Facebook execs and a new CEO took a heritage US brand abd turned it into a Chinese-made junk 'surf' brand w/awful customer service and terrible quality. Items falling apart, sizing totally unpredictable, possibly the worst customer service I've ever experienced. So sad what they did to this brand over the last few years…
Birdwell's board shorts are the best anywhere. Any real surfer will tell you. Just ask. They're comfortable and they never wear out. I've had mine for 10 years and love them. Will only buy new ones because my GF wants me to wear something different once in a while.
These guys have no clue how to save the consumer money when shipping or they are upping their price of shipping so they can fill their pockets a little more
33.00 dollars to ship a t-shirt to Toronto wow
However, the shirts are a size smaller than average. Typically, I buy a large shirt but with birdwell I purchase an extra-large. However, I love the unique collars and their designs. I also love their board shorts but sadly they no longer make custom board shorts. That's about the only thing that sucks.
I bought the small shorts, I have a 31 inch waist. Too small, the button fly takes quite a while to fasten and unfasten. Sent them back and got a refund. Liked the style so much I decided to order the mediums. The Velcro on the sides only attached with about an eight of an inch of contact. The tabs pulled off with minimal movement. Probably would be ok if they weren't so cheap that they couldn't add an inch of Velcro. Do not buy, you will probably be disappointed. They need Evelyn back. Bird well walking shorts suck. They should stick to board shorts.
I have been wearing Birdwell Boardshorts since the 1960's and really like the product. But the
People operating the company seem to be typical of the California Airhead mentality. I bought a new
Pair of Board Shorts in June, but got the wrong size, and had a hard time returning them through
There third party return company, and than waited two months for my refund. Last week they ran
A 30% off price of the same product, so I thought I would try one more time. However, when I
Went to pay, the shipping price went from the $7.50 I paid in June to $15.00, meaning that the 30% discount was really only a 15% discount. When I got an email from them that I had not completed
My order, I advised them of the above, and after a few days I received a token reply that they are
Looking into the situation, but never offered to reduce the shipping.
I have been wearing Birdwells ever since I was a little kid back in the late 1970s. Not a huge fan of the new button fly though, I personally prefer the Velcro like the old ones had. Best of all Birdwells are made right here in the USA, not in some Asian sweatshop like most other brands are these days.
