they would do nothing to solve my obvious problems. Please do not sign up for this coverage. You will pay and receive nothing in return.

My experience was amazing, they covered everything they said they would. Offered to let me choose my own mechanic and also offered advice on what and whom to look for when choosing a mechanic.

I was driving by my dealership (1/25/24) when the check engine light and a knocking noise started so I pulled in to have it checked out (less than 500ft). It was a major engine problem. My service guy submitted the quote that day. Car shield didn't upload it to their system so an inspection could be scheduled until Wednesday of the following week (1/31/24), and only did so after the service advisor called several times over the preceding two days.
The "adjuster" Mark, did not attempt to schedule an inspection until a service escalation specialist contacted him on Friday (2/2/24). He then did not bother to tell anyone that, due to my location, an inspector couldn't be scheduled, so pictures had to be uploaded, until a service escalation specialist contacted him (2/7/24). All the while, I was forced to extend my rental car use beyond the "covered" seven days because of adjuster Mark's incompetence and negligence. The garbage customer service at car shield would not extend the rental car reimbursement beyond the original 7 days, even though the delay was entirely their fault.
On top of that, I was told that they would only partially cover the repairs because my turning into the dealership when the noise started and the engine light turned on (500 ft of distance) was negligent on my part for continuing to drive.
The first level customer service staff is rude, dismissive, talks over you and barely speaks English. The second level "escalation" team is helpful, but there is no way to reach them directly, and even if they tell you to ask for them, the first level people fight you on it and say that they can't connect you to the person you were talking to before.
All around just an awful company to work with! If you can find a legitimate service contract provider, go that route. These people are terrible!
