“Free auction site”

Free auction site. One of the few surviving alternative free site to ebay, Thousand of members some good and some not. Always pay using paypal as the site suggest, so in case of problems you can request a refund to paypal directly since the site it is only a venue.

“This place is a scammers meeting place!”

This place is a scammers meeting place! I have been scammed on a total of FOUR items since July 2011 and didn't realize it until recently when the fourth scammer contacted me. I went to the site and discovered I was being billed for final value fees on items that were never paid for. I have tried unsuccessfully to contact the site managers about this problem but their complaint page has no box for the required access code. I want to remove myself permanently from this site but can find no way out. They don't even give a snail mail address! Stay away from this site!

I registered for atoncer several days ago and never received my activation code. I tried to send them an email in the 'contact us' section and there is a code you are supposed to enter and there is no place to enter it. I tried to enter it in the text area and it just keeps sending an error! Has anyone had this problem?

I signed up as a seller seeking an alternative to ebay. That's when strange things started to happen. First I received an email from a "Reverend Bill Christian" wanting to purchase one of the items I had listed there. Bear with me as I mention "Bill" because you will see it is connected to atoncer itself in a strange way. Now Bill didn't sound like a Nigerian scammer, after my questions he said he was a military veteran working for a US museum, the Bowfish in Hawai. He said he was an Australian turned US citizen. He actually sent me a rather detailed military background form which is more sophisticated than the Nigerian tactics I saw so far. He kept asking me and pressuring me for paypal info and didn't seem to care to have the item shipped to his "uncle" in Atlanta. The people at Bowfish museum said no such person exists there so I wrote to atoncer a scam alert. Here is the most bizarre part of this tale! I emailed *******@atoncer.com. Next day a reply came saying this incident was obviously done by a Nigerian and they had "refunded" their commission. Now read this carefully! The reply came not from *******@atoncer.com but *******@gmail.com. That is rather like having *******@yahoo or *******@hotmail addresses!

Did anyone actually sell anything here? I had several items for sale and none were cheap really and the "commission" atoncer was supposed to get if I went ahead and gave Bill my paypal would be something like $500-700. This doesn't look good but I'm puzzled how anyone else has not commented on this. Perhaps because not even a few people use this site. I discovered that the counter added each time I refreshed and none of the items had any visitors within almost a month.

I have one explanation for all this and you probably deduced the same if you read so far.

I almost got scammed by one of the users on this website and they provided no protection whatsoever. Most of the stuff on there looks sketchy, and that's because it is. If you see something at a good price then the seller probably doesn't even own the actual item. Beware of *******@yahoo.com and *******@yahoo.com. Do not send him any money. He will try to steal it from you.
