Why would ANYONE waste their money paying for bids, especially at $0.75 per bid, when you can bid on most other auction sites for FREE! This site says SCAM from the very beginning, especially with the timer ADDING time near the end.
Well, I was tricked into this scam! They have a bot that randomly posts at 3 seconds maximum after you post. Complete scam. Needs to be reported to the BBB. I was bidding for a 46" TV and a bot name SureThing kept bidding after anybody bidded at a random bidding pace at 3 seconds maximum. This site is a FRAUD!
Hey, guys! Do NOT waste your money on any of these auction sites which don't have the Buy-It-Now option. This options allows a bidder to purchase the product they had bid on for the RETAIL PRICE stated on the auction MINUS the $$ spent on your bids! Bid Cactus does NOT offer that so only ONE bidder can leave without feeling scammed! Neither does Bidfire.com... Two that DO are Bidazzled (which also raises money for a charity, so the bids cost more) and Quibids.com
RUN! This is one of the BIGGEST RIP-OFFS yet! No where else do you have to buy your bids and are then charged for each bid you make all the while each bid increases the time available to bid on an item. Just one more way to steal from the ever increasing indigent American people.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!
And I urge any and all of you out there unfortunate enough to have landed on this site and lost money to wipe them off the internet. Enough is enough!
It may sound like a good thing in the beginning, but once you start playing you will find it is not very easy to win and you can very quickly burn up a lot of money. Basically the same as gambling.
So I fell for the Craigslist thing too, and got routed through several emails to the same message: "Hello Someone just purchased, but I can tell you where I got it from." Any danger if I haven't bid on the site?

Hey A guy just bought this from me, but I can tell you where I got it from.
I just got 4 of these from here pennybcactus.com and I resold them for some extra money.
The trick is to watch for bidding to slow down and then jump in. That's what I do and I win all the time.
All the best

I hope you guys all know that this site, bidcactus, is affiliated with Jumbocloseouts.com, which is another penny auction site that scammed a lot of people out of their money. They are currently in the process of being shut down., yay! Read all the scam reviews on jumbocloseouts.com and see all the similarities that bidcactus.com has in common. YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WARNED, SO STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE OR YOU WILL GET BURNED!
Same as everyone who reviewed here: that Katy...
Before I decided to join, I paused and searched online, and found a lot of users had encountered the same scenario. Glad that I searched first and thanks to SITEJABBER!
HELLO. I would like to add to this topic. I spent the last 5 nights watching this site. My roommate and I kept a log of the users and their bids, at least we tried to keep up. We did not bid, so this is a unbias review.
** 1 bid equals 1 cent. So. 75 to 1.33 per bid **
First off, We noticed the same users on about every other night. Which could mean they are severally addicted and probably eat dinner in front of the computer or they are secret bidding spys (sbs's) sent out by Bidcactus to swindle your hard earned cash, although the highest count bidders never really won.
This happened very often: Once a high count bidder stopped bidding a new high count bidder appeared and started to bid. By high count bidder I mean 200+ bids in one hour or less. Respectively, they spend no less than $150 to $266 and hour. They often bid on any items that were counting down the last seconds. So they bid on numerous items at once.
Our highest log was 245 bids from 1 user. This same user bid 45 times on a $50 Gas Card. Inconceivable or Unjust!?
As a side note: we also added up the total bids and compared them to the products. A $75 Gift card ended at $7.01 so this gift card sold for roughly $535 to $932 (for those who don't know 1 penny equals one bid and one bid could equal. 75 to $1.33) We are currently watching a digital camera worth $299 at $16.99... so its selling for about $1278-2259 and still counting.
I had been looking into this site for quite some time now! I finally decided to try it out. I purchased a small amount of bids to start with. A total of 30 bids for 22.50. Its not a lot of money thank God! I thought that if I could get a bargain deal like maybe a $50 gift card, I had made my money back... I placed several bit before the clock ended on several item, but I mist the small detail that if someone bids on that same item the clock will move back 30 sec or 3minute witch really kills you. Because the clock never ends... This is a really shady trick because it not really a fair deal. You can spend all day and more money biding on the same item, and you will end up spending more money then the item is really worth in most cases. If you've ever bid id on Ebay the difference is that the clock on Ebay never goes back and the bidding come down to who is the fasted to submit the last bid. I will never use this site again and I don't recommend it. I am a little disappointed that I wasted 22.50 on this site. When I could have just gone out and bought my self a good lunch...
Same response as quoted by many..."Hi Someone just bought this from me, but I can tell you where I got it from. I just got 4 of these from here..."
Stay away, very far away...
I tried to buy a refrigerator from Craigslist, the seller emailed me and said it has been sold, but that I could buy a similar item for cheaper at bidcactus. I'm so glad i reviewed the rating and wasn"t scamed. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!
