Available in more than 20 countries, Care.com is the world’s leading platform for finding and managing high-quality family care. Care.com is designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s families and caregivers, offering everything from household tax and payroll services and customized corporate benefits packages covering the care needs of working families, to innovating new ways for caregivers to be paid and obtain professional benefits.
The company generally receives positive feedback for its reliable service providers and the ease of finding suitable candidates for various needs, such as pet care and housekeeping. Customers appreciate the professionalism and attentiveness of the service providers, which enhances their overall satisfaction. However, there are notable concerns regarding service reliability, with several reports of no-shows and difficulties in communication with applicants. Additionally, issues with the website's functionality and billing practices have frustrated users. Overall, while the service shows potential, improvements in communication and reliability are essential for enhancing customer experience.

If I could give Care.com 0 reviews, I would. I opened my account with them less than 2 weeks ago hoping I can find a housekeeper. I listed my job, got some decent applicants, and went forward with one of them. This person was so unprofessional and quit after 2 days of work. I paid this person what she was due, wished her well, but I did feel the moral obligation to write her an honest review. I have a feeling this person complained to the Care.com support team and got them to close my account without allowing me to explain my side of things. When I called customer support to understand what happened, they literally gave me zero support and explanation. They prioritize caregivers above care seekers. They took my money, cancelled me without a warning or the ability to explain myself, and now they refuse to give me a refund. I will have to dispute the charge against this fraudulent company. I do not recommend Care.com at all!
I paid for a 3-month subscription to Care.com on June 20,2025. Within 24 hours, my account was locked with no explanation. I received no services, no warning, and no meaningful communication. I contacted customer service immediately. I was told nothing specific about why my account was closed, and they refused to issue a refund. My chat with "Queenie" was abruptly ended, and my follow-up attempts have been ignored. This feels like a bait-and-switch: take the money, then disable access without accountability. I've filed complaints with the BBB, CFPB, and my bank. Consumers should be warned about Care.com's billing and customer service practices.
So this is why you got rid of the desktop ability to use you? So you could give all your money to elementary kids to color in your app with new colors? We can't use the desktop. We can't see our reviews. We can't update our availability. We can't change our profiles. We can't find out about a job before we accept it (and the details are severely lacking about the pets to know if it's appropriate to accept or not. Why would I use you when there is Rover?). Messaging stinks. We can't review families. We can't run background checks on them. You care very little about us providing all the care - but you have thousands and thousands of dollars to change your colors and fonts yet again. THE PEOPLE DON"T CARE. We just want the damn website... sorry, APP to freakin work!

After using the automated Q & A system the real truth came out! ALL THEY WANT IS TO GIVE YOU A "SO CALLED FREE ALERT MONATORE" and THEN YOU GET TO PAY MONTHLY MONITURING SERVICE" I was told this by the 800 operators when I pressed her for answers! READ THE Review's on them & and their services!

I really tried to give this platform a chance, but the experience was nothing but frustrating. It took hours just to find someone who seemed like a match, only to realize their availability didn't actually align with what was listed. Half the time, the site wouldn't even load properly I kept getting error messages. On top of that, the support felt one-sided. When an issue came up, I didn't feel heard or supported at all. It felt like they prioritized transactions over fairness or functionality. Great concept, but poorly executed. Definitely not something I'd use again.

I found a wonderful house keeper on Care.com who helped when my schedule was too busy to clean up. She was on time and charged a solid rate per hour. I like that she had a background check, unlike other sites.
Thanks so much for the great review! I’m happy to hear you are finding success with the site!
I had a really bad experience with this platform. A client didn't pay me for my time and then left a false review. When I reported it, instead of helping me, the company deactivated my account without even posting my side of the story. It felt like they only cared about the paying customer, not about what's fair. Also, they have sneaky auto-renewal charges and barely any good matches. Honestly, I've had way better luck with other services. This one was a total disappointment.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I had my long term nanny give her notice in fall of 2024 which meant I had one month to find a new nanny for my children. Knowing this I signed up for 1 month subscription". I ended up finding a new nanny for my family 3 weeks later (not on care. Com) and don't think anything else of it as I had subscribed for one month only. Fast forwarf a few months and I notice a r occuring charge on my credit card and upon looking into it I realize that care. Com has been charging me since I signed up. They have an annual plan and a month to month plan and yet even when you sign up for a 1 month plan you still have to cancel it. This makes no sense to me as why wouldn't you just sign up on an ongoing basis. I feel very tricked and I feel this is completely unfair. When I reached ouy to customer service they were rude and dismissive stating that it's in the "fine print". I escalated the issue and the manager met me with the same response of not being willing to refund everything but the one month I signed up for. I will never recommend care. Com and I will be telling all my mom friends never to use this scam of a service.

