I just got scammed the same as others. The complicated billing and payment scheduling should be unlawful. I'm glad I got out when I did. Since May 23rd, 2022 my start date to July 6,2022 I suffered a loss of $866.68. Not what I agreed to, not my understanding of our agreement. I agreed to pay $150 per month for 3 months as a trial. There was some upgrade trick, where right now today they are offering $300.00 in this credit in the price per click category, which you never get. SCAM SCAM SCAM. Sorry for the bad grammar, run on sentences and lack of appropriate punctuation. But I think you get it.
I'm not usually one to fall for scams but the representative on the phone seemed kind and offered a $300 account credit to run ads for one week.
After one week trial, he did not call me back and the advertising was not effective at all. Waste of money. I even emailed him with no follow up.
I called Yelp because I couldn't delete my credit card from their website and they informed me that I owe almost $200 for 4 phone calls in 1 week... what on earth.
Never have I ever dealt with such lack of empathy, scammy behaviour. If you've been offered something from Yelp, SAY NO and save yourself the debt and headache. Absolutely horrible experience.
Not worth the time or money! Add clicks pricing fluctuate! Gone from $1.63 a click to 2.76 over night! Wtf! They didn't tell me it would fluctuate til I cancelled my contract and now I have to pay a $650 early termination fee which in the end is better than fulfilling the rest of the 7 months that are left. I pay $ 375 a month on clicks. I had this service since January and received one customer and I received calls about services I do not do, which wasted my clicks! I am a new business owner. It is best if you already have a good reputation with loyal clients to get this but not for brand new owners. You'll be wasting alot of money..
Seems like a good deal up front. You get a lot of free ads, promises of sending traffic to your business, etc. Started in August. September bill was $0 (due to freebies). October was $207, not bad if you are getting results, seeing a return on the investment, but I couldn't tell yet. November bill was $450. Over the time it reports that I had 81 page visits. That ends up being over $8 per website visit. It really gave little results and when the promotional period was done, the price skyrocketed.
I suppose if you could use the free ads and cancel before getting dinged with the high fees, it would be effective, but that's a lot of work AND if you miss the deadline, the cost is great. Working now to get refunded one day after the large charge. I'll see how good their customer service is.
I will never use this website again. First, they don't post reviews from clients that are not avid yelp reviewers. That in itself is a scam. Second, my ads kept attracting consumers who were interested in Botox. I don't provide Botox services. All of my ad leads were looking for Botox. I removed Botox from my categories and still got these. Third, their customer success managers suck. It takes 30 minu to gthrough to themery. Single. Time. Their customer success manager ignores emails and they lied about how much they would refund me. They are a major sham. Their business has lost credibility and no one uses their website anymore.
Salesperson called me to offer $900 on credits. Did not tell me how much I would be charged. Had my put in credit card and said the first two months would be free and third month $150. Lo and behold they are putting all my reviews on not recommended, getting no leads, not working. So i call and they try to sell me more and say I'm currently on a $900/month plan and with the $900 credit it will be $600+/per month. Wtf I would have NEVER signed up for that. I'm a brand new business $600 is a whole week of profit for me and I am busting my butt to earn that. I called my bank and my banker said "you have an LLC come to the bank and cancel that debit and get a new one, they won't be able to do an automatic withdrawal. When they send the bill bring it to me." Lucky for me my banker also hates scammers.
Okay okay, desperate for extra business so I figured I'd place my business in the yelp business section. Got a call and then the person hung up. I called back and was then transferred to a salesperson who set me up with an ad free page and a tier position that was suppose to bring me business over a course of 7 days. No business, No calls, No nothing but 17 days and a waste of $165. I also had Google trying their hand at it, trying to set me up in their goggle search listings. Its all a scam. Get your page but don't waste your money. Its a scam!
Their salespersons were terrible and pushy. I received their call and the lady, Taylor Bronsink tried hard to convince me to purchase their ad services by walking me through some articles online. She said I could get CAD150 credit to try it out and the offer was limited. I set the monthly budget for CAD 300. And eventually, three weeks later, I was asked to pay for nearly USD 400 for the ad which only generated 8 clicks to my website. I was shocked. Aside the $300 advertising fee, there were some fixed costs, like removing competitors' ads and business highlights which I didn't sign up for. I have tried to contact them and they just said it's all my fault.
I thought i was running an ad that was going to be $50 per month, turned out to be $500 and the ad sucked! No traffic at all, and the customer service afterword was completely worthless when i told them i didnt expect such a big charge. Don't even think about advertising with them unless you own a restaurant (which in my opinion is the only type of business people really use yelp for) and even then i would be hesitant because they are scumbags.
