Very Disappointed. Yelp allows Bad Reviews of a Business but will not post the many 5 Star Reviews. Yelp does not represent the true Customer Experience. It seems to be a Hoax to get you to Buy their Advertisement Campaign. So disheartening..
Yelp is a complet scam for businesses. They choose which reviews they want to post with no rhyme or reason. We have actual customers post reviews for our company only to have them taken down, and it always happens to be the good reviews. If the reviewer isn't someone who posts a lot of reviews, that review gets taken down which doesn't make any sense. Then they say if you pay them that they will help you get reviews and leads for your business. But then you get questions from obviously fake accounts and leads that have nothing to do with your business. Such a waste of money, do not buy into it!
Yelp is a scam company promising free page for a business but in reality trying to get you to advertise for money. When page is created and you don't join their payment plan, all customers reviews are becoming not displayable. They are pushing you for a payment and sometimes just plainly rude to you.
This company stole money from my account and even after I reported them and cancelled anything I had to do with them they still charged and kept charging me, I had to cancel my card and get a new one, on top of that I got no new customers from them and they only let bad reviews post and then you can't even defend your buisness! They are trash and a complete rip off! Do not give them any type of credit or debit card even for your free site cause they will charge over 490 dollars a month out of your account and leave you with no new clients! It's a scam
This was the worst that I have ever had. The guy that called me said that the ad would be a trial and that after 2 weeks it would stop unless I decided to keep it. I NEVER got any responses from the ad and was billed $485. If they call hang up the phone!
Yelp called me and offered $300 credit if I sign up my company with them and try them for a month. I specifically and multiple times asked them to ensure me that no charge will appear on my credit card whatsoever and we'll only use the $300 credit they offered.
They guaranteed that no charge will appear on my credit card.
Needless to say, there is a $142 charge on my card from Yelp, and when I asked them an explanation, they deny that they ever called me. I offered them my phone log from T-Mobile, which shows that they called me and we were on the line for 60 minutes, but they said that was not them.
Of course they would not refund the $142.
Yelp is a SCAM. I'm currently placing my complaint against yelp at FTC too.
If I could give this business zero stars out of 5, I would! I signed up for a $300 credit and when the credit expired I wasn't even giving a warning, I just noticed that my debit card was declined at the grocery store. I had just enough left to get by for that month and Yelp stole it from me. This is a disgusting low life company. I asked for a refund because it was only one day into the renewal and they declined. They stole my hard earned money! I hope they fail as a business, because this is unfair business practice!
Yelp for Business Owners Click Ads is a complete Scam. They get small businesses interested by giving them free ads and then when free ads run out they charge you for Ads per click. And you don't even get to see the ads. The Ads price per click changes, therefore you never know how much you are getting charged until they charge you, and there is no advance notice of the charge. A click in February may cost $3 but a click in June costs $54. Again a total scam!
I have been contacted by Yelp several times and told that they would help increase my business and I decided I would give it a try. I signed up my business and was told that I would only pay for the clicks that I received and at first it was looking ok, but on the last day of the month when they seen that they were only going to make a modest amount of money because I didn't have a large amount of clicks all of a sudden the last day of the month they show 21 clicks so they could make more money. My bill went from $83 for the month to over $223. Don't use this if you don't want to be ripped off.
Yelp somehow got a hold of my debit card information, maybe because they offered me a free promotion to do some ads. However, after the so-called promotion was over, they charged my debit card over and over. I did not authorize them to auto-bill me carte blanche, so I disputed the charges with the bank. How can they auto-bill you, without your consent or some kind of auto-billing agreement?
Even when I pay for a sandwich, I have to sign off. How can they charge hundreds of dollars without authorization? Learn the definition of ethics Yelp executives! Folks, do not provide them with your account information!
As a business owner, I always make it clear on paper or through DocuSign WHEN I will be charging my clients and FOR HOW MUCH, and get their authorization to make those charges by obtaining their signatures. Yelp's carte blanche charging without a potential customer's consent is a good case for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
We created an account on Yelp on 27th May 2023.
Yelp promised an upfront $300 credit on ad spend if we start advertising on Yelp ads
We were charged $109.21 within 13 days of starting the account.
