Bear River Mutual

I've never seen so many positive 5 star ratings as I have for Bear River Mutual Insurance. There's a reason for that people. Get a clue. These folks have never had to make a claim with Bear River! Wait till it happens and see the ratings change. I was drawn in by the bundled insurance quote for my home and vehicles. I was saving nearly $1,000 a year with BR over my previous insurance carrier. Wow! But wait! Septic tank line broke backing raw sewage into my basement. Called my agent and a day or two later some guys showed up and in five hours time demolished our basement and never returned. I was told that BR was not responsible for repairs that I would have to make those arrangements. I got quotes for drywall repair, painting, carpet replacement, and flooring replacement and submitted to the adjuster. That was a joke. The carpet in the basement was 13 years old. They sent a sample off to an independent company called Itel for analysis and said the carpet was $20 a square yard and that's all they would pay. That was the price 13 years ago. The same carpet today(2019)is $32 a square yard. My quotes for my basement to be put back together came to over $15,000. The gave me $8,600 and argued with me over that. The insurance adjuster(Jessica)acted as if the money was coming out of her own pocket. Nothing but attitude and argument from her. As for my agent(Lynn), never heard from him once. So folks, the saying is true, "You get what you pay for!" As for me, I'm going Insurance shopping. Bear River gets their premium payments every month like clock work through automatic deduction from my bank account. They never have to wait for their money, but wait till it's "make a claim" time and see how it goes. Bear River is the worst, non-caring insurance company I've ever had the stupidity to get involved with. The folks you would count on the most to help when needed,(Agent and Adjuster) just didn't care. Bear River is "The Bears Bum!"
