It's hard to find any information about what's been happening with borderlinx at its UK/Germany/HK sites, but the website is now down (10 June AEST), so there's simply no way to monitor the situation. It's insane that our packages will be forfeited, it's a horrible outcome, and shows how illusory 'protection' is in this freight forwarding game. I count myself lucky that the monetary consequences are modest, though my purchases were hard to find items. Good luck to all trying to recover from borderlinx!

Completely irrelevant items are evaluated as 'prohibited item'. Like, windshield wiper blade, auto brake pad, auto diagnostic tool... It will take you to write several emails, sending links of the product, sending the invoice and minimum one week wait so that somebody in the warehouse will look again to the item and tell "Oh yes, this is not a prohibited item". If I was asked a few months ago, I would recommend them but customer service and warehouse team has been failing since a while.

I have used Borderlinx professionally several times, and the service and reliability has dramatically changed since they moved to a newer warehouse. It takes longer and longer for a package signed off for to be added to a suit (up to 8 days) and my last shipment still is not send after being released 2 weeks ago.
The worst is that they do not inform you of the situation, customer service is a joke with standard answers and no help at all and claims or compensations can supposedly only be made when the goods have arrived or the goods are lost by the forwarder (DHL). In this case the goods are still somewhere at Borderlinx, but nobody can tell me where.
I have no information to give to my customers, I lost money on this and I can't get any true help from Borderlinx.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid and use other services. There are tons out there.

I guess all these people giving positive reviews are employees or their relatives lol
I had a really bad experience plus charges came up sky high. Not to mention the site looks amateur. Only positive thing is that CS seemed very quick in their responses.

I ordered a Tonino Lamborghini lighter from Amazon.com which the USPS delivered at borderlinx on 4th February 2017, now people at borderlinx are unable to locate my order and are asking me to provide all kinds of irrelevant details to find the whereabouts of my order. This is very unprofessional of them.

We receive hundreds, if not thousands of shipments everyday at our warehouse and it is very hard to locate or identify 1 shipment among all the shipments we have in our warehouse. And to help us easily locate the shipment in question we always need the 5 pieces of information.

I see a lot of negative reviews regarding borderline this makes me not willing to ship more then a low amount of products. I just send a cheep item that cost like 7 dollars to see if it initially arrives. And If it does I will update the status

We use DHL express service to ship all your shopping. As such there is a minimum cost which is not based on item price but weight of the package. Please note there is a minimum cost for first half kilo. We advise that you use our online cost calculator prior to shipping for an estimate on the total landing cost. Many customers don't do the basic homework and go ahead on assumption leading to such situations.

I ordered from a supplier in the UK. Since I am outside the UK, I had to pay VAT which the supplier stated would be refunded once the shipper sends him a stated document. I selected to use UK borderlinx to have my goods shipped as I thought it would cost cheaper.
I received the goods. I contacted Borderlinx to forward the proper documentation to my supplier(who very willingly called and mailed Borderlinx) but Borderlinx didn't do needful(4 months gone by) and still no follow up. I paid an additional 62 gbp on my goods which I could have not paid if I would have shipped the goods directly from the supplier.
What a waste of money & time because of Borderlinx!
I would not recommend other business related persons to use Borderlinx!

Borderlinx lost my package because of some internal move between different hubs in the UK.

I talked to support 2 times a day for three days, getting new explainations every time. It was clear that the support didn't have a clue or was instructed to lie.

The blamed the merchant and the speditor but would not accept any blame.

As it turns out, the package was actually delivered the first day to Borderlinx, then they lost it internally for a couple of days and then it turned up.

I demanded a good discount before releasing the package to make up for this added time and troubles but they refused.

Will not use it again!

I learned the VERY hard way to research your shipping costs with this company. Import to Canada from US is always nasty, but a $1000. 00 item I purchased on eBay ended up costing me an additional $500.00 Cdn just for shipping to Toronto. That is absolutely unacceptable and I would have abandoned the purchase if I had realized the total cost to get the package to Toronto would approach $1000. 00 with duty, tax shipping and insurance (mandatory) Yikes.
To be fair, they do have a shipping calculator that will give the outrageous price before committing, so buyer beware. I would say this service is a last resort when there is no way to get something from one country to another.

Ordered an Ipod touch, boxed in certified 32lbs/inch edge crush test packaging from merchant but Borderlinx put it in plastic DHL envelope and then charged me $60 based on the envelope size and said the original packaging was not suitable. I have sent several emails including images but they are just basically ignored. $#*!ty customer service and generally a dodgy way of doing business. Going back to Shop n Ship with Aramex!

Misleading "express shipment" method, a dhl rep. Just assured me that they only have one account with them and all that borderlinx does is process the papers faster! Dhl delivery time is the same! They want you to believe that they are shaving a few days while it is actually the same process!

I'm leaving on holiday this Saturday without my new computer because I payed extra for express shipping and it will be delivered in SIX DAYS INSTEAD OF TWO!

Long time customer here, I really felt betrayed.

Back to my old trustworthy service.

Tip for consumers:
I honestly can't recommend them anymore.

Even though I think Borderlinx's use of DHL is a good choice since I can get the goods from the US to HK within 3 days, their processing time is a bit slow. just now, I had my package delivered to borderlinx at 9am in their time but the goods only appeared on my suite at borderlinx at 4 or 5pm. I wanted to ship it before the weekend starts but I am not going to be awake at 4am in HK time to do that.
also, the cost of shipping is too expensive. i have opted for repackaging but they have only repackaged the clothing from amazon but not the goods from kate spade. the volumatric kg for kate spade ended up being huge despite it consist of one accessory and 3 wallet...i dont know how the original package arrived (i will find out soon) but it must be packaged very inefficiently. when they already know what i already bought, shouldnt it be their responsibility to repack so i can save on the cost. so, the total cost for shipping turned out to be usd100. basically, i didnt enjoy much saving. last time i shipped shoes and a bag and the total cost was not as high, being about usd 70.

anyway, i now will no longer use borderlinx and switch to comgateway. at least, i will save on the usa tax since comgateway is at oregon but borderlinx is at ohio.

very unhappy with the recent shipment being charged a hopping usd 100 for essentially no repackaging of goods....

