I would give this company a zero if I could. There's no trial so if you're interested in looking at your options before contacting them, you can't. You have to commit to a full subscription to see your options. I was in search of a full-time nanny and most everyone on there are young people just looking for part time baby sitting. Very disappointed. Trying to get my money back.
I am a hard-working single mother, and I recently lost my left leg. 20 years ago, I had a charge for retail theft, I took food from a grocery store. 20 years ago.
They charged me $38 three times, then refunded it. This activity triggered a fraud alert for my card, which caused it to be suspended. This is a whole additional hassle.
I am so frustrated and genuinely hurt. I work 50 hours a week, and I'm a full-time student. My son is beginning kindergarten and I have no one to pick him up after school, since I work until 5:30 pm.
What am I going to do now that I've been labeled a threat? Quit my job and go on public aid?
Hi Corrine!
I am sorry to hear your feedback on the site. If you would like to message me with your full name, city/state and email address, I can review your account with you.
I needed transportation to a doctor's appointment. A caregiver responded to my post in her response she had her rate at $20.00 her max rate. When we talked, I told her the trip there and back to the doctor's office would be about 2 hours and another hour and half in the doctor's office. I told her I would pay her for a full day, 8 hours. I thought I was being very generous, she asked me if she could call me back, I said yes. When she called me back, she wanted more money? I was very upset; this is not helping a senior this is taking advantage of a senior. I contacted Care.com numerous times they DO NOT respond. If you post a negative review, it will not get posted. I had to finally file a complaint with PayPal. Care.com did finally respond, but not to what I was complaining about. They will not refund your money no matter what even if a caregiver miss treats you and you want to close your account. They don't care about helping seniors. Once they have your money, they don't care what happens to you, they're all about taking advantage of seniors. I do not recommend this place.
Hi Sharon! I am sorry to hear your feedback on the site. If you would like to, please message me with your full name, city/state and email. I would be happy to look into this for you.
I just learned that we've been billed when I thought we had signed up for a one-time use 5 years ago. We should have spotted but partner thought it was a medical site. By the way, we didn't find qualified help on this site. There are other sites. Use them and steer clear of this one.

I signed up with care.com to find work. I ha6many years of experience and paid for the background check. That took over a week to finish and then I applied for MANY jobs. It's been over a month and NOTHING. I find that hard to believe that nobody would even be interested in interviewing someone with as much experience as I have. It keeps saying to upgrade. Do you have to upgrade and pay more money for these people to see your profile?
Hi Heidi!
Thank you for sharing your feedback! It looks like we sent you a message! If you are needing any assistance or have questions about your account, please message me! I would be happy to assist you!
Barely anyone responds or has acurate info on their profiles. Even worse is that I cancelled months ago and they continued charging me AND won't refund my account after I flagged the issue to them.

After paying their fee I was met with zero customer service, with zero jobs.
I applied to every single job they had on the entire site, in every category and not one job came my way.
And no customer service to help or explain anything.
I had a great resume and I find work in these fields on my own with ease.
This site is just a money grabber. Isn't any actual work offered, they just post up these jobs to fool people into paying for their site.
Now you know.
Anyone who says different just works for the company.
I have reached out to this member to resolve the issue, but have not heard back. Additional help can be found at https://help.care.com/
I have been a member for many years and have paid for background checks when I would look for families or the parent would offer to pay from their end. I've never had complaints but as of Nov 2021 they are requiring $15 background check( due annually)even when I am not currently looking to add clients to my workload. It won't even let me check previously sent messages unless the other member is current. This is extremely annoying since they carefully monitor your email or phone number sent through their messages as a rouse for safety but actually they can control the entire process. I wanted to check on the original arrangement I had made with the couple I currently work for but as they are not current on care.com it will not allow me to see old messages and no help with their contact us resolving the issue, no response at all. As a childcare provider in the south I have never been paid very much and always work for a weekly rate so to have the extra burden of this annual fee is too much and I refuse to continue my business through them. Other than greed there was no reason to require a background check on the many members who have been with them for years nice to know loyalty means nothing to this company.
I reached out to this reviewer but have not received a response. If there are any questions, please go to https://help.care.com/
Watch out! Don't get ripped off like me. This platform only wants to keep your money, I was asked for a subscription to see the jobs since I paid no customer responds and neither do they. I demand my money back and my profile deleted! They never answer my emails! Their business is to charge a fake membership!
They are the worst! DISREPUTABLE. Do NOT PAY TO SIGN UP -- Auto charge does now allow you to remove CC info.
Warning! Do not give this company your credit card info. They'll drain your account and won't let you cancel and won't give a refund.
I got deleted my account because this one person reported me because she didn't want to pay!
Instead of investigating the fact, care.com just deleted my account and I had a lot of good reviews! I am soooooo upset! And this mom who was always negotiating the rate and was late to pay still have an account! I still haven't got paid from this person too!
The site is a scam. I signed up for a single month. I was then charged each month for two more months. After being charged for the first extra month I emailed the company asking to delete my account and to give me a refund as I only signed up for one month. I never received a response and I never received a refund. I was again charged the following month. I immediately emailed her again asking for my account to be deleted and to give me a refund. My account was canceled and I received a refund for the third month, but they refused to give me a refund for the previous month and refused to acknowledge that I only signed up for one month and they charged my credit card two more times without permission. All of us and I didn't even find a caregiver. There were no caregivers in my area, which didn't appear that way while looking at the free version of my account. Once I paid the money I was surprised to find out there was nobody in my area to hire.
Care.com It's a subscription for 30 days on the short term higher cost side and sign up for yrly membership it's cheaper monthly rate. I opted for one month, smart move! I felt my messages were being "throttled" bc all 7 people I messaged within 7 days I got ZERO response so I opted to cancel, that's where you get there phone number. But was told by phone I could get a free subscription but it cut me off within my 30 days I'm NOT HAPPY! So nothing was free for me. And I don't get message access so what's the use?
