AT&T Reviews Summary

The reviews reflect a predominantly negative perception of the company's overall reputation and customer service. Customers frequently express frustration with long wait times, ineffective support, and unresolved billing issues, leading to a sense of distrust and dissatisfaction. Complaints about unauthorized charges and poor communication from representatives are common, suggesting systemic problems in service delivery. While there are occasional mentions of product reliability, the overwhelming sentiment indicates that customers feel neglected and undervalued. This pattern points to a pressing need for the company to improve its customer service protocols and enhance accountability to regain consumer trust.

Decieved
January 14, 2024

I changed my service provider to ATT, was told that I would get a free phone with a new line. I got the bill 3 weeks later with a 30% mark up on the line and am being charged for the phone. I called customer service to straighten this out. The agent wasn't able to do any changes and am being charged for everything even though the sign up paperwork is different from the bill. I'll be canceling my serving and never go with this company again. DONT DO IT, YOU WILL BE DECEIVED! I bought the phone through Walmart. The sales associate will tell you what you want to hear just to get a sale. ATT customer service won't do anything to fix the problem. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY! I'd give a 0 star to Walmart and att if I could

Very bad attitude
January 14, 2024

The employee tricked me into signing up for the phone plan, and there were many additional charges. It took two days, and I'm still being charged this month.

19 year customer.
January 13, 2024

As a 19 year customer of AT&T / Cingular I find it ridiculous that the company as big as it is, is unwilling to assist they're long time customers with the activation fees, or upgrade fees. Even Cingular in the early years recognized that its the customers that make them number 1. However as AT&T continues to grow and push advertising it has lost sight of the goals created by the parent company. 19 years, 7 lines on my account, and they cannot be moved to help in any way. I am not inclined to switch companies at this time, but believe my loyalty to this company has taken a hit and given the approach they have taken after all these years, that says something.
Again, thanks for nothing AT&T, I'll remember this.

I spent one hour plus on the phone trying to fix a new phone problem with a person who could barely speak English. Run away as fast as you can.

We bought a new iPhone from ATT. At the time of the sale their wireless was having issues and the estimated time to backup and restore was over 3 hours. The salesman ran my imei number through the system and looked over my phone. He said 'take the new phone home and finish transferring your files. Bring the old phone back within 1 billing cycle and we'll credit your bill $100. When I bought the phone back in 20 days later they refused to honor the trade-in.

My response was childish and regrettably immature. I'll stop by today and apologize for not handling my frustration like an adult.

I went ahead & did all the necessary legwork before our actual move in to try & make sure the service would be up & running at move in. So the day of our connection, they just drop a box at the door & let you go ahead & figure it out. I did everything right, got on the phone with a rep for 40 yes 40 freaking minutes & the issue is still not resolved.so of course now our connection is delayed another day until a tech can come out. When will these companies learn that most of us don't want to do it ourselves because we want to avoid the hang ups that we aren't trained for & I myself hate talking on the phone anyways. If they could just send a technician out for 20 minutes it could have been done. The representative on the phone was very nice, professional & did her best. This is not the way to start business with a new customer though

Went to Costco (not to change phones) bumped into a ATT salesman.
Thought I'd give him a chance.I wanted unlimited talk, text, data, and hotspot.
I also wanted 2 new phones, and keep my old ones.
Pretty simple request.
The Costco salesman agreed to all I requested, then said I'd also receive two $100.gift cards and wave the transfer fee.
All this for approximately $125 a month.
This was more then I was paying at Verizon by $15
My first bill $314.39 second bill was $176.75
The quote from the salesman at Costco was approximately $125 and would include everything.
I know what I wanted,I know what he told me.
Called ATT customer service. On the phone for over an hour, finally was told if I added auto pay with checking account only it could save me $20 on the next billing with no discount on the bill pending.
I've been lied to. The salesman at Costco lied.
My advice is to stay away from ATT. Just look at the customer reviews.
If you decide to go with ATT, ask for a printed billing statement before you sign up. They will not.
Also disappointing is that Costco teamed up we this company.
I've never had any negative dealings with Costco

It's trash
January 12, 2024

I am literally at one bar and two of those round things. It's literally garbage. I would rather have something else but it's the only thing I can afford. If they would extend it to people out in the middle of nowhere (aka me!) I wouldn't have to complain. All I want is to not worry that much about having it go out in the middle of a call or something like that. It goes out of service for no reason. Literally just plain garbage. Make it better or you'll be out of business soon for I hate it. If only I could pay for my own.

