Trash card.! Received an E- Prepaid card, and it gives you the option to add the card to your Apple Pay so you can "use the card wherever MasterCard is accepted". LIES.! You can't use the card for ANY STORE.
THE CARD LITERALLY ONLY WORKS IF YOU'RE BUYING SOMETHING ONLINE. IT'S A HASSLE TO GET CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE LINE, AND WHEN I DO, THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO HELP.! I have literally had to jump through hoops to even get gas with this card although the card is ACTIVELY tied to my Apple wallet. Simple transactions turned into embarrassing declines and error messages at multiple stores! & customer service has NO IDEA how to help you! I HATE this card. I hate this company.
No other way to frame this except just to tell how it happened. I proceeded to activate a giftcard I was given through the website provided. After activation it hadn't even been 15-30mins and every single dollar was taken off except for one cent that was for some reason left. I immediately called customer service to let them know what happened, gave them everything they asked for.
Now, here it is a month later still no answers nor a resolution. Haven't gotten any type of reimbursement or answers. Only thing I've been told now is that it can take up a 90 days for their team to even let me know if I can be paid back or not!
Even though the one transaction on the card was where somebody took what was on there!
I just don't understand how that can even happen when I used the website that's provided on the card to activate, nobody else was even around me I'm just baffled.
Im starting to feel like the whole thing is a scam, maybe I'm wrong but when you get the customer service that I've been getting you have no other option but to believe the worst about the company because the whole thing seems like a shady runaround practice. I don't know who else has had the same experience but if so it's just more fuel to what I'm suggesting... Which is this entire thing is just a huge fraud, scam, whatever you wanna call it.
They just want to run you around in circles until you're so dizzy from it that you don't even want to pursue your money anymore. Awful business!
I purchased 2 $100 gift cards that could not be activated. Filed complaint, Blackhawk reviewed all my card purchases w PayPal and now my daughter account was froze because Blackhawk said she stole my cards! Help
Given a Joker ppd visa as a gift. What a joke, indeed. A fraudulent transaction was made on my card. The vendor immediately recognized the transaction as suspicious and reversed the charges. After supplying BHN with requested information and additional info, I am still waiting for my credit to be reloaded by BHN. (CASE#*******. I had requested an update on July 15th as this has been ongoing since July 6. No response thus far. Pitiful customer service when they owe you money. DO NOT BUY BHN PREPAID CARDS! BUYER BEWARE Most disappointing experience. My photos would not upload here. Also most annoying.
I had a problem redeeming a gift card, so I contacted the company. They kept me going back and forth for over a month. Each time requesting more and more information. They finally agreed to refund my money, but then reneged at the last minute. BAD BUSINESS!
Received a $50 VISA gift card from Blackhawk Holding on 5/5/23. I attempted to use the card to make a $50 purchase on 7/24/23 which was declined for lack of available funds. I called to check balance and transactions.
I have not made these transactions, I asked for information on who these transactions were paid to, Blackhawk refused to assist with unauthorized transactions because there were reported 60 days after
Blackhawk Gift Card provider is EmblemHealth gift card provider. One lies and the other one swears. Both of these companies stand together and avoid at any cost to avoid sending your gift card rewards as promised. Totally misleading and lies by both parties. Very upsetting and horrible to deal with. Avoid at all costs to do business with ether company unless you wish to argue for months and hours and hours with a nowhere conclusion! Thank you! Steve
Bad just bad don't get this card if you have complaints can't get ahold of anyone. Scammers. Won't help say they will send you a form 15 days to send it then you don't get it. They don't speck English
Received gift card, activated and at same time I was using for small purchase; 2 large GameStop purchases were made somewhere else. Contacted customer service immediately and was told would be reviewed within 30 days after which I followed up and was told I had to fill out paperwork, followed up again and was told they were missing one page of my paper work, followed up again and was told I was past their 90 day time frame to receive credit. Asked for a supervisor who told me to follow up with GameStop to get my money. I'm owed over $140 and have no doubt that this was an inside job
Complaint has been filed with Attorney General and BBB
I put in a complaint all I got is the run around. They sent a tracking for my case can not open it. I found out got scammed
They will not help the incent person they stick up for crooks. Not Recommend to use the company for anyting. Do not buy visa prefect gift cards
This review is for Blackhawk Network as the parent company for Giftcards.com. I discovered 4/22/2017 that all $500 had been removed from my visa giftcard due to dormancy. I was initially told the funds were turned over to my state of residence (escheated) but my state had no record of this occurring. Fortunately, I was both purchaser and receiver and still live at the same shipping and billing address, because if you are trying to make a recovery they try to muddy the waters by telling you that the purchaser must contact them, information must be verified, etc. It took 2 months of persistence and filing 2 BBB complaints before this was finally resolved on 6/18/2017. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. During this process, I can't tell you how many times I was lied to, given incorrect information, and subjected to stall tactics.
I received a Retail Therapy gift card for $50. I could not figure out how to use it so I set it aside. I happened to look at it on Aug 4,2024, and it stated it had to be used from 6-4-24 through 8-4-24, I was SHOCKED.
I Just Spent Over 3 Hours Attempting to Use It and to write this review.
They market this by saying that it is a very nonstressful way to buy and it removes the stress. Exact opposite of my experience.
I went to numerous of their sites and put in the card number and pin. They also demanded my name, address, phone etc. each time and kept refusing the card number when I attempted to use it. I tried at least 5 times.
