Cannot agree more with all the one stars, would give 0 if i could. Cause this is the incompetence and lack of commitment of their staff. 2 months passed and I'm still chasing my money, deducted after returning the car from my cc without any comments from anyone check24, cardelmar or Buchbinder. All 3 of them stand for bad service.if you don't wanna deal with your customers then start doing something else and leave the space for reputable and trustworthy services.

Booked a car from car del mar via Check24.de. When I went to pickup car the Budget knew nothing about it. But money was deduced from my credit card non-the-less. Check24.de takes no responsibility and car del mar cannot be contacted. A quality company, like Sixt, who I end up renting car from, does not deduct money till AFTER car is returned. These guys will charge you before you even pick it up. Stay away fro Car Del Mar (and Check24.de)!

Booked a car to be picked up from Brandenburg, Germany. Had booking confirmation etc. On arrival no car was there for me. Car Del Mar nonetheless took my money and refused to refund. These guys are thieves. Any reputable car company will deduct payment after you return car. These crooks take it before you even collect it - and if no car is there they will take it anyway.

I used car del mar in far Portugal and they were terrible. The direction they gave to find our car hire firm were wrong so wasting 45 mins of our time lugging luggage aground the airport car park. They then would not accept my wife as sole driver and we were ripped off 25 euro to add her. Their follow up response to my complaint has been if anything worse. Avoid like the plague

Please please please do NOT use CarDelMar or Rhodium/Goldstar. I booked a 4 door, four seater Fiesta car in the South of France for £150 approx - the final cost was over £450 once the local car hire company Goldstar had charged me additional costs for virtually everything, refused to accept the insurance, forced me to upgrade by offering a Fiat 500 etc The car was available from Hertz and Budget for £350. It is a SCAM. It also took me over 90 minutes in the sweltering heat before I finally drove away. A lesson learned for me!"

The measure of a good company is how they deal with problems when they occur. We had a problem (the car hire company supplied us the wrong, and inappropriate, vehicle).
Cardelmar simply weren't interested. Quoted terms and conditions that didn't even address the issues we encountered and showed no interest whatsoever in even discussing it with us.
Don't touch these guys with a barge pole.

Tip for consumers:
If you have to use them to get a feeling for prices but make sure you book direct with the rental company.

If it was possible to give ZERO stars, I would. This has been the most negative experience I have ever had with a car rental broker. Then only reason the fees seem so low is because the enormous amount of hidden fees that arrive at the car rental desk. By this time it is absolutely too late to cancel the reservation as the broker refuses to give you a discount. Brilliant plan at cheating hardworking customers. The customer service is completely unhelpful and says you only have the option of paying the desk fees and getting your rental car or paying for your reservation and not getting your car. I wouldn't even recommend recommend this website to my worst enemy and definitely not to any friends or loved ones. Save your vacation and stay away!

I would never rent from this company again. It took over an hour of administration before I had the keys to the car and about half an hour waiting to hand back the keys at the end of the holiday.

Whilst waiting, I saw lots of unhappy customers complaining about different things. The main complaint is about the hard selling that you have to put up with at the counter whilst they complete the admin. They strongly advise you that you need further insurance and of the dire consequences of not having that extra insurance in various scenarios.

I won't hire from Europcar either as they appear to be associated with CarDelMar.

Recently experienced using CarDelMar, over all not what I expected, I still need to use a n inflatable pillow to sit down properly. Next time I will bring my own lube.

It's a scam! They overcharged me 40 euro for picking the car up outside office hours, but they gave me the wrong office hours when I made the booking (maybe on purpose, because it looks someone on here had a similar issue). After endless calls with their support members, a support woman named Lieke who always interrupted me and never let me finish my sentence hangs up on me because she says she is not enjoying the conversation with me. I was stunned, more so since I own a support line myself! I was never rude in any way, I just told her that she needs to let me finish my sentence because I am the customer and it's her job to let me at least finish my sentence. She started arguing with me and hang up on me because she didn't enjoy the conversation. I was appalled! I bet she had no idea what my issue was even, because she didn't listen at all, but boy did she have a temper! And terrible English too. Worst company ever!

They are thieves. They rented a car with UNLIMITED millage. When I went to pick it up it was LIMITED.
When I came back I putted a claim for the extra money that I paid to Car rental company. They didn't do anything. The phone number and the email that they putted on the website is FAKE. No body answer you.

I picked up my renting car on july 8th to 11th in Malta and I have been very disappointed with the service.
I rent the car with "Car del Mar" company and I paid 104 euros for the car with comprehensive coverage.
When I arrived to Malta, they used an intermediary company: Aquarius Rent a Car. They gave me the car and they charged to me 112 additional euros just because.

They charged me the fuel: 36 euros for a half tank, that does not correspond with was in the tank, wich are 15 or 20 euros.
They also charged me the comprehensive coverage, which I had already paid it. (Then I paid the coverage two times!)
They have charged me 25 euros to collect the car at the airport.
And the guy who checked me tried to charge me more things but he removed it because I complained.

Then, I paid two times for the same car. I think this is a fraud.

A very useful service comparing car hire rates over many suppliers but beware the hidden problems.
We arrived at Luton to pick up a car 50 minutes late from Green Motion and found the office closed and were asked for £30 out of hours charge. The time we booked was within their office hours but we could not estimate the time from flight arrival to car pickup point so were late.
It was impossible to relate this complaint to CardelMar through their complaints form which rejected our booking number.
The booking software should allow for the likely time from flight arrival to office when estimating flight cost and warn if margins are tight.
