My biz averages 1000 views on Google each month and 4 on Yelp. People don't use it. They scam business owners out of money trying to get them to advertise. Also, this dude Spencer calls us 2-3x/week every single week trying to get us to advertise with them. We have his calls blocked but he keeps trying to bug us constantly. Take the hint Spence - your company sucks and you are way too pushy. Also, many customers have left me 5 star reviews on Yelp and yelp won't publish any of them. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. Also, they send FAKE requests to make it seem like people actually use them. I respond immediately to quote requests from potential customers and never have received a single response back from the "customer". Facebook advertising works the same way. Many scammers out there. My business keeps growing just with my Google free business listing. Stick with Google.

I tried reaching out to the Rep that helped set up the ads, and he completely ghosted me. I brought to their attention that I wasn't informed the extent of what I would be charged and was told to file a dispute. All they said was oh well. I provided screen shots of what my understanding of obligation should of been and they took me for $570. What a crock, business owners beware. Get a confirmation email of what they are signing you up for because Yelp will rob you blind. You can't delete a card once on file without adding a new card. Such bull$#*!, thanks for nothing Yelp.

I got fooled into their package deal, after 3 months and paying nearly 2000... 525 a month I received maybe 3 positive leads. I also got fooled into the year contract so this will b a process but I hope this helps the next person starting a business not to make this move.

Yelp stole my money
March 6, 2019

The salesman was nice. The advertising didn't generate new business. When it was coming up on billing, I wrote and asked for payment arrangements and to suspend my campaign for now. You can't suspend a campaign yourself; you can only cancel it. So when I was waiting for them to get back to me, without contacting me they drained my bank account for the full amount. My car payment, insurance, and other bills are going to be debited from an account with $8 in it. When I called, the b!+[# told me that it's too bad, I owed the money and tough crap for me. I explained that I was trying to make payment arrangements, not trying to get out of paying. She laughed arrogantly, refused to let me talk to her supervisor or anyone else, laughing about it, and hung up on me! BEWARE! They are ripoff experts!

Please don't use Yelp for Business. They tell you that the service is free, then charge you for nothing and refuse to refund you for the nothing that they charged you without permission.

Can I gave a zero star? They have taken my money and did not fulfil their promises and when i called about it, they wouldn't listen. They only spoke over me and hung up. The owner needs to set an example of morals and respect and teach it to the workers. I am concerned it may be coming down from the top.

I spent an hour on the phone with a salesperson after receiving an e-mail offering a $300 free ad credit.
I was interested in the offer and made sure to clarify several times in person on the phone that there would be no fees. I was reassured that I would not pay, unless I wished to keep the ad service after the credit was used.

TWO DAYS in, I accumulated a $74.00 bill. I immediately ceased the advertising account and inquired about the fee. I was referred to the small print that was sent in a gigantic document AFTER signing up for the service. (note, I did not sign a contract or agree to this bull$#*!).

Super shady. Super misleading. Absolute scam.

Not to mention that had I not caught the accumulating bill, I would have owed over $1000 at month end for $#*! advertising service.

JUST DON'T.

Venture Weight loss
August 2, 2020

I just started going to Venture Weight loss in Coldsprings Ky. The doctor was very knowledgeable about weight loss to a science. He could tell me how many calorie, carbs I should have daily and amount of exercise I need per week to loss about 1 lb a week. I feel excited that I have plan to tackle my weight and a place where they are kind, compassionate and ready to work along side me on my journey to a healthier person!

I had $153 taken from my account after only having the page for 4 days. I was told I would have $900 in credit before I was charged. I did not receive a proper bill, notification or explanation of what I consumed. The sales rep was a pushy and made big offers that did not end up on my account. I have been trying to get my money back but service is a sham. I was emailed a form and told to wait 7-10 for their reasponse. I have been calling and a vortex of waiting and forms. I cant with them anymore, which is what their service is, wear them down until they go away. But boy, they stalk you until they can speak to you and sell you lies. I will not ever use them as a consumer to search for businesses and leave reviews. I will remove the app. And continue to share my horror story at their blatant theft.

