Got my mom an iPhone X for half what a new one would cost. Not a single scratch or scuff. 1 week in use the phone works just as well as mine did brand new. Backmarket kept in contact from the moment I ordered until it was delivered (which took less than 3 days and said it'd take 5) needless to say I will absolutely go here for all my phones from here on.
I've had three transactions through Back Market. The first, an iPhone 10, went without a hitch (as advertised, great condition, good deal). Recently, however, I tried to purchase a MacBook Air for school for my daughter. It was listed with an i7 processor and 8gb RAM. Only after admiring its very nice condition and setting it up completely did I check and realize it was an inferior i5 4gb machine! OK, I'll return it and get a replacement. None that matches those specs available. Then wrong shipping label sent to me (discovered at USPS counter, where I'm told insufficient postage AND incorrect address), then a second trip out, this time to FedEx. Then h e to order less-than-ideal replacement in only good condition from different seller also on Back Market because that's all there is ("here's 5% off for the hassle," says Back Market…ugh, thanks? That's $17, people), which arrives and—guess what?—SAME freaking problem! Go through it all over again. And school starts. No laptop, just LOTS of frustration and time wasted. Can I speak to a supervisor? Supervisors have been "informed." No access to them for me. Clearly a problem with Back Market's listing interface, but they don't want to hear from me.
Caveat emptor! You may get lucky with your seller on this platform and not need the help of Back Market's customer service (which you pay $1.99 for per transaction, btw)…but if something goes wrong, they send you lots of cheery emails but do PRECIOUS LITTLE to remedy your problem or make it right. It's up to you to spend your time fixing it. Be ready for frustration!
Since my first purchase about a year ago (a Late-2013 Macbook pro in GOOD condition that arrived in PRISTINE condition (shown in 1 picture)), it has been nothing but love and shameless promotion to friends. Backmarket has now provided me w/ 2 incredibly refurbished laptops (the second, a 2017 macbook pro, shown in a second picture) for insane deals, and I cannot speak enough to their value, commitment to customers, and consistency. Love them and everything they stand for!
I bought a refurbished iPhone 7 Plus and it is awesome. Looks and functions like brand new! Was shipped quickly and securely. I will never buy a new phone again when I can get such a great deal at Back Market!
Buyer beware!
I bought an IPhone 11 from Back Market a couple months ago. The product took over 2 weeks to be delivered. When I unboxed it the screen had several large deep scratches on it. The item description on Back Markets website stated "no visible scratches or damage to screen."
I filed a complaint with their customer service that they brag about non-stop while you are using the Back Market website. Nothing has come of it, they have my money and could care less about after sale service.
I guess the moral of this story is that you should be aware you are buying 2nd hand goods off this website. You are basically rolling the dice on what the condition of the item actually is. These are all independent sellers and Back Market has no form of quality control. They try to ease your mind by promoting customer service, but in the end their customer service department is just a computer sending you generic messages that lead nowhere
Hello there Rob,
Thanks for reaching out to the Back Market Customer Care team on Sitejabber. I hope all is well and am sorry to hear that there was a delay with FedEx when delivering your iPhone 11.
For what it's worth, February was quite possibly the worst we've seen ever seen in terms of performance with the three major shipping carriers. Without getting too much into the details, many customers had orders with delayed deliveries on the shipping carrier side. Please note that we require all sellers on Back Market to ship orders within 24 business hours. Otherwise, they are penalized for not honoring Back Market's quality standards for our customers.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you, just let me know. I'm always happy to help.
Wishing you all the best, Rob, and take care.
Regards,
Dominick from Back Market
Excellent used iMac but low quality, aftermarket keyboard and mouse with click wheel. The iMac is in excellent condition and runs perfectly. However, the aftermarket keyboard and mouse are made of low quality white plastic and requires AAA batteries which cost more to run than AA batteries. Also, did not receive my 5% discount after having to cancel previous orders which changed specs after the purchase was approved. Was sent a duplicate discount code rather than a new one and was not honored at checkout.
I was nervous ordering a pre-owned phone off the internet, but I could not be happier with the results. Excellent website, quick shipping, great phone, at a fraction of price for new. My husband proceeded to order a phone from Backmarket and has the same sentiments. Thumbs up all around! And great way to recycle :)
The phone was indeed in excellent condition as per advertised. It looks new with no scratches. Packaging was also very good.
TekReplay would not honor warranty on phone battery because screen protector was cracked, phone itself was excellent condition. Provided documentation and photos to back market and customer service was a joke.
Hello Cheryl,
Thanks for reaching out to the Back Market Customer Care team! I hope all is well and am sorry to hear that the seller could not provide service to your iPhone 6 Plus, due to the voided warranty. Please note that sellers reserve the right to refuse service on a customer's device if they receive it damaged in any way. In your case, the iPhone 6 Plus was returned to the seller with badly damaged screen.