This was so stressful I could not believe it. And they promote this card as a terrific way to buy. WHAT IS THE POINT OF BUYING A CARD, ONLY TO SWAP IT FOR A MERCHANTS CARD FOR A $ FEE (OF COURSE) Nothing logical about that.
Distributed and serviced by Blackhawk Network California, Inc. Covered by Blackhawk Network patent, blackhawknetwork.com/patent. Figures it is California.
I went online to several sites and they refused to accept the card number and pin. I called Ulta as I planned to use it to purchase an Ulta product, and the girl that I spoke with told me it could be used on their site. However, it did not work. I resigned myself to having to leave my home during a hurricane, as it ran out that very day, when I happened to google, "does retail therapy make you swap their card for a merchants." Thank goodness I stumbled across this and thought to search using this sentence.
They finally allowed me to swap out their stupid card for an Ulta card for a $2.00 transaction fee which I never saw that they disclosed. Of course I had to go to another site, then to my email, then to the merchant's site. So stupid! I wanted to pick up the card after the hurricane which the Ulta girl told me I could do. However, the card swap only gave me the choice to have the product delivered.
Life is so stressful right now. Why oh why would you make anyone's life more stressful?
THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY EVER. Do not trust them with your money. I'm from Mexico and I purchased 10 gift cards to give to my employees on October 2022, I still haven't been able to use them. The salesman, Aaron Cortés that sold me these products is rude, won't even pick up the phone, sends me unclear messages and since their website doesn't have any contact number information, I can't even reach out to his boss to report this person. I'm planning on suing them soon.
blackhawknetwork.com A.K.A cashstar.com is a HORRIBLE Company. I wanted a to send a gift card for Hannaford's Supermarket to someone. THEY redirected me to "CASHSTAR", which is run by blackhawknetwork.com. They send out gift cards with NO TRACKING number. It takes about 5 days for First Class mail to go coast to coast but it's been over 10 DAYS and still NOTHING. It's not so much of a "SURPRISE" Gift card when you have to keep asking the person if they even got the gift card yet. I get a funny feeling someone ELSE is using that gift card with no way to track it. AVOID THESE PEOPLE!
Too bad I can't give zero stars. This company is a scam! I got a gift card from Jocker Visa and right after my first purchase got hacked. I was not able to use it or even check my credit. After I contacted Blackhawk Network they told me that I needed to send them proof of purchase, but this was a gift! So I contacted the person who gifted me the card to send me his purchase (this process was super bureaucratic). Then they told me to wait a month to get the money remaining. After that, I contacted them again and they told me they were going to send me a card with the money remaining. Then after another month I contacted them for the third time and they told me they send the card but they forgot to put my apartment number, which is a lie because the concierge would have got it and given it to me. Then they told me they were going to send me the card AGAIN. Long story short... it has been more than 3 months since my incident, and every time I called the same guy was answering my calls (with the worst customer service skills). So please, avoid Jocker Visa and any company related to Blackhawk Network.
I purchased 5 Visa giftcards and was locked out of using 3 of them from the first attempt to use them. It is worth noting that the attempted usage was in the same city that the cards were purchased and activated in, so it makes little sense that their system would auto-lock them for suspected fraud. Despite numerous calls to Blackhawk and promises they would be unlocked in 2-4 hours they remained locked for several days. When they were finally unlocked, I was told they had been permanently locked out from being used at Giant, one of the largest supermarket chains in the northeast with a parent company that owns over 19 national supermarket brands. Several hours after finally being unlocked, someone attempted to charge $500 to a $200 card 900 miles away from the cards registered location with a company that seems to solely exist for the purpose of laundering giftcards under the guise of charity - 3 clear indications of fraud that any regular credit card would have blocked and yet Blackhawk's system didn't flag it. Nonetheless, they flagged my $200 transaction days earlier at a local supermarket, but allowed the fraudulent transaction to go through. When I reported the fraudulent transaction within hours, the Blackhawk rep mishandled the case and failed to lock the card or even file a dispute. Luckily, I called back the following day else the dispute never would have been filed at all. Thus far, Blackhawk has been dragging their feet and has failed to provide me with the $200 they owe me. Moreover, I have learned that their reps are not supposed to ask for the number on the front of the card and yet one of them did - likely the person that fraudulently used it - a Blackhawk employee. These people are thieves that make their living off ripping off their customers. Check the back of the giftcard packaging for their brand name and if you see it, RUN. They WILL rip you off.
Scammers who won't ever pay what you are legally entitled to. Special place in hell for these kind of people. Happy burning you disgusting thieves.
***UPDATE***
I FINALLY received the cheque for the funds owed. Unlike other retailers who would have also included a credit or something for all the trouble, NOTHING! So I'm not changing my 1* review. I will NEVER deal with this company again. So my advice, before purchasing a gift card for someone, fo your due diligence and find out where the gift card originates from and if it's Black Hawk DO NOT PURCHASE!
Because of an error made by Blackhawk Network, on my Happy Dining card, I'm out $54.78! I went to a Boston Pizza, which is one of the restaurants the card covers, and the card didn't work! After 20 minutes of fighting to use the card, I had to call a friend to come and pay the bill. I asked for a credit to be placed on the card, nope, they did send me a cheque for the amount on the card, but refuse to reimburse me my out of pocket funds. After reporting them to BBB, they ended up lying about my case! Now they aren't responding to either myself or BBB. I will be reporting them to the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Consumer Affairs. Their lack of customer service and lying just proves they are a terrible company.
