Yelp billed me $1,000 after getting my credit card info to redeem $300 free ad credit. I never made an Ad or uploaded a picture to the Ad, never wanted an Ad, and yelp also added an additional $120 a month service upgrade that I never agreed to. I only wanted to get listed on yelp and redeem the Ad credit. User Interface is purposely deceitful to trick business owners. Did not get any actual leads for the $1,000 and the unexpected bill has put me out of business
I noticed that the company was charging me in March still, so I decided to cancel all the products that were listed in "my products". No way to remove my card information on their platform, so I thought because I had no products to bill they wouldn't bill me--wrong. Noticed in my bank transactions Yelp decided to bill me again even when I have no products under them. I called customer service and Cody was of no help and told me to call on Monday. I told him on my dashboard it says they plan on billing me May 1st and he told me no they weren't because it didn't show up on his dashboard... but it's showing up on mine. Definitely a scam for those not paying attention to what they're being billed for, be careful!
Yelp sales people have chased me for a year, I reluctantly signed up becuase I thought at least I get one new client a month.(my reputation is great)
It didn't work for me. I canceled less than a month and had to pay $ 600.00 early termination fee. It is better than being under contract for a year paying $ 300.00 monthly. This is painful experience. Too expensive too.
After running a short ad campaign I quickly realised I was being charged over 50$ per click despite having a daily maximum budget of only 10$ and monthly 300$. The problem is the language. It says AVERAGE daily maximum budget. Meaning that if no one clicks the ad early in the month, in the last few days of the month yelp sees that the monthly maximum hasnt been met and "bids" on clicks with an absurd budget. This is a shady practice designed to maximize yelps revenue. I only charge 150$ a job on average and in no way would allow a 61.25$ click for each POTENTIAL customer. I wouldnt have thought such a big company would have such deceptive practices
Yelp be a fraud! The worst of the worst advertising sites for your business that you can have, you make a deal and they always charge you much more than the agreement.Google ads is the best of the best
I apparently clicked on a 2 month free trial in March of 2023, and then they began automatically billing me $150/month. When I discovered the pending $150 charge I reached out to the merchant number on my AMEX statement, and they couldn't have been less helpful. I insisted on immediate cancellation of my account and a refund, and the customer service person refused. When I asked to speak with her supervisor, she refused, saying that her supervisor would tell me he same thing.
I then immediately contacted AMEX to dispute the charge, and am in the process of filing a claim with my state's Attorney General's Office to make them aware of Yelp's unfair, deceptive and illegal business practices. Adding insult to injury, when I looked at my account's performance there was only one completely irrelevant inquiry from a college student. Sad to see an established name like Yelp defrauding small businesses. My recommendation is to stay as FAR AWAY from these folks as possible.
I was told I would have a bonus that was activated automatically with no risk if I cancel after certain amount of days. After I canceled I was billed over $200 dollars and was told I had a different type of bonus. Then another agent told me the bonus didn't cover the add on feature. The agents sound as if you can hear people in the background cheering. I am surprised that consumers trust this company to be honest about businesses on there system but they do not practice the same honestly system. The sales agent also told me she was positive I would not be charged by changing my credit card number in the system. She told me the calls are being recorded and she was not lying about the bonus and that I could cancel and not be charged.
The sales staff make promises that have nothing to do with reality. They even used me as a reference for another similar company saying what great success I was having with Yelp. Fortunately, the person actually called me personally and I was able to warn him that I hadn't received a SINGLE call or new client. I cancelled after only 3 weeks but still got charged over $300.00... for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I called them to complain and they basically said "tough luck". I hope this helps someone else!
This is so unbelievable! It was supposed to be free and then I started getting a phone call and I have asked to cancel my membership or anything related, nothing! I called more than 3x and waited on line for more than 1 hour. I emailed them and nothing again! I asked to get my money back, this is scam, don't ever believe anything on this platform! This is frustrating and disappointing.
I have zero faith in Yelp.com. Yelp.com is a huge fraud. The way they "weight" the reviews is one of the worst weighting systems I have even come into contact with.
The real reviews are far to often hidden as "not reccommended".
Really, who is yelp.com to declare if I want to see a review or not?
Yelp.com has overstepped its boundary.
Neither myself nor any of my friends visit the crappy site anymore.
Just use google.com reviews, they are much more accurate and are way easier to access as they are directly from your browser, you dont have to visit a crappy website like yelp or download a crappy app like yelp to view them.