I paid the sum for 1/4 year but nothing changed. I had selected a person who lived close to me, but I COULD FIND NO INFORMATION AS TO WHAT MY FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS WERE TO CARE. Also, I could not communicate with this person. I saw. She tried to call me but could not connect. I did not know her e=mail had only the "connect " button/ Yes, I could have had a poorly written message, but before I had contacted with some 15 possible workers. And none of them responded, Ely at least tried to communicate. I have tried to find a cleaner for some three months. My membershp must have expired by now. I do not even know how to check if it is still active. I guess, Care, inc and I are not a good fit. I DO NEED HELP BADLY. I am 88 yars old and mobilty impaired. I will have to look elsewere. As nervous as I was about trying to get help, Care. Com alleviated all of my fears.
Thanks for sharing the love!

I feel so lucky to have found Rebecca. The kids loved her— even the shy one warmed up before I was out of the house. She was helpful with my two dogs as well. When I came home everyone was happily tucked into bed and my house was magically cleaner and strangely peaceful... I'm officially Rebecca's biggest fan.
We love hearing this! Thanks so much for sharing!

I sign up for the background check and could not get it to work. So I would not pay for that service. The care. Com app worked easily and I had great success in hiring a person. I used there personal referral and did and in person interview. I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE APP.

My sitter was booked about a week in advance. I found a nearby sitter who seemed sweet and we exchanged numbers. I never asked her age and it's never been an issue on this website before. I explained my sons special needs, the reason I needed a sitter and the situation (that it would be in a hotel room, which would be new for him, etc.). She said she had no concerns, was comfortable with his speech delay, etc. I was a little nervous that her profile was set up and her two 5 star reviews were all within days of each other but I figured she was new to the site. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt as I used to be a babysitter/nanny and I used care. Com myself to find jobs. I have never used the booking feature before; I've always just posted a job. I posted by job for 4/5 and then did the "booking." She told me her rate was $15-17 but I was offering $20 an hour for this one time job. To use the booking feature, her fee was set at $28 per hour, plus there were all the extra fees. I explained to her that I preferred to pay her cash the night of as I wasn't sure exactly what time I would be getting back. In fact, after "booking" with her, I had to ask her to come an hour earlier than I originally thought. I confirmed with her the day of around 4pm. She was due to arrive at 5:30. At 5:27pm I got a text from her canceling because it was "weird" to babysit in a hotel. I explained I was attending a wedding, sent her pictures of the invitation, the link to the wedding website, a picture of myself (all dressed up!) and my son, all at her request. She asked to facetime and then proceeded to ghost me, not answering the facetime or any further texts. All she had to do was call the hotel to confirm there was a wedding booking that night! I left a negative review while on my way to the wedding as I was so frustrated and upset. My brother flew all the way in from Texas to attend this event and he ended up staying at the hotel room for the ceremony and cocktail hour, at which point my dad went back to the hotel and my brother came for the reception. About an hour after leaving the review, the sitter's mother (supposedly), texted me and began to harass and insult me. She implied I was a sex trafficker, said I was "highly suspicious", that my request for babysitter in a hotel made no sense, etc. She then proceeded to insult me for "leaving my child behind" for such a special event, stating she would "pray for me and my family." I never gave permission for Makayla to share my phone number with anyone. I wanted a one time babysitter for a very special family event that was ruined because of this family's irresponsible and harmful attitude. I was in tears and scrambling to plan, adding unnecessary stress to an already long and stressful day. It makes me hesitant to trust anyone I find through this website.