I have gone in circles with them trying to get my money back from the run over of the ads credit. $140 and it would have been more if I didn't check my account. They refuse to refund saying its our error. I spoke with Denae in costumer service and she basically blamed me for not keeping up on the account-- even though I expressed I didn't have any warning or notification they would start charging my card. There's nowhere to review on yelp so I found this platform. Hopefully business owners see this before falling for the "free ads" scam!
I was giving $150.00 in free pay per clicks but in order to use that I needed to create an Acct and attached my credit card. So I did and I set my maximum budget at $5 per day max after only the first 30 days I'm charged $450.00 and I'm told the free $150.00 is ONLY after I spend my first month which is totally deceiving and out of that $450.00 they were charging me an extra $150.00 per month which was extra services they said I added which I had no clue of. Shame on the CEO of yelp allowing this to happen when there company was built of customer service and having happy customers which they could care less of me and told me there's nothing they can do and it's fine I'm never gonna use there services again.
Jordyn Block Called me on the 28th of July, sold me one thing and yelp charged me something else. I am completely shocked at how a company with so much notoriety could be so blatantly deceiving. She told me she was going to call me back, never did. I sent two email complaints and was never contacted only charged more later.
In total, I paid $258.80 for 10 days of service! That's after receiving a "$150 credit" that was never applied.
I hate Yelp. They force businesses to advertise on their sites. After I stopped advertising on Yelp now all my reviews 100% getting filtered out. I hope Yelp go bankrupt. We should just ignore the Yelp.
They hook you with a free trial and when you phone to verbally cancel - you get billed anyway. I tried to dispute it as they had on record my previous phone call but refused to reverse the charges when it popped up on my credit card. I had to contact my bank to get the charges reversed.
Extremely slimy operation.
Do not fall for the promotional campaign! They hook you with free ad dollars and then charge you monthly and you pay way more than you ever would with other companies. They don't try to help you when you contact them. They say we send you an email that is black and white! Really then why are their so many complaints of people who feel deceived. It think it is pretty gray! I was just at a conference this week and the speaker literally said "Don't advertise with Yelp"! Wish I would have known that before. I thought you set a budget and the click rate would be something reasonable. I didn't realize they were billing me monthly. Because it was going through my paypal I didn't see it. It cost me $1800. 00. It is ironic that this company is in the business of reviews and they have such bad ones. I should have looked up reviews first. I got suckered. I emailed the person who is hoping to band people together to stop others. I urge you to email them *******@gmail.com.
Non responsive if you aren't paying for or cancel paid advertising. Charging for "calls" based on paid advertising when NO calls were received. Every single viable customer review in "non recommended" after canceling ad. The absolute worst way to go for any new business. Unethical and non responsive.
Happened to me, they claimed I signed up for $450 a month! I don't even earn that much a month in the business! I was supposed to have a 90 day trial and they charged a "pro-rated" amount 60 days later to the tune of almost $350 (which doesn't even mathematically compute). No invoice, no notification that my credit time was up (it wasn't). I am currently in the hospital taking care of my mom who has cancer and couldn't get a response from anyone. I disputed the charge. I don't know what else to do and don't have time or money to deal with this!
Also, got no leads or clients. At least if I did, that would have been something.
They charged me without permission for an ad and I cannot delet the ad. They had called me and said there is fee for this registration, but now I see I have been charged. Even does not let me to get screenshot. Not effective as well
Infinity Building Contractors, Inc
DBA Chicago Fireplace, Inc.
December of 2018 I had a drop-in damper installed on the chimney of our gas fireplace. The install was by Larry at Chicago Fireplace. This fall when we tried to use the fireplace we could not get the damper to release and created gas fumes in our home.
I have called six consecutive days to have them inspect and repair their installation.
For six days I could only leave a message and for six days I have not received a call back to set an appointment. This is terrible service and would strongly recommend to anyone not use this company.
Very Disappointed. Yelp allows Bad Reviews of a Business but will not post the many 5 Star Reviews. Yelp does not represent the true Customer Experience. It seems to be a Hoax to get you to Buy their Advertisement Campaign. So disheartening..
Answer: Good luck with that. You'll end up paying more for a lawyer than you'll ever save disputing the charges and they count on that. I got scammed hard by them. Just pay them off and chalk it up to a lesson learned. They always win. They lie to you. They lie to the debt collector and they're rich - so they can hold out longer than you can. Pay them off and walk away - poorer but wiser.
Answer: Block your credit card from this company and dispute any charges because you won't be able to contact anyone and request cancellation unless they call you. Even when they do call you and you cancel like I did, they will still keep charging you. They are a completely fraudulent company.