Whoever is going to read this!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write about them! I was just about to buy bids and I lost the website by mistake so a google search found it for me and the next few links under showed these reviews I am so happy I didn't buy any bids.
THANK YOU! ------>
FOR EVERYONE WHO GOT SCAMMED BY "BIDCACTUS.COM" GO TO THE "BBB" WEBSITE AND FILE AN ONLINE COMPLAINT, RIGHT NOW THE SCORE THEY HAVE WITH "BBB" IS AN A- LETS CHANGE THAT!
Better Business Bureau
Complete rip off. The people on youtube work for them, the people on here making positive comments work for them and the people driving up the bids work for them.
Worst site ever.
This website and the people from it are inspired by Bernard maddooof. I am so lucky and happy that I did my research before signing up. My friends stay away... it s a sheme
I have seen the many reviews i feel sorry for the people that lost there money and minds. The BBB reports 65 complaints on this, LLC which means limit liability, so beware when it is dealing with money this should be incorporated, BBB also reports that they have not resolved any of the complaints,, The economy is terrible and this company was created on 4/27/2009@ the start of the economic breakdown, they have to make it look good and make someone win to get your attention, With dealing with people on a everyday basis, and even talked to people who have been scammed by Business like this, It makes me go insane that they are getting away with highway robbery, And if the owners are reading this you might want to check out your business status@ the State of Delaware, It is public information
I was just reading the reviews to this site and was quite surpised to see someone below refer to my user name. I have been a regular on Bidcactus for several months now and can assure you that this is no scam. Of course you're going to lose some money at first- there is a learning curve to most everything. I have won a good many items and have gotten them in a timely manner, but also have issues about the shipping charges. They will charge over $5 for shipping on each giftcard won, then ship several in the same folder. I've gotten 8 in one folder before, so that means that they got to keep the shipping charges for the other seven- around $40.00! Another thing to remember is to be careful when you recomend this site to another person. Make sure that they understand to not make their username similar to yours. My son and daughter saw how much fun I was having with this and signed themselves up with very similar usernames. Evidently Bidcactus doesn't censor names when they're first submitted, which I find very unprofessional, but will come back later demanding changes. Having to change your username could put you at a disadvantage if you're already established.
I am a current Bid Cactus user and would like to let everyone out there know that if you watch and bid wisely and timely you can get some great deals. I have been using this site for over a month and yes I have lost some money (but you will always lose money when gambling this is not just an auction site it is a gambing site as well) but I have gotten some great deals also. In the 45 to 60 days that I have been bidding I have won many, many gift cards. There have been a couple of times that I didn't receive all the cards that I had won and I had to call their customer service. They have always made good and corrected the problem in a very timely matter. If you don't like the site don't use it, But when you do remember it isn't just bidding on an auction it is also gambling, so be prepared to lose money as well as win great cards and items.
The only draw back I find is the shipping cost, Bid Cactus lower your shipping cost and this site will go far. Excellent site, I have referred alot of friends and family to your site and they all love it. Keep up the good work.
Stay away from bidcactus. They are crooks, scams, and will take your money and you will get nothing. Ppl need to be protected from cons like them. Bidcactus is a huge scam. Stay away! Overwhelming odds are you will lose your money and get zero in return, let alone win anything. I really think this is online gambling in disguise and that any postive posts is their staff or friends. They go to great lengths to give themselves the appearance of legitimacy. Its a scam. On the web, you can't get any info on the owners of the firm - not surprising. Stay away from bidcactus- you wil lose your money, and not get it back, You will speak with a rude customer service person who will explain how you missed something in the fine print, and its your fault and you're stupid. FYI, There is a class action suit against them in Connecticut. Go look it up "mendelsohn vs. bidcactus", filed by motley rice. Dont let bidcactus con you, take your money, and get you to become a gambler. This is a gambling website - no similarity to ebay- and the odds are stacked against you. Don't be fooled by their fake reviews - and they encourage, incentivize/ reward their gamblers, i mean customers- to promote them, and lure in more victims. Keep your money- if it looks too good to be true- it is.
Answer: I am so very grateful that before I sumitted by credit card for final payment to purchase 25 bids on Bidcactus.com that I had to be someplace and was running late. While driving home I thought that perhaps I was missing something because it seemed too easy. I had watched BidCactus for two days and was dying to join and bid. I held back and decided to google bidcactus reviews and found a ton of negative information that convinces me this is a scam and in between I found only a few posters who had as they put it "figured out the game" More power to them. I literally check on line shops, auctions scams etc and cannot believe I almost joined. Thank you everyone for taking the time to post. I am also surprised at the dates of the beginning of these reviews--I find it hard to believer that MyPoints is still involved and that BidCactus is still doing business. I am out of there.
BidCactus has a rating of 1.4 stars from 193 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with BidCactus most frequently mention extra money, gift card and penny auctions. BidCactus ranks 112th among Penny Auction sites.
