My transmission went out on 11/7 and I had a hard time finding a shop that would accept the warranty work for this company in Longview, Texas. American Auto Shield told me J O Williams would accept the warranty, but after giving me an estimate and going over my warranty they said they don't accept it because of your payment terms. On 11/ 11 I had to pay a wrecker to tow my truck to Longview from Gladewater to Automotive Super Center on N 259, which I'm very pleased with their handling of this claim! They didn't pay for the wrecker. The shop received the used transmission on 12/1 and repairs were completed on 12/12. I rented a truck from Pegues Hurst ford for (1) month at the cost of
$ 2,800.00 of which they reimbursed me $ 250.00 for the rental.
The used transmission went out in Mesquite, TX on 12/27 and I had to tow it back to Longview to
Automotive Super Center for these repairs. It was in the shop till 2/22 getting repaired, most of that time waiting on the Car Shield adjuster to decide what to do and pricing parts. I rented another truck from a friend with a Hot Shot and trailer rental business for (2) months. Can't wait to see what I get reimbursed on this rental. This is unacceptable, I only have one vehicle and my wife was in the hospital from 11/7 to 1122 with a broken leg and doing in patient rehab. Then couldn't walk for 7 wks.
I also us my truck to get to work. I had to pay for the rentals upon return of the vehicles plus the amount Car Shield wouldn't pay. I paid SWD Hot Shot Service $ 3,900.00 for the truck rental.
So far these repairs and other costs are $ 8,578.88.

The transmission and engine light wouldn't allow the car to move forward or backwards. After contacting Car Shield they sent us to CCP automotive shop to repair what's needed on the SUV.

Approximately two weeks ago I received a call from customer support informing me that it was time to reup my service agreement. I was informed that I was able to change my payment method to either 6 months payment and save $30.00 or 1 year and save $60.00 or stay the same (monthly) and not aquire and additional savings. I opted for the 6 months billing. Upon reviewing my CC statement I saw that I was charged BOTH the regular billing AND the 6 months billing as well. I am not a happy camper. I will be calling Car Shield on Monday.