We took our car in to Michael Hohl Chevy in Carson City today to have the airbag replace we were told this would take about an hour. It took over four hours, and while it is understandable that there might be a delay, it is not understandable how rude, Nasty and unhelpful the service staff was. We will never take our vehicle there again

I also specifically told them I was willing to try for 10 days. At no point did the salesperson tell me it was my responsibility to stop the campaign. After 30 days I see I am still getting referrals and call to find out I am indebted to them for over $376. I try calling and emailing, did not get any response. Eventually they did send me an email I did not see and refused any refund because in the terms and conditions it stated it was my responsibility to stop the advertising.
Stay away from Yelp business and only use it with buyer beware.

Scam
June 16, 2019

I am sad to see the number of people scammed by Yelp. I was told I had $300 in free ads. Every time I looked at my account on their app, it said I still had some available. They charged my bank account over $443.

STAY AWAY PLEASE!
April 23, 2021

Their sales reps mislead business owners. I signed up with Yelp about 6 weeks ago on their "$300 Special" for business owners on a "$20 per click" basis. I have never received any actual calls or got only calls and messages I was getting was from different area code and a scam. I got manipulated and taken advantage of. I DO NOT recommend Yelp for any business owners to run ads with them. When I signed up with Yelp, I was hopeful, but they turned out to be a big disappointment. The way they communicate their promotion is unethical, deceitful, and is Fraudulent. I did not find out that I got scammed until they already collected payment from my credit card and contacted them.

Disappointed
October 11, 2021

Yelp for business owner rides on the owners purchasing their ads. Leads and products. I have a established client base and 2 of my customers give great reviews (didn't pay them, wasn't false) however Yelp pulled the review for non recommendation simple because I didn't use their leads which they push really hard icalling you daily. Yelp business practices are misleading and untrustworthy business owners read their reviews before purchasing their products.

I started an ad campaign 2 weeks ago. It cost over 11.00 per click and I received 28 clicks... over 300.00! Not One CAll but loads of emails asking questions about service... many were from foreign names. The time/date stamps of these messages did not coincide with the list of contacts on their dashboard. Just this morning I received 4 contacts within 10 minutes but no responses or dialogue ever occurs after their first question. All of my customer through OTHER companies either call or continue dialogue and 0ver 50% result in a sale. In 2 weeks Ive responded to 20+ emails within 20 minutes of initial contact but they NEVER replay back. I think I just got Catfished. And It would have cost me a pretty penny if I wasnt taking advantage of that free 300 credit. Maybe it was all to bait me into continuing service after that credit was gone. I'll Pass Yelp.

Stay away from yelp. I agreed to dollar certain $ amount to test yelp out and see if I would get any leads. To my surprise I was getting billed $600 a month much more than I agreed to. 7 months later they say I have had 378 page visits and 21 leads. I may have had 2 actual leads. Trying to call support to cancel was rediculous, I am busy so when tried to call billing, I spent over 2 hrs on the phone to contact billing before I was able to reach anyone. Cold calling and door nocking is much better

Just Got off the phone after being billed $550 for a "Click Campaign," I had set up a $250 limit, and they apologized if the "was any confusion." The lady was a real smooth talker and this will be the last time Yelp gets a cent from me. Ever. Deliberate misleading information, and over selling my limit of $250 by double. If I hadn't checked it, it would have gone on forever! No apologies, because this is a daily scam for thm. There was talk of a $300 coupon, but that's only if you purchase MORE. I got two phone calls that went nowhere - something another reviewer mentioned. Part of the scam. A vague inquiry, generic and no reply.

Stay far away from Yelp.

I just got scammed the same as others. The complicated billing and payment scheduling should be unlawful. I'm glad I got out when I did. Since May 23rd, 2022 my start date to July 6,2022 I suffered a loss of $866.68. Not what I agreed to, not my understanding of our agreement. I agreed to pay $150 per month for 3 months as a trial. There was some upgrade trick, where right now today they are offering $300.00 in this credit in the price per click category, which you never get. SCAM SCAM SCAM. Sorry for the bad grammar, run on sentences and lack of appropriate punctuation. But I think you get it.