Yelp is good for people searching new restaurants or services but not worth for business owners pay a penny on it! Paid hundreds of dollar and it shows the leads only based on the data they showed us. So I canceled the Ads and all page upgrades. After that I noticed my Yelp page had delivery bottom which connected to my restaurant Grubhub. I thought it was just a free bundle, so I didn't pay attention to it until I got my bill! There was a $60 monthly fee charge. They do this without informing us. Then I went to my bill and canceled my call to action service. When I clicked cancel, it shows I can get 2 months call to action for free. When I clicked to accept it, the next page kept loading as the picture I uploaded! Totally a scam!
When my car got damaged, the Mercedes dealership directed me to Stuttgart Autobody for the repairs. The service I got was first class. First of all, they worked so well with my insurance company without any need for my help. Second, the work they did on my car was above and beyond what I had expected. If you need to work on your Mercedes, Jaguar, Bentley, or Range Rover, Stuttgart Autobody is the best.
I'm getting sick and tired of companies like yelp getting away with scamming hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars from hard working people, I want to do something about it. I have a large audience on social media, political connections, along with connections in main stream media and news stations. I was recently deceived and scammed by yelp just like many of you and I think it's about time we put an end to their run. If you are willing to tell how yelp scammed you, through video, audio, or writing (preferably video because it's more compelling), I'm willing to organize yelps victims, create content and get it to the right people that could help us receive some form of justice. If you're interested, please email me at *******@gmail.com
I wish I would have seen this first. I trusted Yelp because who hasn't heard of Yelp? I get a call from a saleswoman, she sets everything up, tells me to go on the site and put in my debit card approving an ad campaign, and that the $300 is a bonus.
What I did not realize is that the spending budget of $450 is separate from the $300. So in all actuality I am supposedly getting $750 in ads.
0 calls, 0 sales, and 0 anything came from these ads.
Nothing about this helped my business and after spending hours on the phone with them I got nowhere (including 4 hang ups and dicsonnects while being on hold).
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!
I was talked to in a very unprofessional manner. My problem is with billing. I never knew about the $180 a month billing. When I asked to speak a supervisor Lin spoke to me rudely. When I asked to transfer he said no. When I called back to request a refund, I was denied. Yelp is scamming people out of lots of money. I plan to give bad reviews and contact other business reviews.
Doesn't get any worse than this. Stay away! Stay away from yelp for business they are ready to talk when they are getting over on you and will hang up on you when your trying to cancel dealings with them and get your money back. I filed bbb complaint
I signed up on Yelp for Business Owners. When I received a phone call from "Dakota" (not sure if the fake name was north or south) it was all the warning I needed. NO company the size of Yelp gives that kind of personalized service to ANYBODY unless they're out to drain their bank account. I didn't answer the call; I had a voice mail. From the time that call came in, I received 5 more spam calls on my cell phone (which is firmly implanted in the National Do Not Call Registry) and 26 spam emails in the space of 10 hours. Only after that call did I decide to start Googling and searching others' experience of this hardcore mafia, and we all know what I found... 1 star, 1 star, online mafia, don't go near them. Suspicion pays off; I did not lose ANY money with them, thank God. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, and adhering to that old adage saved me hundreds.
I wish I had seen these reviews before ever posting my business to Yelp. I also wish they hadn't won that class-action law suit. Yelp will not stop calling me, & they will not post my genuine positive reviews. This company disgusts me & I will impatiently wait for the day that someone takes them down... ugh.
My business is listed on yelp. What a mistake on my part for putting it there. My real customers come into my business and rave about how awesome it is and they do a rely review and give us 5 stars and describe their experience. The next day yelp removes it from their site. These are regular yelp users and real people. Yelp said they have a screening process that flags good review that are spicious. Bull. They flag every good review until you purchase their service. Hundreds of dollars a month. Waste of money and waste of time. New business owners Stay away from yelp!
Terrible experience, Don't ever get roped into doing business with them, Bluntly, they suck! Tried a 3 month term after high pressure sales. Was to be canceled automatically and was charge after that. I found no way to cancel my card on there site, and no way for me to cancel my account with all my info. I tried canceling by phone and them more high pressure sales. Dirty tactics by YELP robbers!
Answer: Good luck with that. You'll end up paying more for a lawyer than you'll ever save disputing the charges and they count on that. I got scammed hard by them. Just pay them off and chalk it up to a lesson learned. They always win. They lie to you. They lie to the debt collector and they're rich - so they can hold out longer than you can. Pay them off and walk away - poorer but wiser.
Answer: Block your credit card from this company and dispute any charges because you won't be able to contact anyone and request cancellation unless they call you. Even when they do call you and you cancel like I did, they will still keep charging you. They are a completely fraudulent company.
