“Bad customer service? Not for me.”

Shane P.
7/12/23

I have no idea what individual stores are like when their customer service, but the folks I talked to online on their Facebook were absolutely wonderful. Answered all my questions and concerns with kindness and understanding. I had a computer shipped to me, took a little over a week and I'm in a more isolated location than most. Incredible experience. I would highly recommend.

“Charged $170 and they did nothing to fix my computer”

M. Curtis A.
7/8/23

If I could give negative stars I 100% would. This was by far the worst experience in any service industry I have ever had. They, did nothing to fix the issue that I brought my computer in for (issues with the charging inputs on my Windows PC). On top the $49.99 diagnostic fee that I was expecting to pay, they charged me $99.99 for 'internal dust removal and cleaning ' without my consent, and before calling me to pick my computer up. I suspect this company of intentionally tacking on gratuitous services to drive up their profit margins at the consumer's expense, expecting that costumers are too ill-informed about computers to notice or protest. If I have any continuing issue with my charger inputs, I will be demanding an immediate refund. Never go to CanadaComputers if you want fair dealing. Worse than any mechanic or used car sales dealer I've ever run into, who are supposed to have a shady reputation for bull-s**t. Never again.

Tried buying a SSD bracket today in their store at Richmond, BC. Went in and ask if they have the stock and was told no. I checked online for their inventory and turned out they do have 1 stock. Went in again after a few minutes and showing one of their employee the online inventory and at this point, things started went south. This particular employee started to get very impolite and instead of being professional, this employee repeatedly saying that I am confused and don't know anything about my pc in a condescending manner. Later on while I was chatting with their store manager (mind you their store manager and the other employee on site whose name is Peter I believe, were actually nice and patient), this particular employee was still loudly speaking from the other side of the store "you don't know anything about your pc". Is such a way of treating a customer acceptable to Canada computer? Instead of staying professional and answering your customer's genuine question about a product, this employee went out of the way and repeatedly accused the customer "confused"; "not knowing your pc at all". Yes you did not see it wrong - repeatedly for like >20 times and even very loudly across the store. I am aware that CC has a not-so-good reputation for customer service with regards to online shopping but this is a really a new low for their in-store experience. For this particular store, it is at 4731 Mcclelland Rd #1130, Richmond, BC V6X 0M5. They have a good employee (Peter) and a very nice store manager (sorry I forgot his name), however please be aware of this other very unprofessional employee.

Worst company to buy from, customer service sucks, I would never recommend any one to buy from Canada computers. Bought over $3000 of desktop parts to build my own, some of the parts were not compatible and they would not return it or replace it, and it was Canada computer recommending the parts for me.

Canada Computers is where i have been shopping for a year now.
Best prices on name brands.
Had a faulty RAM chip and they replaced it no problem.
Ordered a monitor from the web site to get in on a sale and it was delivered in two days.

I have an account on their website. I tried to buy stuff, it wouldn't work so I checked out as a guest instead.

Now for the last half a day they've harassed me with 10 (I kid you not) emails saying I have items left in my cart.

I've emailed them but obviously it isn't business hours so I guess on going to wake up with 30 more of these stupid emails.

How the f*** is your company so ghetto, or so stupid, that you beg customers to buy $#*! every 15 minutes with a f**king email?

Tip for consumers:
Giving one star on everything because emailing me every 15 minutes in regard to items still in my "shopping cart" is fu**ed up.

Pc parts.

I have bought many computer parts and built several gaming PC's from Canada Computers. They have been good with returns as well. I had one defective mother board out of two identical builds. They took the mother board back and exchanged it for another one which worked as it should.
Best place to find many computer components which you simply don't find at the big box electronics stores.

Tip for consumers:
I shop at Canada Computers local stores. I have not ordered for delivery from them before.

Products used:
Computer parts to build complete systems. SSD drives and memory sticks. Nvidia Shield tablet and TV box.

I went in with a picture from their web site of a cable that I needed. Three guys at the counter talking and no customers in the store. I asked for help and they said the cables are on the wall. They have hundreds of cables on the wall. After several minutes of me looking in plain view of the guys I finally went back to ask for help. After a few more questions he reluctantly came out from behind the counter a found the cable. These guys need training on customer service. Worst shopping experience in months.

I bought a refurbished laptop. Brought it home and noticed it had a damaged track-pad. I called the store right away and they said bring it back. I brought it back the next day. Did they give me my money back? Nope! I was prepared to spend more money on a brand new unit but they told me, "We're sorry but our head office has a policy." I have to wait 4-5 business days and they might not give me my money back for a damaged laptop! Canada Computers and their staff do NOT care about you in the least! Buy from them at your own risk! Canada Computers will not see a single cent from me ever again.

Tip for consumers:
Do not do business with Canada Computers. They are horrible! You have been warned!

