I mentioned I needed to clean on Saturday but after applying for the job they are telling me can't work on the weekends. I can't communicate easily with care. Com or the housekeeper.
Obviously you don't check your nurses for reliability as a quadriplegic I think this care.com is a sham to take your money

The site is designed to connect people seeking services of care; but conveniently makes you beg for your own level of service. Background checks have to be purchased per nanny (nanny's can bypass this) and you also have to complete one — pointless. Nanny's aren't vetter to ensure that they are US Citizens either — experienced this firsthand with someone I had in my home for 3 months; scary!

The experience has been frustrating. First contact I was given 3 choices. I chose the one closest to me but she never responded to my contact. Another woman made contact and we agreed that she would try it since she lives an hour away and has cat allergies and I have 4 cats. As we were emailing, the website came up with multiple other options that live closer but I had already made a commitment.
We'd be happy to assist you. The Care app cancels out contact info, can only chat, but can't call because phone numbers are blocked out. This defeats the purpose of paying Care.com to provide services. I paid for premium services that can not be utilized. Quite disappointed and pressed for time to have nothing work proper.
Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry for your frustration. To promote safe hiring, we encourage our members to communicate onsite as much as possible, and we keep contact information private in the initial messaging. When you're ready for a phone or video interview, ask the caregiver to resend their information, and it will be visible at that point. We'd also be happy to try to assist if you want to reach out to us through our Help Center contact us link at https://help.care.com/s/contactus or through Facebook Messenger. Pet sitters who have applied for boarding my dog do not respond back to me after I have contacted them. This makes me think Care. Com has taken my money, and there are no real pet sitters on their website. If sitter applied for job, why would they not contact me when I ask a simple question. This has occurred with more than one pet sitter. Website does say my message was delivered.
Thank you for your feedback and providing your information. Please be assured the profiles are on our site are real but I am sincerely sorry that you haven't had a positive experience! We will be reaching out to you via email. In the meantime, if you need further assistance, please reach out to us at reviewteam@care. We booked a sitter a week out, and our first sitter cancelled on us. After re-posting our job, we found another sitter who was GREAT.
However, she left us a summary of her time here, and care.com can't share it with us because I don't have an iphone. I don't like that the sitter left us a summary for our benefit, and care.com withheld that from us simply because I don't have the right phone. I use the website for everything, and to not be able to access information that my sitter left is unacceptable.
We'd be happy to assist you. For assistance, please reach out to us at reviewteam@care.com. Please include Reference Number REV 025367 when you email or reach out to us via our phone number listed on your credit card statement.
I was able to book a sitter for my 14-month-old daughter. Although Care.com recommends researching people before you book or let them into your home, they do not provide the individual's last name. Fortunately, the sitter I booked was forthright with that information and I found her lovely. However, not providing the last name or verifying the credentials of the people who apply to your post, it's like applying for a job and not giving your last name. More than a job, we are letting these people into our homes to care for our loved ones, without being able to vet them.
Thank you for your feedback! Safety is our top priority, and as part of our commitment to this, all caregivers on Care.com are screened and have their profiles reviewed. We don't provide our members' last names to protect their privacy and instead allow them to make the decision as to when they feel comfortable sharing this information with a potential employer. When you book a caregiver, please be assured you are able to message them and can begin your vetting process, including asking for their last name. When sending a booking request, we suggest you include a personalized message to start a conversation with potential caregivers, and send your request far enough in advance that you have ample time to prepare and evaluate those who respond. And as always, you can cancel the booking if you feel uncomfortable with a caregiver. We are happy to help if you'd like to discuss further; please reach out to us reviewteam@care.com and please include Reference Number REV-025316 when you message.

Ella was punctual and Kat enjoyed her time with Ella. Ella also lived close by so no need to pick her up before or drop her off afterwards.
We love hearing this! Thanks so much for sharing!

Care.com is not user friendly and the help center has been able to provide no help. We had an issue getting the criminal background check to go through, which we had already paid for. I contacted help and they weren't much help. Then, when it finally came through, I tried to open the background check for the sitter and I was getting an error message saying something along the lines of me already opening it so the one time link was expired. Then, I got an email saying that I reported the sitter due to what was on her background check, which I did not do. Help was unable to answer my questions. The one thing they did help with was deactivating my account.

Ana was prompt and friendly. She brought all her own supplies. We reviewed what I wanted and I left her to do the job while I waited in the patio.
She went over and beyond what I expected, she stayed several hours, because this was the initial cleaning and she wanted to be thorough. When I returned everything was perfect!
Thanks so much for the great review! I'm happy to hear you are finding success with the site!

