TCF Bank
May 18, 2020

After first having to go to a number of branches to find one open, after sitting in the snail pace traffic line as the drive through is all that is open. I aatempted to cash a check written to me from a TCF account holder. I was told I would have to first set up an account to cash check, when I pointed out the check was from a TCF account I was informed I had to set up a "check cashing" account and I would have to pay a $25 dollar fee to cash my check (FROM A TCF ACCOUNT HOLDER!). I then remembered why myself, and wife moved ALL accounts out of TCF, $25 to cash a check from their own client! Avoid these clowns!

Total fraud
December 23, 2019

They said that I was going to receive $150 in bonus ads prior to me giving them my credit card details. They lied and plan to bill me $170 next month for fraudulent clicks I received on my ad. I am not going to pay for this blatant fraud. They lie about how you are getting a bonus when in fact you are not. Total fraud. That is what Yelp is.

Reply to the commenter: I closed my debit card account and a new one was ordered for me by my bank. Yelp still managed to fraudulently charge the closed debit card account. Yelp did this through contacting Visa, not my main bank. My bank told me the Yelp cocksu**kers had presented an alleged agreement between Yelp and me to Visa so as to charge the closed debit card account. As soon as my bank found out that Yelp had stolen my money by fraud, it credited the money back into my account. Jay, close your debit/credit card account as "stolen/missing." Tell your bank or credit card company to add a "stop check" to your account too. That way, Yelp cannot charge your closed debit/credit card account like it did in my case. They'll then threaten you with a baseless collections letter. But you have a right not to be lied to in the form of false advertisement from Yelp. At that point, you may go to court to have any bull$#*! collections info removed from your credit history. If you gave them a false first name and last name when registering for your Business account, they may not charge any account in a different name. $#*! Yelp!
Yelp is a scam! Yelp needs to be sued and I'm looking for the company's head too.

Yelp Business is a SCAM
December 21, 2018

Wow! I am the latest victim of Yelp!... I too was suckered in by the $300 in free credit... I have to start googling these things before signing up and providing credit card information... They got me for $1300 dollars... What I found to be mind boggling was that they never sent any payment confirmations or invoices or anything for their monthly billing... They just silently bill you while providing no ROI at all... Its SHAMEFUL and Ironic for such a successful company like YELP to take advantage of small business owners and no one seems to be providing a consequence for their actions so they keep doing it to so many people... Basically I was never informed by their reps that I had to go turn off the ads after the credit expires... from the control panel and how to exactly go about doing that... I have gotten exactly 32 clicks to my website for $1300 dollars... THATS INSANE... and not a single message or lead was of quality enough to turn into any sort of business... ALL TRASH... If you are reading any of these comments prior to advertising with YELP!... I am sure you dont need any more advice as far as not to do any business with this crooked company... I will do my best to spread the word more and as should you and anyone else you know... -- Muzzammil Sajjad

Yelp is the worst when it comes to helping small businesses! They hide the good reviews to get the owner to pay and show the bad reviews when the owner doesnt pay!

The times we live in now are completely insane, but we still need furiture right? So, for those of you looking for that special chair, sofa, or simply wanting to totally revamp your entire home, put on a mask, some gloves and go visit Badcock Home Furniture & More located at 1720 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. In the Village Square shopping center in West Ashley. You can comfortably view and sample complete livingrooms, bedrooms, dens, kitchens, or just that perfect piece to make your room pop! The furniture and accents are of extremely high quality and very affordable for any budget. Everything is very classy and tastefully arranged. The staff, Mindy, Kevin, Daphne, and Sherry are all very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. They will answer all of your questions honestly and with a smile. I bought my husband a recliner for Christmas; he is now "one with the chair" and loves it! So, with all that said, put on your PPE Sunday best, take a slow ride over there, {traffic is good right now}, and see what they have to offer. You'll be glad you did! Take care, and stay safe. :)

Not who they seem to be
November 1, 2019

Use this app for the free features and send your reviews to Google. The ads are very expensive and bring in little profit. Also, out of 20 customer reviews Yelp only displays 4. I recently attended a business owners conference and it was unbelievable to hear from hundreds of business owners expressing that same frustration with reviews and return. This last month we paid Yelp $570 and basically only received a few inquiries and fewer actual jobs. It's mostly people fishing for prices, so they will contact you and several other companies and you have to pay for those inquiries. Also, the craziest part of it all is, we're paying over $500 a month for ads, naturally you would think Yelp would do everything that they can to make their customers happy. That is not the case. I was overcharged and after being transferred repeatedly and told that there was nothing that could be done, I was actually hung up on by a Yelp employee. Since I learned that you can't call and get help I submitted my complaint electronically and never heard from anyone in the company. In the end I learned that what's most important is Google when it comes to establishing your reputation and Facebook for online presence. (This is valuable info I learned from several business owners who have tried Yelp, Angie's List or Home Advisor.) I cancelled my ads and guess what Yelp did? They took down even more of my reviews. Wow! For any new company without a whole lot of experience please take this review serious. It's so sad to see people attempting to build there dreams be ripped off by huge companies with poor customer service. They are very nice during sign up and will promise you the world but beware. They do not play fair. They control everything on the platform to what type of calls you get to which reviews they believe are real (which is unbelievable being that they hang up on customers even when they are wrong). Just do you research because we have wasted a lot of money and to attend that conference and hear the complaints about Yelp is disheartening, I wish I could have attended sooner, I would have saved thousands of dollars.