First, I have no idea how or why they came up with Canada Computers as every store is located in Ontario and not one is anywhere outside of Ontario. Some of their products, they will only sell if you go to one of their stores for pickup. So, imagine you live in the Yukon, BC, Alberta or Newfoundland and you want to buy something but after you buy it, you have to go to one of their outlets in Ontario to pick it up. If this doesn't make this store a poor place to shop, then you either have too much money, too much time or own a Lear jet and have a great lack of common sense. Suffice to say, my criticism is well earned and I have been banned from making any online purchases. Whoa is me, whatever will I do as for everyone else, it might not be so bad if you live near an outlet as their prices are high to average with periodic sales that make it worth your time and trouble.

I am upset that nobody ever acknowledged me in the store. What happened to professionalism? Were they not taught that at work training? Service is poor compared to back in the day when the location first opened. To the manager: can you be oh so kind to educate your staff to not give me attitude.?

Placed an order. Once placed and my card charged they said it was back order. Online showed lots of stock. They then said it had shipped but after 10 days Canada Post doesn't have it and confirmed that to me. Canada computers has not opened a trace or taken any action. Clearly they don't have the products. Haven't shipped the products and simply taking my money until they can. I have called and emailed. I can't get a manager to call me back. Always busy when I ask. Just adds to the scam they are pulling.

They have a lot of complaints unanswered on the BBB.

Avoid them. A scam

Tip for consumers:
Do not buy from them.

None. They have not delivered it or refunded my money. They don’t respond.

A great place to get computer parts. Cheaper than Bestbuy/Futureshop. Similar to Newegg Canada. I've been buying from the Ajax location over the last few years and have had no major issues. Like most tech places, you should know what you want to get. I would also advise you to not base a purchase on what the associates suggest. They tend to push the items that they have in great quantity, versus quality.

I appreciate the help from the red curly hair tech member when I came in around 3 days ago but he forgot to give me back my HDMI to motherboard connector and that night I really needed it for a special event. I haven't been able to collect it due to me being so busy but none of this would've happened if he paid more attention. Even though a checkup is free he cost me my whole special event to go wrong which I was hosting.

Tip for consumers:
No

Unbelievable! I find what i want at the price i want on their website. I wait until the next day to phone and confirm the model number and specs. I order the computer, get it, and it's not the one! Yeah, sure, they offer me a refund... and say "sorry, we rely on info from our suppliers"... i don't care where they get the info... they posted a product at a price, and then refuse to honour it. And "J" at local 261 apologizes... big deal... words are cheap, and this company, IMHO, is a "bait and switch" scam! STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

I had a guy name Carlo which was awful experience says that it's been delivered and he cannot help me with anything. I have been scammed $1700 and no help. They scam me for a PC and my money and now they are not answering me anymore. Do not shop here. It is horrible.

Personally I don't rely on the sales people for information, and do my own research. I do understand that people may be asking for technical advice from the sales workers and not getting the right information, and getting frustrated. But in general, I find Canada Computers stores having most of the stuff that I need for competitive prices, and the return policy seems to be fair.

Tip for consumers:
Verify return policy at the store. Don't rely too much on the sales people, and try to look for reviews from various sources online.

Purchased a large format printer online June 25. When it didn't arrive in the indicated period (July 9) I e-mailed asking for tracking information. Replied to me with a form letter e-mail order cancellation and no explanation. Printer listed as 9 in stock at three of their various locations at that time. No explanation for that, just out of stock. July 11 - Spent an hour on hold with their "customer service" line *******088. After one hour it said leave a message and hung up on me. July 13 - Spent an hour on hold to other "customer service" line *******400. Same thing happened - it hung up on me after an hour. Informed them by e-mail that I have been in touch with Visa and the BBB. Claims to have processed a refund but nothing has been put back on my card. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!

I bought the Samsung S23 Ultra

Watch out for their return and warranty conditions.
There are many better retailers out there!

I bought the Samsung S23 Ultra, dual SIM international version.

Only 8 GB instead of 12 GB not so great!

They are located in HK.

Ordered on the 16th today is the 21th, product is still not here!

I do believe just selling some stock that nobody wants, and greed are at the top of your list. Customer satisfaction on the bottom.

bestbuy.ca marketplace has many phones to offer at similar prices, in most cases with the possibility to return the product!

Prices are generally ok. After you place an order and it gets confirmed they print a shipping label and let it sit around for a week before they can be bothered to actually ship it. I bought from them because amazon didnt have the parts yet. CC website said they had the parts in stock and they were priced well so I figured I would give it a shot. Since then amazon has gotten the parts listed for same or cheaper price and they could have it to me tommorow but now I am stuck waiting another 7 days after they took 5 days (3 buisness days) to get around to giving it to canada post. If you arent in a hurry then they seem great. If you have a deadline stay clear