You returned it because of a battery issue, but please note that the extent of the repair costs can become more complex when there is physical damage to the phone, and for this reason, the seller did not provide service.
I'm really sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear. If you find something else that you like on Back Market, please use the discount code that I made specifically for you, which I sent directly to your email.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. I'll be right here if you need me!
Wishing you all the best.

Dominick from Back Market
This seller treat customer extremely bad. I brought excellent condition. The screen just turn off for no reason. There is no sincere apologies from either backmarket or this seller. I ask for a complete refund, they keep give me troubles for my initially payment. The seller said i can't get the full refund because i forgot to put my charger and adaptor into it. However, the charger and adaptor is only worth 6$ on amazon. They charge me 20 dollars for it. Plz do urself and favor, don't waste ur money and energy to even purchase on this website. Backmarket should be ashamed its own stupid policy. Go to amazon instead of here plz.
Hello Kevin,
Thanks for reaching out to the Back Market Customer Care team! I hope all is well and am sorry to hear that the seller deducted $20 for the missing charger and wall plug in your return of the iPhone XS.
I see that the seller has refunded the remainder, and now the order is fully refunded. I'm really sorry that you feel that way about us, and really hope that you change your mind and join us again in the fight against planned obsolescence.
You're always welcome at Back Market. Our door is always open for you.
Wishing you all the best, Kevin, and take care!

I must say that I'm pleased with the way that Back Market handle the transactions. But, I think Back Market should do a little more to inspect or to ask the sellers to post a true qualification of their products. I bought an "EXCELLENT" Macbook Pro and I got a scratch screen frame product. The seller should post more pictures for the buyer to see and notice any deform or issues that the products may have.
This site/app has amazing deals even for refurbished products. Extremely underrated and god tier customer service. Definitely going to shop here first from now on.
I switched to a windows laptop a few years ago when my last MacBook died. I hated it, but powered through. I finally had enough of the long boot times, glitches, reboots, and yearned to be back to a Mac. I took a gamble on a refurbished MacBook Pro since the new ones were out of my budget. I purchased a "good" 2015 MacBook Pro 15", and it is in much better shape than I expected. It looks great, works great, and I am a very happy camper now!
I bought from here because of the year warranty. I thought that because I was buying a refurbished used phone, that a website with a warranty program would be my best bet. Well my touch screen stopped working out of no where on Saturday of this past week, and now as of Thursday I have had no resolution. I've contacted back market and they just tell me to send the device back to the seller and the seller has to give me a refund. Why would I send my device to a company that isn't answering me? So I can be out of both the money I spent and the device...? Nothing about it makes sense
This is the ONLY website I trust for my electronics. So far I've purchased the iphone 11 and the Mac laptop and I'm VERY pleased. It looks great and works perfectly. I plan on buying my next three iphones here for my children. You can't beat their prices.
I I did a lot of research who I decided to buy this Samsung Galaxy S10 phone I was very skeptical of buying a refurbished phone but I was pleasantly surprised when I unboxed my phone it looked like a brand new phone and it works great I would definitely recommend back Market to all my family and friends Great Vine experience
Great follow through! Customer Service is awesome and involved from the get.
This Google pixel 2 is the best phone I ever purchased and I got it through back market at a great price I could have not afforded this phone at a "new" price but it's just as good as brand new! Great condition. Sleek and super fast with no scratches or blemishes. Thanks backmarket. I definitely recommend checking out back market before buying new! You'll save so much. And with a 30 day guarantee, there is nothing to lose! Black market is backing up their game and have earned my business for sure
I am pleased with you guys promptness my laptop is pretty much scratch free and was very simple to set up!
The service and product were wonderful. We could not even tell my husbands watch was refurbished. We have been needing to upgrade our laptop but hate to pay the price of a new one so plan to purchase one from here very soon!
Answer: Bought a refurbed iPhone 11 unlocked, as a Christmas gift. It arrived and I had it activated. I had no problem with the phone. I went to Simple Mobil, and got their 25.00 plan. The phone is in great condition, works great, and I am happy with Back Market.
Freeing the planet from electronic waste, leading the shift towards a circular economy, and building a global billion-dollar tech company are three solid reasons to wake up in the morning. Founded six years ago in Paris, Back Market is the world's first online marketplace dedicated to refurbished consumer electronics. Back Market connects the best sellers of refurbished consumer electronics with consumers looking for a more affordable, reliable, and environmentally-friendly alternative to buying new.
Hey there Allison,
I'm super sorry that you had to go through this. On Back Market, we sell thousands of different types of devices and all of their different configurations, so cataloging them can be quite a tricky and complex business. There was a bug with the listing you purchased, which is why you received a MacBook with the wrong specs, but no excuses though. Again, I am so sorry about this.
I really hope we can work something out, so I already directly emailed you with a nice promo code if you end up changing your mind about us.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. I'll be right here if you need me!
Otherwise, wishing you all the best, Allison.