Unauthorized charge
August 30, 2022

In May of 2022 we opened a yelp account & that same day we called & went on the app and canceled it. It turns out that a few days later I had to call to cancel it again because they never closed it. Fast forward 3 months later, August 29 I get charged $155. When I called I was informed that we had opened up a free trial & that it had expired & that we didn't cancel. I told her, Emily, that we had not opened up or renewed any membership. She kept saying that we did. So when I told her that our card number shouldn't have been on file since May, she said it was kept on there to give us a refund in May but they didn't remove it and refuse to remove it from their system. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she refused and said she's the one that can my the decision of giving me a refund for the $155 and that she wasn't going to because she kept claiming that we had reactivated our membership, which is a lie. People like Emily shouldn't be working customer service. Poor service and bad attitude. Yelp is basically stealing $155 from us. Why would I renew our membership if I canceled in the first place back in May? My wife also called and received the same bad service from Yudelka.

I am a solo attorney working very hard to establish my practice, and after a YEAR of non-stop work, I finally resolved a few matters and had a few VERY happy clients. I asked several of them to leave me a review on Yelp and I responded individually to each of their reviews as recommended. Yelp initially featured each of these 5 star reviews, then hid all 4! They were posted on different days by clearly different accounts. Each of the users had left reviews on other businesses, and some of them had DOZENS of reviews. Yet Yelp placed each of these reviews in the not recommended section, meaning that I have NO STAR RATING on yelp, even though I have 4 5-star reviews from clients. I am not some restaurant that gets dozens of customers a day. I run a law practice and it can take YEARS sometimes to get a satisfied client. I work EVERY DAY to ensure those clients remain happy.

The company also told me that I was signing up for an initial promotion that would charge me a max spend of $450 each month. Then after 3 or 4 months I noticed that I was being charged more than $600 per month.

Yelp is TRASH.

I am a one person Notary business who needed Yelp ads to get any traction for my business. I had received a concierge call with someone from Yelp who was not clear about how much I would be paying for ads. I told her I couldn't afford anything and she continued to sign me up for $30 a day plus more. I don't remember her telling me how much I would pay daily, but I do remember her giving me the impression of a $900 credit for ads that I actually never received. I ended up being charged $1000 over two months for ads that didn't amount to ANY business. I GOT NO CUSTOMERS for $1000. I requested a refund when I realized how much they were charging me and they refused. Yelp is a huge corporation taking advantage of small business owners like me. I can't afford this charge and its making my life so much harder. Yelp ads do not pay for themselves in the amount of business you will receive. They are deceptive with their community and are never straightforward about what you will be paying for. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR YELP ADS!

Matty Cattery is a Scam Breeder. They go as far as send a bill of sale. Contracts etc. They said the kitten Main Coon would be in transit and that's when the real scamming begins. Not only paid for a cat and a crate and starts lieing with the logistics. Carrier started asking for 1500. 00 for ins. Bam! Being a carrier myself for over 30 years and realized that they are a fake company and they are not legit. The logistics were all lies and incorrect and they said this was airfreight and I AM an airfreight and OTR carrier. When I called them out and asked them licensing and there MC#. They said the can send all that information later. Which should be on all documentation. They would not even give me corporate. Information. I contacted the breeder again whom they said they have been working for years. After constant questioning went silent. I have all proof of this issue to be real.
Visit Our Website... https://primecargoforstates.com/. This not a real carrier and so isn't the breeder Matty Cattery. They said they were based in VA. Liars and scammers. Beware!

After singing up for a "Free $300 in ads" promotion on February 6th, I was only interested in trying the advertising platform using the credit, not my own money. The sales person from Yelp reassured me my account would be cancelled before they charged my card, and that my card would only be used on file for the purpose of authenticating the account. I did wonder how legitimate this claim was, and was weary that my trail would actually be stopped once it hit $300, as very few trail programs offer this (in the attempt to catch you with charges at the end of the trail). So I monitored closely, and there was very little clicks happening. I continued to monitor daily, and watched pay-per-click until it was around $250. I was worried to go over the credit, as I didn't want my card to be charged, so cancelled before it hit $300. Cost of adventure should be $0 to me. Canceled. No bill. Credit card charge was received a month later with $120 for 'Biz. Yelp'. I immediately contacted customer service and was told on the phone to request a refund. My first request went unanswered for a few weeks. When I called back, they advised me there was nothing on file in terms of my refund request. It oddly was "never received" although I submitted it the day of my call to Yelp. It was then resubmitted (exactly the same process as before) and now they confirmed on the phone that it was received. When I finally received a response from their refunds team, it was an email basically telling me I was wrong and that there was no way I would be getting a refund on this charge of $120. That all of the clicks apparently happened in-between the time I requested to cancel, and when the account was actually cancelled. So $170 worth of clicks apparently happened in the span of 1-2 business days? Really? I even mentioned I didn't receive a single lead, which on it's own should be cause for refunding. But the disregard for my poor experience led me to believe that this is something of a 'scam' they catch new business owners with regularly. So I took to Google to research others with a similar experience, and sure enough I seen many recounting a story nearly exactly the same as mine.