The WORST!
January 12, 2024

They overcharge you and their customer service absolutely sucks! You always have to make a payment in order to speak to someone even if you don't owe money. I cancelled my second line and they told me my payment would go down $90 and it went up $90! I called to see why and they said I had a late payment from a year and a half ago. Curious why that wasn't on my bill that I pay on time every month. Stay away from these people! They'll rip you off! I just paid a whole month service for $200 and was cancelled 12 days into the billing cycle.

Late Fees
January 12, 2024

My bill is $75 a month. I got jobless. You charged me 60% late fee. That's highly toxic and parasitic for a corporate entity. Especially when you're operating most of your customer service out of a Third World country. I'm all for capitalism. But this is lazy useless capital scum. Your 5G networks is not even actual 5G in a heavily populated area.

I have been with AT&T for over 7 years. I have a business account with 5 lines and average bill of $ 290.00 month. I have never been late in any my payments and because I get my bill electronically, somehow I missed the email and I was late 9 days and thay changed my $14.00 late fee. I call and talked to customer service and they rudely told me they will not credit me after half an hour on the phone. It took them 2 seconds to charge me, but half an hour and no resolution. Very disappointing. I am actively looking for a different carrier. Stay away from these guys they are all about profit with no service.

Paying off a phone
January 12, 2024

Well... if you pay off a piece of hardware... like a phone,. As I did and then request said phone to be unlocked. Well better have your Presidential letter handy. After 2.5 hours the still will not unlock my personal property. I paid this off, its mine. I get it they own the service, not the phone. I've been a customer for over 15 years, not any longer. I don't care who u go with it will not be AT&T any longer.

Scammers
January 9, 2024

They came to my house on Thanksgiving Day and sold us a plan to get us out of another company with lies. They took our cell phone from the other company and told us that they would assume the charges that were owed to Verizon and that we would pay them in easy installments and now it turns out that Verizon took all the money they owed us and At&t says that I don't know who sold us and they have the contract and we have a cell phone activated with them. Surely it was the wind of the rose of Guadalupe that sold us and brought the scam to my house.

Don't ever use AT&T
January 9, 2024

ZERO STARS. I had Verizon for years and the same number for 10+ years, I switched to at&t(biggest mistake ever) and had nothing but problems with my text as soon as I went to them. Most texts wouldn't go out and I couldn't receive and eventually my entire texting system would shut down with an error message saying, "unsupported content". I bought new phones and even took it as far as changing my number because they said that was the only thing that would fix it. Two months after changing my number, the same thing started happening again with the text. January 4th, 2024, I go back to Verizon and buy a brand new Google Pixel 8. Some of my friends and people I need to talk to weren't getting my messages and I wasn't getting theirs. So I sat on tech support for 3 days, hours at a time trying to figure this out. Verizon even ALREADY gave me a replacement phone and changed SIM card. I realized that all these people I couldn't talk to all have at&t so I just called at&t and they said I won't be able to communicate with anyone that has at&t service until SIXTY DAYS after my port to Verizon. And there's nothing they can do to fix it. So if you don't want to deal with this, I would stay as far away from at&t as possible. They have cost me SO much money and time. I literally use my text for work on a daily basis to make money for the company I work with and changing my number completely screwed my loan business. STAY AWAY!

As someone on a low income budget, and unable to half the time get in contact with someone who knows what they are doing, I was trying to move from AT&T and had the worst experience. With the correct account number, transfer PIN, and phone unlocked they would not transfer my phone number. In fact I verified my account number with the phone service I was transferring too. It was the correct account number but still refused to release my number. Called the port number from AT&T and they refused to help me. I don't owe money and I ended up because they refused to help having to completely change my number. I was tired of going back and forth. I have always had issues before but this was infuriating.

I called Comcast; however, AT&T answered pretending to be Comcast. When I advised them of my technical issues, instead of helping me, they tried to cx my Comcast account and open me an AT&T account. They are worse than vultures. This is why I cx'd AT&T a long time ago.