Child care was exceptional by Katriel. She ensured my child was taken care of by reading and playing with him.

This is my first time trying this site. Unfortunately our full time nanny is off for medical reasons thus wanted to try to find backup care for the time being. Most of these profiles seem promising and one stood out to me. She messaged me after posting the job and she seemed happy to come and help out. She was supposed to come today at 7am. I told her it was ok if she wanted to come around 730 to give her more time but she sadly still hasn't replied or showed up. Now I'm hesitant to try to find care again worried that this will happen again :(

I spoke with Christina and thought we had a deal that she would call me on Tuesday morning before coming over and our time would start at 111 am. I waited until 10:50 and then called her. Her response was as if there was no agreement and issued a financial requirement she needed. It was reasonable and so we agreed that we would again try to meet the next day, meaning this morning. Again, she was going to call me before coming and asked me for the address I received no phone call and she did not show up as far as I'm concerned I do not wish to hire her. I'm in the process of looking at another applicant.

Answer: Hello, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they are currently investigating Care.com. This is important enough to me that they have scammed me out of 6 months of payments and I had to close my credit card for Fraud. If you have had a bad experience with Care.com, I would encourage you to file a complaint with BBB. If enough people complain, then they will take more serious action. Here is the website. It is a short process to submit a complaint. https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started
Answer: Steer clear from Care.com or what we prefer to call Care-aless. Com! They are only about profit for them. The site is for trollers that prey on innocent families. You'd be better off putting an ad in your local newspaper. Most local newspapers also have online readership too!
Answer: I am determined to shut this site down. I am contacting news programs, The Today Show, Good Morning America and any and all others. Shut them down!
Answer: This is so sad! I have been on both sides as I have an assisted living home in Pensacola Florida. I used care.com to staff my home; awful. Then when I had myself on as a provider they suspended me for a 14 year old non viloent misdemeanor, and they did not even have my permission to check past 7. They want you to get crappy providers, the good ones are kicked off because once ya get a good one, you no longer need them. Cash cow corrupt company who makes rules up as they go along, I heard 20/20 is doing a special. I plan to contact them, as I am verifiably the best care coordinator hands down, extremely good with direct care. You will only ever be returned 1 month contact the Federal Trade Commission file a complaint that's what I did, the more problems the better the case against care, com
Answer: I would be cautious. I hope she is not moving for the job, as that is NOT a good idea. I get text messages daily from people asking me to email them (often for a friend), or someone coming from out of town or whatever. I delete these right away. First of all, they should go through the regular website and email you. No one would hire anyone without first meeting them, checking references, etc. I am sitting at the home of someone I took with through the Care site. I first communicated via email, then set up a face to face and met the kids. If it seems too good to be true, it is. USE COMMON SENSE! Seriously, if you don't have common sense you really shouldn't be taking care of kids, pets or anyone else!
Answer: Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe they have a big money backer and can screw people of their money and lack of customer service? They should be called, I don't care.com
Answer: If I were you I'd choose another site. Care.com is terrible.
Answer: Some of the clients are looking for cheap labor through the internet for housekeeping. I usually tell the person to call me back for interview finish. Then I would tell them that I am self-employed and they would need to file a 1099 for taxes to IRS.
Answer: Care.com is set up for parents that pay for the service... Parents can enroll for free and place and add. However, If they do not forward their credit card any messages from caregivers will have a blocked phone number. The babysitter cam also enroll for free and make a profile for her services. However if she does nor forward her credit card she can only apply to 8 jobs every 28 days and only the ads from parents that have paid for an account will be able to contact her. DO NOT respond to anyone contacting you on your phone that did not contact through Care.com first... This is always a scam... The message will look like this: I am moving to your area soon and need car for my son/daughter. Kindly respond to my email.(They are looking to scam you for money.)
Answer: Sitter city.com could help you. I have honestly had nothing but problems with care.com. They make up rules as they decide not how things are written and do not follow their own privacy policy. They feed on single moms and dads. As well as children providing for aging parents You can place an add on Craigslist as well, for free and your prospective employee provides their own background check as it can be a most recent one and obtained by themselves at 5 to 10 dollars