This means Yelp should have exhausted the free credit of $300 and then charged us $109.21. The total cost of $409.21
Their ad report says my ad campaign received only 15 clicks at $210.96 from 27th May to 11th Jun 2023.
On what basis have they charged us $109.21?
Their customer success team is not responding.
I get so many fake leads. You can tell by the way they all respond the same way and they don't get u anywhere. Meanwhile they blow up ur phone so u can set a budget for their ads that will probably not get u anywhere either.
Don't fall for Yelps lying sales people! I was told I'd be charged a $15 per day maximum with up to 30 clicks per day and was charged for 29 days though I only had clicks on 10 days for a grand total of 19 clicks. The leads also seemed like they weren't real and several soliciting my for business. When I called Yelp and spoke to 3 different customer service reps, all couldn't help.
At this point, I hate yelp for business. First, they tell you you have credit only to find out you don't. You work with their wording so good that you think it's a credit but it's not. I am so upset. Customer service doesn't care and act like its a normal thing. I am beyond upset and this leaves a bad taste in my mouth because I just opened a business and the first thing I have to do is pay money that I don't have. I have a 700 dollar bill!. Shame on yelp
They offer you $300 of advertising with no way to remove your credit card, no way to cancel advertising, and they charge anywhere from $15-$40 per CLICK, not per contact or lead. Unable to remove my credit card or cancel ads, they continued to charge my card (which was deactivated) and have now sent a debt collector after me for service I never purchased. This is a scam company who's business model is built around deceptive practices.
I am a new business owner and can't believe the way they treat their business clients. You get fed that if you pay a certain amount each month on ads that you will start receiving leads. The leads that I was getting HAD NOTHING to do with my business. Tried to contact customer services to get this fixed they just told me there is nothing they can do. So I am paying 400+$ a month for no ROI? Come on. And on top of that they took ALL of my reviews from my page. Which cost me to loose trust in new clients (which made it harder to earn them back). Reason for this is because the AI they use picked up something that told it that the review was fake? Like how in the world does an AI decider on EACH reviewer? No one is on Yelp 24/7, or updates their address on their Yelp like that. So this is extremely unfair to business owners. I am never waisting another penny on them. I found out the hard way google ads, social media ads are *******x better at getting new clients.
I had an ad running and I see that if you don't spend the money that they want, they take the positive review down, they steal your money, fake leads, saying that needs your services and they customers never get back to you. When you call them, they say that is a Software that se if the reviews are fake or not, this is not true, because they took some review down and when I got one that was fake, they left in there and put 3 other back (5 stars), this way I looked okay, then the bad review the customer removed and yelp again, to the 5 stars review down again. I canceled my ad and now they are taking all my 5 stars down. They also charged me too much, they are a thieves. Don't spend your money there.
I just want to leave this review to warn other business owners that this company is a fraud and they are liars. Do not advertise with them, if they do it will cost them a lot of money to receive anything in return. Try it, try to remove your Yelp company, they won't be able to do it, or try to remove the credit card they have with them, they won't be able to do it either. They look like a sect, you're stuck.
Newest victim of Yelp's dishonest sales calls. I know of a few small business owners, all victims of Yelp, interested in a class action lawsuit. Please contact me if interested. I believe in the power of masses.
I was offered a promotion to start a free trial. I was walked through the process and told to register my bank card or credit card. I was assured that I would not be charged. I was denied the promotion 24 hours later and told by a sales Representative Kathleen that she will see what she can do and assured me that I would not be charged anything. My account was charged 260 which I did not authorize. I called yelp only to get the run around. For two weeks telling me they would call me back. I changed all banking info to make sure this would not happen again and somehow they accessed my information and got into my account which they now charged 360. My bank has opened a investigation but I have to wait up to 55 days. Big company scamming small business. Yelp left me in a horrible situation as I relied on my pay for my children and they stole it.
Answer: Good luck with that. You'll end up paying more for a lawyer than you'll ever save disputing the charges and they count on that. I got scammed hard by them. Just pay them off and chalk it up to a lesson learned. They always win. They lie to you. They lie to the debt collector and they're rich - so they can hold out longer than you can. Pay them off and walk away - poorer but wiser.
Answer: Block your credit card from this company and dispute any charges because you won't be able to contact anyone and request cancellation unless they call you. Even when they do call you and you cancel like I did, they will still keep charging you. They are a completely fraudulent company.