I have been using Borderlinx for some time but I too think that they are getting worse and worse, their shipping costs from the UK are now so ridiculous. I will look for an alternative and stop using them too.

42 days ago my parcel was departed to my country, through USPS. In september 18th I asked them to make a claim to USPS once the Post Service of my country said to me that the parcel was not in the country.

Since them Borderlinx seems to be cheating about it, saying all the time that the parcel is going through custom clearence costum process. But it is not. My counstry's Post Service says it would be on tracking events if that was the case.

After I insisted with them Borderlinx said it would get in touch with their shipping partner. But the answer was the same: custom clearence process. But it is not. Again my country's Post Service says if it is not in my country.

I supposed Borderlinx don't even bother to make a claim do USPS, and is saying the same thing expecting I will stop making the claim somehow.

The don't give a damn about you parcel once it was posted.

I will not work with Borderlinx anymore. It is not trustworthy.

For me, I'm one to try all options, a little disappointed in the way they "offer to repack" orders to lesson the cost. Honestly it has nothing to do with DHL. I spoke with the rep from borderlinx, he insisted that due to "company policy" even though, every item is from different stores, he ensured me that each item is to be individually packaged. Not one to split hairs, so paid the s&h fee, the part I do enjoy is, everything shows up at one time. Since I let Borderlinx do what they think is "company Policy", I'm going to do what I can about changing the way Borderlinx handles their S&H. I'm an environmentalist when it comes to excessive garbage. The part I'm enjoying is "everything is on hold till you release the shipment" they did not in fact say, who/what/why/where/when/how. As far as I'm concerned is the company Borderlinx is, considered a "transfer point" kinda like a bus station. Their job is to make sure nothing illegal enters the country, or is being exported from the country. They cover all angles in regarding the conversion rates, the measurements, the weight and the taxes are covered. So for me, what I have been told, their is no taxes on anything over $20/US. Regardless on how many outlets I'm shopping from. I'm working well within their "company Policy", I'm a little uncomfortable with their S&H, since no one in the company speaks proper english, I can only assume their morals will follow suite. Not going to send in a complaint, I'm just going to send a copy to my lawyer and have a 2nd opinion from another lawyer, on this matter. For me I have saved all transactions, all emails everything. If they refuse my service, it's also considered "discrimination" on their behalf. Something just doesn't feel right so I'm going to tear it down;-) "Have a great weekend;-)"

Hello Dwayne, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We always try to reduce the shipping cost for you to make your shopping experience more meaningful. We reduce the individual size of the package, wherever possible, as the dimensions of the package do affect the international shipping fee (refer volumetric weight - http://www.borderlinx.com/en/pages/faq/volumetric-weight).

Additionally, you can save a lot on the shipping cost by consolidating multiple shipments. Consolidation is the process of combining multiple packages in order to release them together. This does not mean that the goods will be repacked in one single box which is something we don't do due to problems with invoicing, safety of items etc... By consolidating your shipments, all your packages will be shipped out at the same time and forwarded under the same tracking number, but delivered in their original packages.

This service is expensive. They used to repack items but apparently they got lazy and now refuse to repack anything even if I have opted for all items to be repacked. It seems that they like to refuse repacking anything such that the volumetric weight is higher and they can charge you more. I also had a long debate with them over an item where apparently it was deemed hazardous to be shipped to my location (even though countless other items had the ingredient in it and those had been shipped multiple times over). Also, they had ill-advised logic that cetearyl alcohol = alcohol (flammable). I had to fight with them over a month before I had no choice but to dig out the MSDS form of the product in question (mainly because they pushed me to a wall with that) and show it to their face that it had ZERO hazard in being shipped before they tucked their tail inbetween their legs and shipped the item to me. Frustrating and excruciating to deal with. The only saving grace was that they did respond to my incessant emails. I'm still going to go with other less annoying options.

Their rates are way expensive! When I asked why they claimed "Oh we use the fastest and most reliable service, DHL"... I used DHL, Aramex and TNT locally in Kuwait and I know for sure that DHL is not the fastest or reliable... Borderlinx will charge you way expensive rates where you can get the same service with any other courier co. I personally used borderlinx twice and then went back to using another shipping co which offers real FAST and RELIABLE services for a very REASONABLE price.

First of all let me just mentioned the name of one of borderlinx unproffesional Customer Service Representatives "SUMIT".
I had an issue with my parcel that contains a prohibited item. So i tried To seek for a solution by chatting with Borderlinx CSR Jaspal. He mentioned the prohibited item and gave me multiple solutions and said he would get back to me within 24 hrs.
The 24hrs had passed and there was no email, so i tried to chat with a CSR with the same issue id conversation (LTK*******101X) that i had with Jaspal. The subject was " advise on the parcel that contains prohibited item". Then this Sumit started typing and all i get is "DISPOSE". Wow really? Thats ur advise? I replied back by saying shouldnt u give me solutions like return to merchant or maybe send to a different address! But he responded very unprofessionally. I respect the policy and im fine with disposing prohibited items "been there" but the way it was "advised" to me was very wrong. At least the 1st CSR pretended to help.
Ive been dealing with boarderlinx for 2 years and i had never experienced such thing. Hope to hear of an action taken towards my issue!