Someone stole money from me and Care.com is doing NOTHING to help resolve this issue. I paid for the service because I thought the did background checks on people! If you see someone named Claudia F. Don't hire her!
We needed someone to watch our dogs for a weekend. Many of the people we knew fell through and some people did not show up. We went to care.com to find people as we have been looking for a month and it was getting very short notice. We found multiple people but could not message a single one of them without buying a membership. It is outrageous that we would have to pay $40 when we are only going to use this service one time because everything else fell through. Thanks to you, we now have no idea what we are going to do with out dogs, one of whom is deaf. You are ripping people off and losing business because of this.
Care.com continue to take money from your credit card after you 'end' your subscription. No telephone number and they don't reply to e-mails.
Bad business! Do not sign up with them. They steal money and claim you signed up for a premium membership when you did not. Even if you send one message to someone you get put into a premium membership, and automatically charged. They will auto renew your membership without asking. This site should be shut down. Parents are desperate and are left to believe sites like this are good. When these sites, especially this one just takes money from parents who are struggling to keep to together. We have a right to disagree with the service and ask for our money back, and when we did not want to continue with the site we should not be charged. They claim there is no management to speak to about these issues.
Poor customer service. When asked for my money back they said NO. And denied me to speak to a supervisor. It also took 1hr to talk to someone who knows nothing and asked me 5 time how to spell Robyn. Ugh
I wish I had come here and seen these terrible reviews before I signed up for Care.com. I was looking for a nanny and had to sign up for the basic membership to contact anyone. Unbeknownst to me, they charged me two other hidden fees in addition to the basic membership I agreed to. In totally, I was charged around $260 to send a single email to a potential nanny. I tried to resolve the issue with them, assuming that it was some glitch or mistake. However, after 5+ times reaching out to them, I kept being told all purchases are nonrefundable.
This is a complete waste of money - do not waste your time or money on this website service. We signed up to find a nanny to watch our children, and received a lot of interest from nannies registered on this website. We set-up interviews and every single one of the applicants were a no show. We soon realized that CARE.com pays for the top 10 websites for reviews on their company on google.com search engine - you need to really search to find the accurate, honest reviews which reflect the reality of how awful this company is. After two weeks they refused to refund us (even though we were not able to find ONE applicant to return a call, or show up for an interview, and we had upwards of 50 applicants). We even asked if we could just pay for one month of service instead of the full year, to get SOME money back - and they refused. This is a scam, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY - you will regret it.
Answer: Hello, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they are currently investigating Care.com. This is important enough to me that they have scammed me out of 6 months of payments and I had to close my credit card for Fraud. If you have had a bad experience with Care.com, I would encourage you to file a complaint with BBB. If enough people complain, then they will take more serious action. Here is the website. It is a short process to submit a complaint. https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started
Answer: Steer clear from Care.com or what we prefer to call Care-aless. Com! They are only about profit for them. The site is for trollers that prey on innocent families. You'd be better off putting an ad in your local newspaper. Most local newspapers also have online readership too!
Answer: I am determined to shut this site down. I am contacting news programs, The Today Show, Good Morning America and any and all others. Shut them down!
Answer: This is so sad! I have been on both sides as I have an assisted living home in Pensacola Florida. I used care.com to staff my home; awful. Then when I had myself on as a provider they suspended me for a 14 year old non viloent misdemeanor, and they did not even have my permission to check past 7. They want you to get crappy providers, the good ones are kicked off because once ya get a good one, you no longer need them. Cash cow corrupt company who makes rules up as they go along, I heard 20/20 is doing a special. I plan to contact them, as I am verifiably the best care coordinator hands down, extremely good with direct care. You will only ever be returned 1 month contact the Federal Trade Commission file a complaint that's what I did, the more problems the better the case against care, com
Answer: I would be cautious. I hope she is not moving for the job, as that is NOT a good idea. I get text messages daily from people asking me to email them (often for a friend), or someone coming from out of town or whatever. I delete these right away. First of all, they should go through the regular website and email you. No one would hire anyone without first meeting them, checking references, etc. I am sitting at the home of someone I took with through the Care site. I first communicated via email, then set up a face to face and met the kids. If it seems too good to be true, it is. USE COMMON SENSE! Seriously, if you don't have common sense you really shouldn't be taking care of kids, pets or anyone else!
Answer: Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe they have a big money backer and can screw people of their money and lack of customer service? They should be called, I don't care.com
Answer: If I were you I'd choose another site. Care.com is terrible.
Answer: Some of the clients are looking for cheap labor through the internet for housekeeping. I usually tell the person to call me back for interview finish. Then I would tell them that I am self-employed and they would need to file a 1099 for taxes to IRS.
Answer: Care.com is set up for parents that pay for the service... Parents can enroll for free and place and add. However, If they do not forward their credit card any messages from caregivers will have a blocked phone number. The babysitter cam also enroll for free and make a profile for her services. However if she does nor forward her credit card she can only apply to 8 jobs every 28 days and only the ads from parents that have paid for an account will be able to contact her. DO NOT respond to anyone contacting you on your phone that did not contact through Care.com first... This is always a scam... The message will look like this: I am moving to your area soon and need car for my son/daughter. Kindly respond to my email.(They are looking to scam you for money.)
Answer: Sitter city.com could help you. I have honestly had nothing but problems with care.com. They make up rules as they decide not how things are written and do not follow their own privacy policy. They feed on single moms and dads. As well as children providing for aging parents You can place an add on Craigslist as well, for free and your prospective employee provides their own background check as it can be a most recent one and obtained by themselves at 5 to 10 dollars