I wish it would be easier to tell the people that were not selected for the job that the vacancy has been fulfilled. Once I book a person, it's hard to communicate to the rest and I keep receiving messages from them. I want them to apply again when I post a new job but they won't if I seem like I'm disregarding them

Booking our pet sitter on care.com was very easy. We had a great experience with booking, paying online, communicating with our sitter. Victoria was wonderful. She was on time very conscientious of taking care of our new puppy. We highly recommend Care.com and Victoria.

I hired a helper from Senior Care section. Her biography was very clear. She responded very promptly, came for a visit, and is just what I need. Her qualifications were clear and I felt no need to do extensive background checks.

We appreciate your letting us know you're having a good experience so far! Thank you for taking the time to post this review!
This was an easy process when all you need is a few days help. I didn't want to have to always rely on friends and family and finding help gave me a break, too.
We're so thrilled to hear that you have been having a good experience using the site! Thank you for sharing!
Amy stayed with our dog for 3 weeks while we were out of the country. She dealt with frigid weather and frozen pipes competently, keeping us informed, but handling issues confidently. She took wonderful care of our dog. We are so grateful for all she did to allow us to enjoy our time away, knowing that she had the home front covered.

Answer: Hello, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they are currently investigating Care.com. This is important enough to me that they have scammed me out of 6 months of payments and I had to close my credit card for Fraud. If you have had a bad experience with Care.com, I would encourage you to file a complaint with BBB. If enough people complain, then they will take more serious action. Here is the website. It is a short process to submit a complaint. https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started
Answer: Steer clear from Care.com or what we prefer to call Care-aless. Com! They are only about profit for them. The site is for trollers that prey on innocent families. You'd be better off putting an ad in your local newspaper. Most local newspapers also have online readership too!
Answer: I am determined to shut this site down. I am contacting news programs, The Today Show, Good Morning America and any and all others. Shut them down!
Answer: I would be cautious. I hope she is not moving for the job, as that is NOT a good idea. I get text messages daily from people asking me to email them (often for a friend), or someone coming from out of town or whatever. I delete these right away. First of all, they should go through the regular website and email you. No one would hire anyone without first meeting them, checking references, etc. I am sitting at the home of someone I took with through the Care site. I first communicated via email, then set up a face to face and met the kids. If it seems too good to be true, it is. USE COMMON SENSE! Seriously, if you don't have common sense you really shouldn't be taking care of kids, pets or anyone else!
Answer: This is so sad! I have been on both sides as I have an assisted living home in Pensacola Florida. I used care.com to staff my home; awful. Then when I had myself on as a provider they suspended me for a 14 year old non viloent misdemeanor, and they did not even have my permission to check past 7. They want you to get crappy providers, the good ones are kicked off because once ya get a good one, you no longer need them. Cash cow corrupt company who makes rules up as they go along, I heard 20/20 is doing a special. I plan to contact them, as I am verifiably the best care coordinator hands down, extremely good with direct care. You will only ever be returned 1 month contact the Federal Trade Commission file a complaint that's what I did, the more problems the better the case against care, com
Answer: Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe they have a big money backer and can screw people of their money and lack of customer service? They should be called, I don't care.com
Answer: If I were you I'd choose another site. Care.com is terrible.
Answer: Some of the clients are looking for cheap labor through the internet for housekeeping. I usually tell the person to call me back for interview finish. Then I would tell them that I am self-employed and they would need to file a 1099 for taxes to IRS.
Answer: Care.com is set up for parents that pay for the service... Parents can enroll for free and place and add. However, If they do not forward their credit card any messages from caregivers will have a blocked phone number. The babysitter cam also enroll for free and make a profile for her services. However if she does nor forward her credit card she can only apply to 8 jobs every 28 days and only the ads from parents that have paid for an account will be able to contact her. DO NOT respond to anyone contacting you on your phone that did not contact through Care.com first... This is always a scam... The message will look like this: I am moving to your area soon and need car for my son/daughter. Kindly respond to my email.(They are looking to scam you for money.)
Answer: Sitter city.com could help you. I have honestly had nothing but problems with care.com. They make up rules as they decide not how things are written and do not follow their own privacy policy. They feed on single moms and dads. As well as children providing for aging parents You can place an add on Craigslist as well, for free and your prospective employee provides their own background check as it can be a most recent one and obtained by themselves at 5 to 10 dollars
