I have an older motor,2001 Johnson 50 hp outboard and have had some lower unit issues.Another vendor had a backorder issue on reverse gear and this vendor eventually shipped entire gear set to my mechanic but he NEVER received gear set and I have had issues resolving the missing gear set.My wife suggested another vendor and Boats.net sent entire gear set to me and I will personally hand-deliver parts this Friday.We ordered them last Friday received them just yesterday!Awesome service

All was fine. Biggest issue I have is that you ship something weighing less than 2 ounces, costing about $5, and you charge you me $8+ for shipping...no expediting, just UPS who dropped it with USPS. Pretty crappy.
I purchased a bolt ($20 including shipping), that is no longer available. According to Sea Ray and to Boats.net website, they had the needed bolt. However the only picture of the bolt was the part number on the package but not a photo of the bolt. I received the bolt and it was not the right one. It was the bolt that Boats.net said was the right one but they were mistaken. I contacted customer service to get a return authorization and they wanted to verify my engine number. I sent that to the and have not heard anything back. I am still wanting to return the improper bolt but all I get is CRICKETS! Not very happy with their way of doing business. I would suggest anyone needing a part especially an obsolete part to check eBay first and exhaust every other option before doing business with these Clowns. I would give them a ZERO but that was not an option. Don't expect customer service to return your email beyond them asking for your engine serial number. Horrible Business Model!
After ordering, I was notified that some of my items were not in stock. Initially, it only added two days but they kept "adding" days of delay on top of that. Meanwhile, the items I truly NEEDED were held hostage until ALL the order could be fulfilled. Basically it took an extra week.
No problems with the actual parts.

If we don't have items in stock you can request a partial shipment with our customer support for $7.95 or use the Rush shipping option at checkout which ships everything in stock in a shipment initially then any backordered parts in a 2nd shipment. I've purchased quite a few parts from them over the years. The site is pretty easy to navigate but they can be painfully slow to ship and don't have many of the items in stock. Often times once you place the order, you'll get updates stating the arrival of the item they don't have keeps getting pushed back. Not really what you want to hear when you want to get the repair done so you can get back on the water. If you email customer service about it, their response is usually not filled with care or concern. Next time I think I'll look elsewhere.
I asked for help finding a gas and water separator for my yamaha motor. The representative found the filter but after delivery I found out that is was the wrong one. When I asked to return it they said no problem but I had to pay for shipping. Not what I thought was appropriate. They recommended the wrong one after I gave them all the specs on my motor. They should of payed for shipping. I will never use them again. West Marine had the wright one in stock for less money.
Well i ordered a fuel pump for my Yamaha T8. Got the order in fast time, however I was sent 2. Two different orders, two different boxes, however I only needed one. I have no idea how another order was generated. Called this morning and requested a return for the one. Other than that, I was happy with the order.
Takes way too long to get item. Even if you pay extra for shipping takes over a week sometimes longer.

Pkg arrived and was completely the wrong part. I ordered a set of replacement motor keys and received a Bering Gasket seal

Advertised was a package of the same gaskets for a GOOD price. Web site showed a picture of the package of gaskets. When I received my order I only got 1 gasket instead of the package as advertised. If I elect to use Boats.net again I will be calling them in advance of placing an order to confirm that what is advertised is truthful and not a mistake!
In stock items ordered & paid for are now 'out of stock'. So now, the rest of my items in my order are held hostage for an entire month waiting on manufacturers to supply stock. Leaves me & my customers high & dry. I could really use some of my other ordered items to finish other customer builds...
Always get the correct parts sent and the selection is really extensive.
